All in Thousand Oaks:
I saw Cole Seely driving his right-drive Nissan Skyline.
I saw Adam Enticknap driving his truck with Suzuki in the back on the freeway.
I've seen Mike Kiedrowski driving around town multiple times.
I saw Lars Lindstrom walking his dog in the park by my house.
Oh yeah, also over 25 years ago I took my suspension to Rex Staten's house (not Thousand Oaks) for him to revalve and respring it.
Jimmy Albertson and TC41 ride at my neighbors track almost weekly for the 5 years that I’ve lived on this side of town. Music to my ears when the boys are out ripping! Colt Nichols must live close by too because I see him driving his ram truck with his bike in back pretty often but he really only rides at Robbie’s. I’ve met Robby many times and he’s really a good dude. First time I ever met him in 2011 I was new to OK and he took my number down and actually texted me a list of doctor and chiropractor referrals after I exploded a rear wheel out there and knocked myself silly. Also got to meet Robert Sr and hang out with him at his shop where they filmed for terrafirma a few times while he worked on my suspension. Used to see Forkner and his chick all the time around Edmond before they moved..
I’m used to it now(and 35) but I’ll never forget how when I first moved here it was like Hollywood for a small town Wisco-kid obsessed with moto 😂.
I’d see Cole at Marmalade on Sunday mornings enjoying a mimosa or three a couple times a year.
Lars was a fairly regular run-in at the Vons by my T.O. House as our places are only about a mile apart.
The Enticknap one is funny as I saw him one time on a Thursday morning headed to A1 in 2022 with his Suzuki in back of the Danger Ranger.
The Conejo Valley and Simi are low key Moto hotspots.

Grew up in wildomar/murrieta. Was pretty common to see most of the pros around town at restaurants and stuff. In elementary school we trick or treated in murrieta and DV12's house was on the route and he was always super cool. Millsaps lived on the same street as my high school in murrieta, would see him and davalos riding mountain bikes all the time up at the santa rosa plateau. Nick Wey lived in the same neighborhood as some of my friends and im pretty sure he still does. Metcalfe lived in Elsinore for a long time and hooked my buddy up with gear and plastics one day. TONS of dudes would rent apartments in the complex off clinton keith by the hospital when rockwell was a big place for training. Also Met Deano at the chilis in murrieta off cal oaks, got a signed menu, at washougal that year he remembered us and hooked us up with his gear from the day. From his championship year, still have it. Was really cool racing and growing up in that area of socal in the early 2000's into the end of the 2010's before everyone left california.
Can’t believe I forgot to mention in my first post that Broc Glover was a fairly regular customer at the restaurant I worked at (Souplantation in Mira Mesa for the San Diegans) before I joined the Navy. He couldn’t have been any nicer, and was more than happy to chat.
RIP Souplantation
Man Id do some questionable things for some blueberry muffins with the honey butter. Souplantation was the shit
Rode my pw50 at McGraths parents house.. probably back in like ‘02 or close to that time. The house/track off antelope rd, didn’t meet the man, pretty sure his dad though. Not sure how my pops made that happen.
Nick Wey lived at the entrance to our neighborhood..between like 2004-2009 or so, would see him sometimes.
Villipoto parents house was like across the street off Scott.
Had a sick pit bike track out front, would ride with Tyler.
End of 2014 or early 2015, I would go ride the hills & take this little alley from the street & would cut behind the houses.
Saw these 2 dudes running so just cruised up, noticed one was wearing a redbull shirt, thought hmm that’s weird. Most average joes aren’t wearing redbull. Got closer, turned out to be Ken Roczen, lol. Was living in murrieta.
Threw up the horns! Aha
Annnnnnnd literally fucking an hr ago or so, was checking out at stater bros here in murrieta.
Go inline, thought to myself.. this guy looks familiar.. looks like Grant Harlan..
I said “Yoo is that Grant Harlan?” guy looks right at me, “nah”.
I’m still convinced it was. I said “whaaaat”
Robgvx wins this thread! Close it down!
Holy hell, I don't get star struck, but dayum, seeing and speaking(attempting to anyway) RP would've paralyzed me.
It's been 30 years, so I can't remember the ratio, but the honey butter was literally just honey and butter. Nothing else mixed in. I'm pretty sure the muffins were a pretty straightforward recipe as well.
He really was a very nice man. And the fact that my wife said that, not knowing that he was one of the most famous rock stars of all time, says a lot.
He probably liked that she didn’t realise who he was.
Pat Gomm was a Nor-Cal Legend!
Me and my brother were just kids at the time, but we saw Kevin Windam out for dinner in or around Marathon FL/Key West. We were too shy to say anything. Our Mom excused herself to the bathroom. Apparently, she said something to Kevin. He came over to talk to me and my brother for what seemed like 15 minutes. Very cool. He is a class act.
