Anyone else thinks Deegan beats Jett first round?

3/24/2026 3:54am

I'm a Jett fan, I'm a Deegan fan (kind of). But, Jett put it perfectly in his podcast with Gypsy. "I don't have to talk smack on the internet, look at my accolades." Or something of the sort. I'm pumped for this summer!

Deegan's starts may need to improve a bit. I don't know if he'll find it as easy to go from 10th to the front in 450s, but as was said... "That's why they race".

Should be interesting for sure….Jetts ability to come back from injuries has been impressive….Deeg”s definitely has the 250 guys covered ….but many have struggled jumping into the premier class….be a good time for pappa Deegs to step back and let his son developed his own personality….hard to support their current strategy of trailer park mind games…..

It is crazy to me that some people only talk about Jett vs Deegan and assume Deegan will just move up and blow by guys like Hunter, Tomac or Prado. I didn't list Chase cause who knows at this point with him and Kawi.

Many people always compare their 250 careers since they're very similar and dominant. But people forget Jett became a complete different alien once he got on the 450, you think Deegan makes the same big step and becomes even better on the 450?

You guys just have to look at history. What other 250 rider with Deegan’s (likely 4) championships moved up and DIDN’T win/succeed? Is Deegan going to be the first? (The list of 4 250 titles is RV, RC, Stew, Jett)

Now ask yourself which is more likely. That Deegan will win much to the chagrin of this forum, or that he breaks 50 years of stats and falls on his face?

To quote J-Bone in The Great Outdoors “I just want to see a battle”

Deegan isn’t beating Jett unless Jett crashes, gets hurt, DNF/DNS.

Unless Deegan goes 22-0 his rookie year, he’ll forever be under Jett

Does anyone know how his times are at the Star outdoor test track compared to Webb and Cooper (or Tomac from last year)?  I am 100% confidents Deegs will have something for Jett and the 450 field in outdoors.  Winning round one?  Well that is a stretch, but not an impossibility.  Deegs is a freaking Dawg and has the mentality to send it outdoors.  His 250 career is better than Jetts by far.  He smoked the 250 field (and Davies whom was suppose to have something for Deegs and got his man card ripped from him).  I am a Tomac fan and want nothing more than #3 to smash the field outdoors, but reality is these young guns are gonna be HARD to beat this summer.

You really wrote that down and thought "yeah that sounds about right" while they have similar stats, huh?

Bear in mind Jett's weakness has been "not trying 100% the full moto" at times, he does it for a few corners when he needs to, pulling multiple seconds when he does that. I predict we will see him try his full or close to 100% for every moto once Deegan arrives and I predict that Deegan bends the knee eventually, he will have no choice after at best having a season like Chase did where its just endless 2-2's (doubt thats happening with a healthy Eli and Hunter but still). Jett respects and likes a lot of his competitors, however, there's personal beef with the Deegans, he is going to destroy Haiden to make a point and as a Jett fan I have been looking forward to this for 2 years now since Haiden's "im in his head" BS years back. A lot of industry people were worried Jett would just get bored, Haiden will at least be all the motivation Jett needs to really put a stamp on the difference in talent/ability and make things interesting. Haiden is good but Jett is Great, with a capital G.

Deegs is more worried about beating Hunter. Jett isn’t even the fastest Lawrence.

First Deegan has to get into top ten.  We will see if/ how he races the rest of 450’s then we might have an idea of how he is comparing to the top 5 (?) in the class. Also need to remember he is not immune to injury as 450’s have the potential to derail a career.

I have no idea but how have other 250 class winners done in the past, say their 1st, 2nd, 3rd years.

You Euros sure aren’t shy regarding your biased opinions….

First round no way I think Deegan would be very happy with a top 5 with the current field of 450s.

I am not confident enough to bet on anyone for the first round. Including Deegan. I think we will see how risky Deegan is really being when he is flat out all the time now though. Dunno how hard he will go at the first round, might have to wait  couple.

I’m with you he will be top 5 and battling for top 3 into the season…to write him off and say something as dumb as he has to get into the top 10 first and them compare him to the average 250 champs and not the three other champs who’s 250 records he has equaled or surpassed…RV, RC and Jett, is 100% ignorance…

Look, it's totally possible. Do I think it will realistically happen? No. Deegan will have the likes of Tomac, Prado, the other Lawrence, and (hopefully) Sexton to contend with, none of whom are slouches outdoors, either. To wax that murderer's row in two 30+2 motos outdoors on your first try is a tall order.

Not by far, but just take a look at the stats, Haiden is better than jett in 250 mx in most categories, idk about sx.

Huh.

Jett’s gonna be amped, hungry and itching to “take it back”.

Lil’ Deegs is gonna have his hands full if he’s gonna run with Jett at his 1st 450 National. Oh, and, outdoors…Hunter ain’t a slouch, you know?

Either way, we’re in for one helluva race.

I’ll be the guy celebrating when they all head to round 2…healthy.

Going back to 2016 250mx Champs:

Deegs- Unknown
Hunter-  2nd, 2nd
Jett- 1st,out, 1st
Ferrandis- 1st, out, 2nd
AC- 2nd, out, out
AP- 20, out, 10
Osborne- 5th, 1st, 26
Webb- 8th, 9th, 6th

Looks pretty good to be a 250mx champ moving up to 450s

Yes. And the cope here is comical. This forum has been writing Deegs off to the point of absurdity for his entire career, and the dude is literally about to wrap up a 250 career that is superior to Jett’s. Guys here are in for a really rude awakening. I would suggest accepting at least the smallest dose of reality so that your minds don’t melt when Deegs does defeat Jett and looks good doing it. At least admit that he is very likely to give Jett a challenge this summer. For God’s sake.

Correct me if I am wrong, but both Jett and Deegan were on the track in the 2022 250 MX series.

Looks like Deegan managed to get 4th the following year. Hunter winning.

Pala is probably the best track for Deegan. So there’s a chance.

Nah, Hangtown. Deegs rolls there and JL hasn’t been as lights out there. Stamp it

Jett at Pala is like RC at millville. Good luck.

Is there a chance Douche could win, yes.

And according to his fans he's going to lap the field.

Realistically, 4th or 5th overall will be an excellent first outing, my thoughts.

Say what you want about Deegan...he comes to every race to win. He doesn't like fkng around in the top 5 or top 3. The kid puts in the work. He may not be a polished 450 rider yet, but if he just irons out a few things, he can easily beat Jett...and everybody else. The kid just doesn't quit or rollover from what I have seen. He comes to beat you and he will tell it to your face...and then does it. He doesn't sugar coat sh*t.

If Jett is healthy, I'm not wasting $1 betting on Deegan to beat him at Pala.  What we don't know is Jett's health.  But at Pala, nobody beats Jett...

As posted above, Hangtown is a bit more likely to have the 2 racing each other.  But then at Hangtown you also have Sexton who absolutely flies there.  And I think like most, the KTM is going to be good for Eli...  And Hunter's always a contender outdoors, remember the last time we had outdoor moto's??  He smoked the world.

For the title, we could be in for another epic season barring injury.

Deegs is going to ask Jett questions at the end of the moto that he hasn’t been asked before. Jett hasn’t yet felt the pain that it is going to take to out kick Deegs in the last 5-10min of a moto. If Deegs is close in the final minutes, my money is on Deegs’ fitness to be superior.

Also, I think we’ve got to consider that both guys have tracks that they are very good and not so good at. Lucky for fans, both guys are phenomenal at Pala so round 1 could be a banger.

Wow, why didn't Eli, Chase, Hunter or Aaron think of that....just iron out a few things and boom, you can easily beat Jett.
