Macadoo to Kawi 450 2027?

Ok hear me out, it’s clear after today if you’re familiar with the Kawasaki 450 you can be competitive. Look at Marchbanks, he didn’t just start up front and remain there. He rode well and worked his way up moto one!

Kawasaki and their latest business plan of finding a quick guy and bringing them in hasn’t worked. Is it time they find another rider on the 250 who is familiar with the bike and knows how to ride the bike and build from there.

Macadoo is without a ride next year, give Faulkner a 1 year shot as it’s clear he hasn’t gelled with the Triumph, would Levi move up earlier? PC have plenty of riders to choose from, so again why not work with them as a feeder team and put a Kawasaki kid onto the 450!

I don't think getting a guy that's on the couch more than he's on the bike is any better.

Haha yer that’s fair but still surely there is a 250 green rider who they can move up?

Of the group they have, probably not. They'll probably keep Kitchen down to try and get a 250 SX title. Same with Hammaker. Adams turned pro recently, so he's not ready. Romano coming back and making a good case to be signed to a 250 deal next year.

Also, it's been said that McAdoo is going to QuadLock Honda.

There’s some truth to what you’re saying.

Marchbanks doesn’t have a lot of 450s to compare to so he’s just gonna ride the thing. He’s not a veteran with multi titles and dialed and elite and stuck in his ways.

Someone solid and somewhat consistent would make sense, someone with fitness and pushes to the end of motos.

Shimoda? Beaumer? Ryder d? Who knows but I know what you’re saying.

These elite guys know what they want and if the bike doesn’t suit their tastes they hate the thing.

Where marchbanks is just grinding.

Rider choices aside, the root premise here of bringing riders along specifically through the Kawi program from 250 to 450 is pretty solid.

Chase has his own problems that need sorting out (here’s a hint, it’s NOT the bike), but the Prado scenario was bad from jump street. I’ve worked with Jorge for years and a huge fan of that kid, but going to a very different platform with insufficient testing and signing a deal for three years? Recipe to fail.

There is a ton of upside for what the Kawi team has to offer, there needs to be a foundational assessment for any inbound riders before they are signed.

Meh…

If I was gonna go lookin’ for a 250 rider to move up to a 450…and has a history of success on a 450?

I’d go get Shimoda.

(Remember his MXoN ride?)

Kitchen is the correct answer. He is a bigger guy and might gel with 450s. And does not lack for speed.

The only way Macadoo is with Kawi next year is if he’s in the accounting or marketing department.

And, theoretically, Jo could be the #1 450 rider at Kawi, as opposed to the #3 guy at Honda.

This would work as well as an ejector seat in a helicopter

Ya know, that needs a rewrite so that you can incorporate the #4 into your analysis. 🤣

It's funny, after clicking "submit" I thought I maybe should've qualified my comment with "assuming Chase is actually out at Kawi", haha. I don't want to see it happen, I want to see Chase take RV's advice and get out there and ride the damned thing.

They put crashadoo on a 450, he'll kill himself.

Hymas may end up on a Kawasaki 450 ,, and Davies could be a candidate for that ride also. Wish Chase would get rid of the ghosts in his head, and his Dad, and put his talent to work for him, instead of his brain against himself. You brung the Kawasaki to the party , so now dance with her.

Hymas doesn’t deserve his current ride on a 250 and Cole will have better options than the kawi.

McAdoo needs to stop crashing before he moves up.

I hope he figures things out.

You sure?  Maybe a little but he still crashes a lot.  Last weekend he was riding around with the visor flopping in the wind again

Only 1 crash per moto is an improvement

Hampshire won a 250 championship before moving up.

McAdoo's 250 career:

2020 - collapsed lung from practice crash at second round of SX

2021 - knee injury first round of MX

2022 - shoulder injury during press day at sixth round of SX

2023 - shoulder injury at sixth round of SX

2024 - broken scapula at fifth round of SX

2025 - torn ACL before start of 250SX East

2026 - broken humerus at sixth round of SX, comes back and crashes out of SX finale, misses start of MX

McAdoo getting a 450 ride would be insulting to the guys that are able to make it through the entire season.
