Justin Cooper HEP Suzuki?

4/8/2026 9:22pm

Triumph and Troy Lee have both reached out to him, but he’s not signed yet.

He’s not riding cheap, he hit his accelerators last year that gave him a raise and 1 more year.

Garrett has a good chance of keeping his ride.

1a & 1b. One has to wonder if Honda will get sick of paying out all the bonus money like we have seen in the past. I think Hunter has likely closed the gap to his brother of late. We will see soon enough. Both will have their hands full with RC jnr.

I keep seeing this repeated but I've never heard him take that stance.  Is everyone just assuming this because his wife's family is rich?  We don't know those dynamics but it seems like everyone assumes he doesn't care about money.  I'm sure NBA Jay Coop would love to be able to be self suficient with his financials and not rely on the in-laws.

Idk man, he got his in-laws private jet tattoo’d on his arm. Dude loves his in-laws

Grandpa sold his company to Tyson for around $600 million.

Trying to keep up

What is a grafter?

Jay boo?

As far as riding cheap, that would seem relative, especially if your in laws have hundreds of millions.

Like chris rock said, there is rich, and there is wealth.

If bill gates woke up with oprah's money he would jump out a window.

Could we see J Coop end up on Suzuki next year? I think depending on what happens with Anderson that could be a good possibility, also with Suzuki supposedly going to have a new RMZ next year. I do think Triumph is his most likely landing spot, but fun to speculate. HEP would probably really like a top guy that will run the full outdoor schedule too

Anderson ain't coming back.

But, if Kenny wins this year it wouldn't shock me to see him go back to Europe or bow out altogether. That said, JCoop would be awesome at filling that spot.

It would shock me. Kenny has said many times he doesn’t enjoy outdoors anymore other than a one off appearance for fun.

Why do we assume he is going anywhere?  Just because Deegan is riding a 450 does not mean JCoop is leaving.

That's why his hometown on the rider roster each week is a town in Germany? Probably more strudel than apple pie.

Um his hometown won't change, he was born and raised in Germany, but he is American now....

Would Ducati be able to match what Triumph can do $$ wise? He would be tied up in TLD gear and Oakley goggles with Ducati whereas at Triumph he could do his own gear deals.

4/9/2026 11:20pm

No way does he sign with HEP Suzuki. After Kenny wins the SX title this year, and collects his bonus, HEP will have $37.42 left in the checking account. He signs with Ducati, after Ferrandis retires.

Great he can be another B team player while Roczen finishes out his carrer. Like he has at Yamaha with Webb.

Let the games begin!👎🏼😕

Unfortunarely the kid has talent but will never be a 450 champ, he learned long ago to be the team player. I think some confidence got kicked around by the Lawrences and others in the 250’s also. So does not have championship mentality. His rides now indicate a common occurrance in motorsport. Contracts up I better ride balls out. Get a contract, then get back to normal. Not saying he’s a bad guy, just the way it looks to me.

Is he a worse 'never going to be Champ' than AP, or Mookie, or Hunter, or RJ , or Barcia , or Ferrandis ?

He is solid.  Triumph should snap him up.

Worth 2 Jordan Smiths and 4 Forkners.

I am trying to remember the last time he missed a race.

Exactly, he reminds me of Andrew Short. May not win a championship but he'll be there week in week out finishing top 5 both indoors and outdoors getting plenty of TV air time and he's not a headache to deal with.

I think Suzuki pays his bonuses, not HEP.

Flying trans Atlantic is orders of magnitude more costly than within the US. Like 250k compared to 10-20k

Yeah his in laws would be stoked to piss away six figures a week and he would love to do that wild of traveling. Someone on vital told me he may quit racing and just volunteer at the local shelter.

Hunter may well be this years SX champion. And has been consistently improving.

Seems to be a great team environment. And having two brothers as champion teammates is very rare. But looks to be working well.

Closed the gap as in he's going to be more competitive with Jett or closed the gap as in he's Jett's equal? Hunter has improved drastically but he's still the number two Lawrence on mx/sx track. Roczen is riding amazing but him being such a threat to win the title this year just reaffirms that if Jett was out there everyone would be fighting for second. He's no match for Jett. Gotta be in it to win it though!

I’m not sure about that man, Hunter, Kenny & Eli up until a couple weeks ago have been riding really well. Jets on the couch… of coarse the gap has closed. Outdoors are going to make for some great viewing.

I think JCoop should stay where he’s at, but if he did go somewhere, I’d like to see how he would do on the Kawi.

I’d like Star to keep him, also.  So, obviously based on that, they should!!

There’s a very real chance that Webb doesn’t stay at Star when his contract is up. Doesn’t want to do MX anymore. Webb to HEP is a real possibility.

Haha, doesn't want to to motocross anymore. 'Cooked' Cooper Webb has spent the majority of his time on a 450 trying not to do outdoors...
