I'll take a mudder over a steamer. 😄
Atmospheric river
HA!
We used to have a deal in engineering where we'd take turns giving words to another members of the team that he'd have to use during this weekly meeting we did. You use the word, you get lunch. You don't, you buy lunch.
I chose Cleveland Steamer for the word. I got lunch that day, but nobody could look at one another and keep a straight face. T'was a good meeting.

Its frickin sunday. Not even the weatherman knows yet
As if this season couldn’t get any more interesting, a mudder would really spice things up.
Tree Fiddy
If it ends up being a mudder, and I mean true mudder like Anaheim 05. I could see them changing the triple crown to a different weekend.
But the track crew has gotten really good at preventing those. Unless it rains all day the day of then all bets are off.
Cincinnati bow tie😉
Still Saturday here. Ha!
Everyone in the Nashville pits were talking and expecting a Cleveland mudder.
Have we ever had a triple crown mudder before? Ride backup bike for second race and get primary bike ready for third maybe? Are you allowed to go back to primary bike once you go to backup? Sounds like a good time, bring on the rain!
Feld should allow 3 bikes due to the mud. But definitely wait until Thursday to announce it. 🤨
10 day forecast showing rain Saturday/Sunday, triple crown should spice things up considerably!!
I'm thinkin' dis iz gonna be beyond biblicalal...its spaghetti monsterish!
Anyone catch what JT said on review pod about why this is a triple crown? Race is on NBC this weekend but only for 1 hour starting at 3:00. TV didn't want to show heat races and wanted to show actual races of consequence, so had to be triple crown format to make that happen in the 1 hour window. Can't imagine they change the format regardless of weather.
And how do they get 6 races in a 1 hr window?
Pit Row
I was trying to do the maths on that as well.
They don't. But they get the first races of the triple crown that have all the top riders competing against each other in a race that counts towards the overall result.
Can't start the event at 1:00 to make the mains line up for 3:00 window they have for TV, so the choice is race 1 of the triple crown format or heat races.
Why not just show regular main events that have all the top riders competing against each other in a race that definitively decides the overall result? lol
Because they'd have to start the event at 1:00. Qualifying would start at 6:30 in the morning. TV window came first. Everything else had to adjust for that.
Whack call of the week here: if it's a true mudder and a triple crown, Prado wins the overall. Hunter grinds out a solid 3rd overall. Someone random ends up second. A big name capitulates and it's their championship done 🤷
Better chance of getting the first 2 races off on time, I'd guess.
I know what a Cleveland Steamer is... I don't want to know what a Cleveland Mudder is. 😆
When I first saw the title of this thread I thought, "Oh no, here comes another Urban Dictionary reference."
They'll be doing recaps on the first 2 races in each class then show the 3rd mains live. It fits into an hour, barely.
If it is an hour on the network.
No. Opening ceremonies 2:30, event time is 3:00, NBC broadcast is 3:00-4:00. They're showing the first races of the triple crowns and then will mention a thousand times that the action continues on peacock.
. . . and then at 4:00 they're going to show the first period of the Red Wings/Predators game and then will mention a thousand times that the last 2 periods will be shown on Peacock. Wait no that would never happen. lol
Just keep it a night race and say thanks but no thanks for the hour on NBC. Or if you think that hour on NBC is that important have qualifiers on Friday and show the third motos live so the people watching live can see the winner celebrate. Of course that brings up other triple crown issues because the "winner" may be the guy that got that got 4th in the race seen by the NBC viewers.
I totally agree and argued the same thing last week. Filling a time slot for NBC does nothing for the sport. when they start having day races and picking the race format to appease their broadcast partner it doesn't help with conspiracy theories either.
Tomac will finally use a scoop tire appropriately
