He's almost always like that in one-on-one interviews. He's honestly pretty well spoken kid and I enjoy what he has to say. That said, idgaf that the whole Scrappy Doo "got that dog in me" thing is a character, that's as much Haiden as this version. The whole act of using a persona to compartmentalize and distance oneself from actions is an old playbook and I've always liked that it largely didn't exist in MX. WWE made me cringe when I was a kid and makes me cringe now.

Deegan was pretty respectful on the track. Not in anyway matching the off the track talk. He didnt even attempt to do anything dirty. And based on how everyone talks about it, no one mentions that.
HE even talked about leaving the door back open for Jett and Jett making the pass back and it was history.
Jett is elite at just about everything but IMO, he is best at his racecraft. While Deegan passed the same guys, Jett did it MUCH MUCH quicker. It took Deegan time to make the same passes.
Deegan was also stuffing his bike in the corners and that could just be time on the 450.
He has what it takes to win races with this field. Jett finished 3rd overall and Deegan was 1 spot behind him both motos. He will get better.
We should just all enjoy such a deep field.

That was just a slightly subdued version of his typical arrogant self, and his self glorifying comment about passing Jett is laughable, because as it is well known, Jett is not anywhere near his former self, and unfortunately, probably never will be.
