That’s embarrassing to hear🙄 come Sunday/monday he’ll probably feel like a complete dumbass when he realizes what he did.
He’s gotta be close to rock bottom, maybe he will be so broken, humbled and let go of his own pressure of his own expectations that can’t be met, that maybe he can grow up and work his way back in his results and fan likability.
The guy has the skills and physical capability but as life has shown, the mind is a strange thing and not everybody reacts the same or in the right way.
Obviously Kawasaki has issues but when you add in Chase, it’s just too toxic to work.
Problem is what team does he do this with?

Well, there’s a fairly reasonable response.

Me? If the ghost-riding and damn near hittin’ Garrett tale is true? Via the behaviors clause…

I’d fire him.

Sounds harsh? Not to me.

Also, I don’t care about the team and bike stories. Not for a second. He won A2 & SLC. Garrett’s holding his own and making progress. There’s an entirely new chassis on the way…and besides all that? I’m just tired of all the bitchiness from a supposed top-shelf-athlete.

Fired.

Yup. And I’d move on.

Hey, RJ…wanna come test our ‘27? Hey, Malcolm, you got a minute? Cooper, are you beyond an LOI with your ‘27 plans? Hey, how much to buy Carson out of his Red Bull deal?

Ya know what? For “Chase money” I can have a 3 man team with a coupl’a guys and Garrett and we can be a team, again. A fun team. Hell, we can call the 3rd guy the “R&D rider” like the good ol’ days.

Now, you’re probably thinking I’m shitting on Chase? Well, I am making him pay the consequences of his behavior; but, I’m also setting him free. Aren’t I?

Garrett, RJ and…hell, let’s get Versace on the phone. Let’s have some fun with this.

Well said.  Team green needs a manager like "Team Green".

lol yes because kawi wants to spend millions of dollars for guys with no chance of getting podiums.

Chase has a problem. It’s his dad. Kawi has problems, and it’s their factory R&D team (and management). They absolutely cannot let another top guy out of their contract years early, which is why now they are finally throwing everything they can to fix it. Problem is, it’s years too late for development.

Funny a few of you mentioned monster having a hard time because of the Prado incident. While true, they were only upset because he was bailing to go to a Red Bull backed team. If he, or chase now, just slid over to a monster team (star or even any team without an energy drink sponsor) they would have zero problem.

Did anyone else here on vital have a little hunch when they heard that Chase was going to Kawi that this “was” going to happen?

Either it was going to be good or be nasty.

not one single cell phone vid taken by a fan as this happened? I truly wanna see him basically "throw" the bike at his team. if he really did this, dude is gonna implode his career. Until then, I'll withhold judgement slightly....

He should throw his dad out of the pits...

...and invest in a new coach/mentor...

The guy is talented as anyone out there and is capable of being the fastest guy, but he’s the biggest head case I’ve ever seen. It’s frustrating because we all know what he is capable of.

I disagree. He is not as good as Jett Lawrence and he knows it. He can't accept this - which is why he blames the bike.

No one gets to this level by being a headcase. He’s not out there thinking about fishing.

His riding style bites him every single time.

Weak brains get weeded out in amateurs.

Lechien and Bradshaw just took their shirt off.

At this point, I want to see him on Star so we can officially cross off all of the viable factory teams and he can tell us the Star bike sucks too 😝

Seems to me that Chase struggles to setup any bike he is on, regardless of brand, although clearly sometimes he does get it right.
I do NOT think it's the bike, every bike needs to be setup for the track as no track or conditions are the same (clearly) each race

Am I the only one that thinks the ghost riding thing is not that big of a deal?
I mean over the years we’ve seen, or heard of, many riders doing things like this when losing their temper. Kicking bikes over, breaking shit,…..there’s any number of similar examples.
Is it an incident that the team needs to address? Of course. Is it worthy of ten pages of outrage? That seems a little over dramatic to me.

It's about respecting the guys on your team.  You can go out back and throw your helmet if you have to. But never throw the bike.

Ghost ride the bike into the team pit area?

You’re fired.

I consider the ghost ride on another level compared to those things because the anger feels much more concentrated on the team, and it shows a disregard of concern for wellbeing of the bike and team considering the damage it could've done.

Imo the other stuff you listed is typically pure anger and frustration, the ghost ride has an element of malice to it

I would like a more detailed account. Did the bike go 3’ and tip over or 30’ and bounce off the rig, toolboxes, or whatever?
I am not a fan of ghost riding at all, but there are variations worth considering. A very serious warning to looking for any way to fire his ass without giving him a penny.
Honestly I’d already be looking at the latter, but that’s just me.

When did Mike Williamson leave as kawi team mgr?

The Tomac's had him sacked maybe a year or 2 before ET left Kawasaki

Was in 2023 that Chase and Tomac had a good duel in the outdoor series?

Then the following year Jett came up. He and Chase both on factory Hondas.

I think Jett beat Chase most of the outdoor races that year.  Correct me if Im wrong.   I believe Chase complained about the Honda that year.

If this scenario does not explain the Chase situation, one must be living under a rock.

Chase cannot consistently run at Jetts speed.

remember when Peick beat the shit out of his bike in the paddocks at daytona after not making the main? That was understandable. Ghost riding a bike at fellow team members is a whole other level.

While I'm definitely not a fan of intentionally damaging your bike or equipment out of frustration, I don't consider it on the same level as launching your bike at your team

Why make the title “hitting marchbanks” and then directly under it post “per mxa almost hit his teammate” stupid fake title. Either edit it or this should go to the dumbgeon. Its bad enough he ghost rode his bike no need for the extra fake bs added on top.

Exactly, you’re now increasing the already heavy workload on the mechanic that just busted ass to provide you with an impeccably prepped machine and has to do it all over again in less than an hour between motos.  That’s going beyond just disrespectful in my opinion.

I'd be very interested to learn how this topic would go down both internally and externally if Marchbanks had a bad ride and ghost rode his bike, nearly hitting Chase..

Why doesn’t Kawi put KYB suspension on the bike for Chase? ML was saying that the Active Ride suspension that Kawi is pretty much replicating is as close as you can make Showa to KYB. They’re doing everything they can for him, throw some KYB on it and see if that helps him.
