Green grass and high tides forever?

Next you'll want a castle of stone, souls, and glory

I watched this live performance about 2 hours before GoL put up his response & wondered if that was a weird algorithm in reverse thing. Kinda like when you mention something in conversation & your phone starts showing that to you on your socials.

Someone should do a  podcast about this bike and honestly the race itself.. with Hannah, Wardy and Johnson

Whiskey Throttle probably has. I'd be interested in the USGP RA250 with the Boyeson link rear end.  That thing was built with pencils and paper, prior to...

I'd be interested in the USGP RA250 with the Boyeson link rear end.  That thing was built with pencils and paper, prior to CAD.  Hammering that bike at speed  for the first time had to be similar to a Lockheed test pilot. They had a hard time getting linkage right back then.

Magoo had a KTM 500 works linkage fail so badly the swingarm dropped out from under him and he woke up in the hospital. KTM wouldn't show him the bike afterward either.

Hannah loved it -

That was his 250.. he rode the RM125 at the MXdN in '87

There was a story in one of the mags, maybe Dirt Bike, where Hannah met up with some of the Japanese engineers to evaluate the new '86 RM's.  After a few laps on the 250 he rode it to the side of a ledge, dismounted, then pushed the bike off the embankment. He was utterly disgusted with how terrible a bike they had brought him to test.

Probably mis-remembering a little of this since it's been 40 years! If anyone has that mag or that paragraph and is easy to share please do

Yep; I was replying to the comment about the USGP RA250, hence the pic and links. 👍

I think this was one of the last times Wardy rocked the open face helmet

Hannah rode a factory one off 89 RM125 Prototype with 88 RM250 bodywork….that bike shared next to nothing with the woeful 87 …

I never noticed the '88 radiator shroud until seeing that pic above. Cool shot and pretty neat that they already had a 89 RM125 engine more or less debugged enough to run at MXdN

Also pretty wild that Suzuki was still running the '84 model plastic (sans shroud) all the way through 1988. I guess that's normal today but that 84 era RM plastic with the duck-bill front fender looked dated even in '84, but esp by 86.

Then again we have the RMZ450 which is leftovers from 2011 or so..

It was green grass covered for rewind this year. Once the bikes hit the track, it turned into concrete. Zero ruts all outside man made berms. Super slick. I heard Sunday was much better after they dug it.

I think this is what we need for at least one track. We need more variety on the pro circuit. For the most part there is no need to change tires from track to track because they are all ripped up to your ear lobes. If you bring anything other than the scoop tire you might as well not even go out on the track.
