find it ridiculous that they took everyone’s money, promised the game would be delivered in 25, and now they put out a monthly update with updates no one cares about, like waving flag animations and players being able to walk around. They need to get the physics right and fix other issues they missed the first deadline on. There isn’t even an expected timeframe for the game to come out now, after taking over $100,000 from the public. If I were a betting man, I would say this game never even comes out at this point.

Sure but one thing to remember is that they said the game would be coming out regardless if they got the crowdfunding or not. So with an overwhelming amount crowd backing and the game being pretty much at a standstill since then, people are getting frustrated when the updates are "we made a new track" "we took a vacation to go look at tracks" "we're taking a much needed break" "we hired some more people" and the game hasn't really fundamentally changed since the first game play footage however long ago.

I want this to succeed but they definitely sold an idea instead of a close to ready product that just needed some more funding to get across the line, which is kinda scummy.

There's a reason they aren't fulfilling their promise on early access play and virtually no unedited videos of the gameplay. It's because the most important part of the game (the part that every studio struggles with) is nowhere near what they had promised. They need to get their priorities straight otherwise this fun vacation they got to try and make a game will end before they know it and they will tarnish people's reputations in the process.

Idk man, I'm a gamer and delayed releases happen all of the time. You mentioned overwhelming support in relation to the crowdfunding, but also admit that $100k is nothing in terms of developing a game. Money makes the world go round and more money here would likely accelerate production/release date.

I won't pre-order a game let alone crowdfund something that is still in production. If someone is seeking crowd-funding for something like this then there is some risk that the finished product won't happen for a multitude of reasons. It doesn't mean that the production team is running a scam.

Is this game coming out on consoles, or just PC? Just curious bc I'd love to give it a go when it releases, but I'm console only.

the names associated w/ this project are legit...but they are absolutely flunking hard core from a PR perspective. Their social posts now are littered w/ comments from pissed off "funders" and the devs are constantly defending themselves. Instead of cute videos showing the same footage, they might want to do a hard sit down interview with someone and fully explain themselves, explain the delays, and explain a REALISTIC timeline. Constantly saying "more updates to come!" has become tired and people are sick of it.

You'd have to be crazy to give money in a Kickstarter for a video game. How many indie games either A.) don't ever get released or B.) get released as a shell of what was promised because of underdevelopment.

If it comes out, great, I'll give them $50. Why on earth would I give them $50 now, when they're probably blowing it on Starbucks while figuring out how to charge me extra for a KX327 DLC.

Not even close. What they do with MTG feels more like what happened with Ashes of Creation. Has a lot of similarities. Star Citizien is a different kind of shitshow

Not doing themselves any favours are they? That "scrub to sideways lander combo off track" at 0:55 is awful

I think that's more of a player skill issue. The animations and physics are consistently being tweaked as it's an early build. I think it's looking better and better with each video they put out. The scaling is on point and the way the bike moves around corners and through the air is very smooth. Also that track looks really fun. I have high hopes for this game and can't wait to get my hands on it.

Mx Bikes doesn't look much better in slow motion/third person and is being worked on for years. It's obviously still work in progress. This video at least is much much better than whatever that team video was supposed to be.

Idk it looks like ass to me for a game that’s been worked on this long

I genuinely dont get it, the movement, the physics, the subtle wonkyness of the rider in third person, it all just looks like a copy of MXBikes running on UE5.

I'm excited for it, if it does come out.... but with GTA and the new wolverine game this fall, my winter will be occupied.

This was posted in late March.

We also want to share a quick team update. Our beloved Doc, who has been handling social media for the project, has decided to step away for personal reasons. Doc has been part of the adventure for a long time and played an important role in helping the project grow and connect with the community. We want to sincerely thank him for everything he brought to the project and wish him all the very best for what comes next.”

Quite a vague statement and there’s since been no additional information from what I’ve gathered.

Probably realized being the face of an ill fated crowd funded video game project isn't the best thing for his career 🤷‍♂️.

Now they're doing AI voices in their update videos. Really shows a strong effort and customer focused brand guys 🤣.

Would it kill y'all to have a human read the words?

Working on environmental assets should be the last thing they spend their time on.

I don't want to come off as a complete snark towards this project because I honestly still find it kind of exciting if they ever make it over the line. I've always been an "arcade" mx game fan. Never got into sim or mx bikes. The only game I've played in the two stick control era is MX vs ATV Legends, and that one is controversial at best.

I just don't have the time to mess around with setting up MX bikes or MX Sim at the moment. They just don't seem like the most seamless experiences. That's what was/is attractive to me about MTG. I'm a very lazy gamer, and they said it would be more of a "simcade".

I'm still hopeful for what it's worth.

Well this won't be an arcade game though, MX bikes is the closest to arcade (it's actually simcade) out of the three. MTG is supposed to be full simulator, if the idea of putting in hours into either MX Sim/Mx Bikes scares you then idk if MTG will be the game for you.

This isnt how they’re promoting the game. They basically say they want the best of both worlds, something easy to get into and for arcade players, while still being a simulator. I’m convinced that this simply is not possible. Its more so to attract as much customers as possible. The harder a game is, the more realistic it tends to be, not automatically, of course, but a game that’s easy to pick up usually wont feel truly realistic or simulation like. You can, however, include a lot of toggleable assists. But if a true simulator is the foundation, those assists end up limiting the games potential (and fun) at lot and mainly serve as a way to ease players in. MX Sim has them too, but with them turned on it doesn’t feel natural at all. So ultimately, even arcade players will still end up having to learn the controlls/physics.

Mtg is not full sim from what I’ve understood. Closer to simcade.

Well it probably ends up being one but its not how they sell it. They promote the game as "hyper realistic simulator" which def isnt a simcade game like mxb. But when directly confronted, they say it has arcady aspects, which is contradicting. Then again, they have to decide which way they wanna go. "hyper realistic simulator" and arcady doesnt go hand in hand and in my opinion, is impossible, as explained in my reply before

Based on what alpha testers said in the discord it will be simulator and it feels nothing like MXB for example. They said they will give people the opportunity to use assists n stuff, yea. But you will also likely be slower that way. Shit is probably gonna be hard if not harder than MXB (hopefully). People that are hopefully waiting for an arcade game or something where they only spend a couple houres are probably gonna be disappointed.

It doesn't matter what people are expecting, we are already disappointed.

Under promise and over deliver is always a good idea. This is the opposite.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but that first vid that dropped with the bike without a rider looked incredible. Now every new video makes me less and less hopeful for the game.

Maybe I'm just old and jaded. I'm trying really hard to not be the "just remake Reflex" guy...but man that game still plays so well.