Same, brother. That guy's music is a part of my soul.
We had a few beverages with the Sheriff and a few Boo Koo team members before Millville in 2006. 90% sure he left with a lady that night.
He was a tall guy from what I can recall, 6'2 maybe. RIP.
Who is the Sherriff?
Josh Demuth.
Pit Row
Packers. Bears. In MN?
Strong willed free spirit above tribal bs who admires Dungey? Kid will be ok pops 😎
Not a moto story, but it just happened so I had to share.
I help coach my sons baseball team and former NFL MVP Matt Ryan was coaching a team that we played in a tournament last weekend.
Sat next to John Force and his daughter two years in a row at a restaurant near Phoenix.
Not meaning to stray too far away from the sport, but I have a similar story.
Earlier this year my wife & I visited a venue on a sunny Saturday afternoon, it was a taproom with live music. We have a puppy, he was about five months old at the time and a little girl came wandering over knelt down and was making a fuss of him. “Look grandad, look how cute he is!” She called across to her family.
Grandad came over, made a fuss of the dog, we had a chat, discussed the music and the beer and said idle his granddaughter wants to pet the puppy all afternoon, that’s fine. So she did and we got friendly with grandad and the rest of the family.
I didn’t realise, ‘Grandad’ was Sir Roger Daltrey!
Ive spent some time with Dick Burleson at multiple rides over the years. He is an offroad legend wining 8 consecutive enduro national championships. His son was also the president of KTM North America. Here are some pictures from a ride in Ohio where he gave me a Jersey and then a few from us cleaning the awning of the Moose Rig. Hes got quite the hilarious personality as well!

Burleson was one of my childhood heroes. Him in those crazy glasses on a Husky was the 70's. Pictures of him racing were all over my bedroom wall. Id cut the full color pages out of "Dirt Bike" and put them on my wall. He shared the wall with Malcolm, Magoo and a random Hannah here and there. Legend to say the least. Eight consecutive ISDE gold medals. I believe the most of anyone. Super amazing rider.
I'm an East coast guy, but I travel a lot, so this question is for the southern California guys. Namely, San Clemente. Right there on your main street, (camino real or whatever) would be on the left side if youre going north (water to your left) there is/was a Barber Shop. Cant remember the name of the Barber Shop. On the wall, there are signed pictures of Josh Hansen, Cole Seely, and some other guys who were in the 250s in the early 2010s. There is Pastrana graffiti in the bathroom too.
Anyone know the place I'm talking about?
I was in the Denver airport several years ago and I was standing at the baggage carousel waiting for my bag to dump on to the conveyor. A guy walked up and stood next to me, but I didn't even look over at him because at that point in the trip, I was sick of other humans. My wife bumped me on the arm and motioned for me to look at him.
I did, and it was Kenny Roczen. This was in the aftermath of his big injury and he still had the external hardware sticking out of his arm. I didn't want to bother him (no pics, selfies), but I just said "Kenny, I'm not going to ask you how you are, because you look miserable. I won't bother you, but we're all pulling for a full recovery for you, and I look forward to seeing you back on the track soon". Although seeing him in that moment, I didn't think I'd ever see this man throw a leg over a dirt bike again.
He was so gracious. He thanked me and told me that, yes, he was in fact miserable (laughing) and that he was on his way to Aspen to get it checked out again. We chatted for a couple of minutes until Courtney walked up dragging all their luggage (my wife gave me shit for not helping her, lol). Even in his miserable state, he had time to talk to a fan. Good dude. Made a fan for life out of me.
Not a Pro rider, but racing related, kind of.
Back in the day Simon Le Bon, lead singer of Duran Duran, and his brother David got into Track Days and wanted to race, but obviously the record company was less than thrilled, so it had to be done on the quiet.
Licenses were acquired, and entries made, and they rocked up at Donington Park (where MXoN was later held), in a transit van and while David could stop in the nearest hotel, Simon elected to stay at the track in the shonky 4 berth caravan we were using at the time with my dad and one of the other track day instructors. He was a cool guy and loved just being able to be normal for at least a while. I think he crashed out at the next meeting he did, and that put an end to it, but seeing the 3 of them sat round a table , in just their shorts drinking tea was funny as. Pre Cell Phone days, so no pictures, i dont think you could pull it off nowadays.
Back around 2011 Mike Jones helped me into an ambulance after I yard-sale'd in front of him at a buddy's track LOL.
Had a 10 minute conversation before a flight out of the Ontario, CA airport flying back to Atlanta around 2019. There were a bunch of industry people on that flight as well. They were grabbing a connection to WW Ranch.
GL was super cool. We talked about the whiskey throttle show as that was when he was still on the podcast with Ping.
Non moto guy but Rob Schneider was on my plane in first class on Sunday. He took pictures with all the crew and was quite funny.
