Haven't see this posted yet. RIP to Mike Kidd, and condolences to his family.
Really enjoyed all the AX events I went to that wouldn't have been possible without him.

RIP

Saw that, bummer.
What a great career in the motorcycle industry. I only met/knew him through Arenacross in the 90's/2000's but man he had a great run. Last time I saw him was a few years ago at Demuth's memorial north of Dallas. He looked good but hasn't been well lately fighting the big C.
Hope Sandra, Randy and the family are doing ok.
RIP Mike
Loved his arena-cross races, he really did it right.
He was such a nice guy.
Thank you for your contributions Mike, RIP.
100% agree on this. When Mike and his crew were running things is when I was attending several rounds per year. He definitely put on a great show in those years. RIP Mike

Great racer and amazing guy that changed AMA AX and Supercross when he upped his series payout to $1 million to the racers.
Then AMA bought his AX series.
I believe Clear channel bought the series and then Mike worked for them running it until his "no compete" clause expired.
He sure elevated the arenacross into a premier series that extended careers for a lot of guys like Hawthorne and Antunez. If you won it you definitely earned it. He had a great points fund and if I remember right had an annual banquet that included a ski trip and championship rings.
It is unfortunate that the demographics and other factors of our sport had changed a great deal and he was not able to duplicate his earlier success with a new series after clear channel kind of lost interest during the great recession.
RIP
Man. Grew up hearing his name in a lot of circles. An icon. RIP.
RIP. And Mert who just passed is in one of those pics.
I was at that race in 1981!!

Saw this s few minutes ago, not sure who created it though...
First indoor race was one of his in the Cow Palace back in '84, then raced at his track near Boyd TX a few years later. He gave everything he had to promote various types of racing. His was a life lived trailblazing. Rest peacefully Mike and thank you.
My Dad and I went to Boyd raceway about every weekend trying to hone my skills. When I got my first national # (28) Mike was one of the first to congratulate me. RIP Legend!
