Online, yes. In real life most people are just fine.
For me personally its never been a better time to have both my kids ramping up in sports and activities. Even if I wanted to follow every political news story and find one's to piss me off ,I would never have the time.
To be fair…
When you live here, you DO get to really enjoy those times of year BETWEEN all the tourist-times…you know, those wonderful times when people that come to town and bring their little bubble with them…but, still…those between times are wonderful…
No group of goofs taking up the ENTIRE Salt Creek Trail (a wide 2-way trail from the hills of Laguna Niguel to Salt Creek Beach) or no drunk goods on the fairway at Monarch and especially nice: No Traffic on PCH. Good times.
Yup, life’s pretty good at the beach.
But, don’t you worry…the Olympics will be here soon and the Beach Traffic is gonna get Crrrrazy!
🤣
See you Monday. Until then, Stay Stoked. 💪🏼🇺🇸🚴♀️

Soggy, im really happy for you and your family, sounds like you are doing ok and that makes me happy...really, really happy for you.
I've looked at therapy here..cheapest is R4000/hr....that takes me 2.5 days to earn...we are struggling to pay rent and eat, so that ain't an option.
Your openness and vulnerability here is commendable. This is the perfect place to vent. But don't let unfortunate circumstances completely steer your ship 24/7, or you'll continue to experience unfortunate circumstances.
It sounds like you've been dealt a tough hand, but you're still here showing up and making things happen. Respect my man.
Venting is healthy but make sure you offset that with gratitude. If you didn't deal with challenges, we wouldn't grow as individuals. Your energy is contagious whether it's good or bad.
You know how many folks out there would love to have some time on a weekend to read books or watch movies? Or the ability to take their dog for a walk on a damn beach? Hell, I know folks on this forum that would love to have the ability to simply walk.
Life is a wild ride, not always a fun one. But it's important to appreciate what you do have, and make the best of the cards you're dealt. Your mind is an incredibly powerful thing, take care of it and yourself.
Something I quickly wrote down while on a trail ride with my dog in the morning a couple weeks back, at one of his 'appreciation stations' I call them. He has spots where he always just sits and takes it all in...the sun, the birds chirping, his nose to the wind.
Listen to your dog more than your dog listens to you.
You just might learn a thing or two.
It's kind of funny. Dogs help remind us about the truly important things in life. They remind us that we have it all backwards. The dog is God's reminder we're doing it all backwards. It just comes in a sweet package because dogs kick ass. And happens that dog spelled backwards is god. They got that god complex up in them. And we have it mostly backwards.
Take care fellas.
Thank you TMac, I read your post 5 times over and each time I found something more meaningful.
I'm in a real bad spot, for the first time in my life, we, my two girls, and wife face eviction. I'm working myself hard to avoid that but burnout is real...
This wasn’t even directed towards me, and it really touched some nerves and spoke to me. Very well written T-Mac.
Great perspective, reminded me of this picture.

BTW Dave says HI to everyone.
Got to hang out with him all day and watch the Daytone SX at his place and we could even see the fireworks from the track at his house.
He is relaxed and doing extremely well playing golf and still is a Moto fan through and through. And dam can he cook!
We had a very interesting conversation about riders not fighting and giving it 100% everything that they could and them settling.
Food for thought, right there.
Situational Awareness can mean simply being engaged in where you're at RIGHT NOW...and...as they say...as they've sang...Nothing Else Matters.
Never cared for games they play
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
And I know
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No nothing else matters
Geeeez Boys. I feel for all of ya. Aside from this site and tacomaworld im off the internet. I never watch news and why would I ? There isnt anything anyone can say that would make me care about news. Since the chinese flu deal I lost all interest in opinions.
As long as my ice rinks have ice and i can skate fuck the rest of the world. We have a strict locker room rule no politics.
Plus I bled today doing bike shit, always makes life better.
Miss the hill country, and big bend.
And the real Shiner Bock.
Not the stuff they send out to the rest of us outside the state.
There goes OB...gettin' his Traveler on. Fucker...makin' us all jelly as he downs a perfect Margy.
That bastard! He killed Kenny! 🤣
Get home safe, brother.
I don't know if it's doable for you, but you might try a telehealth appointment with a US based practitioner....the one I use for in person visits is 95USD, or about R1500. Telehealth appointments tend to be less costly than in person visits. Just a thought....
Ask yourself, is there ever going to be a better time to take some time of and tune out than now? If the answer is no, find a way to live out your dreams.
An awesome post. Thanks for sharing it.
I would be insane without our 2 aussies.
On the other hand they may very well be the thing that keeps me in a shitty relationship. I know I could not take them with me because I have no idea where I would end up and could not devote the resources to them they would need.
Meanwhile I will watch them savor the joy of new smells and things to checkout, chasing tennis balls to exhaustion, or trying to out run side by sides across open fields.
Boomslang, hard to see someone with a shared love of our crazy sport struggling.
I remember you posting some of your work, particularly the tower project, that were just amazing. Not enough people appreciate that kind of fabrication that borders on artwork.
I sincerely hope things turn around.
Pit Row
Thanks bud, we will pull through one way or another.
I'm busy with a massive ceiling job which is gonna take around 8 months to complete. Really looking forward to the finish as it will be one of the best projects that we have done.
Anyways, once my wife lands a job then things will turn around quickly.
Wishing you all a great safe weekend.
What kind of ass#ole down votes such a positive message !!!
I try not to hang out with negative people. One of my ol dirt bike friends, I found out in the desert one day is a true pessimist.
He was so bad I coined him "pessy".
He is a decent mechanic, and a few years back I was asking him about doing the carburetors on my FZ1 for a price I don't remember, i think it was a hundred dollars and I had all the parts.
He went off on some tangent on the cost of blah blah blah! Next thing I know he's cursing and screaming at me on the phone and hung up on me. That was the last time I spoke with him. Good riddance! 🙄
Please let us help you 🙏.. I understand you are a proud man, but i for one like to help a little. Not a handout, just paying forward !!!
I try and read passages from the bible everyday. I have a good grasp on the scriptures and see how world affairs and peoples attitudes are fulfilling Bible prophecy. This gives me an internal peace , knowing the things I’m seeing and experiencing daily are part of the last days of this system. That said, I don’t live in a utopia , I feel the pressure too, I know though that things will change for the better and I hang on and wait for that day to come, knowing that if it doesn’t come in my life time , it will come and I’ll be back once resurrected, to enjoy a new system here on earth, ruled by a heavenly government put in place by God. 2 Timothy 3:1-4 , Revelation 21: 1-5 , Isaiah 65:17, Isaiah 66:22 , 2 Peter 3:13 , Acts 24:15 , John 6:44 , Daniel 2:44
Best wishes to everyone. 💯
In my experience, the joy/contentment/peace/optimism/etc. etc. I feel has less to do with the circumstances of my life, and far more to do with the focus of my life.
I've been in bad places (though not as bad as many) and good places (though not as good as many)...I've been happy in bad times, and pissed in good times...and as I have tried to reconcile that, the only conclusion I can draw is that when I'm focused on two things I'm unhappy, no matter my circumstances...1) Myself 2) Things I have no control over.
So over the years I've made it a point to do my best to focus less on myself and more on serving others (neighbors, strangers, friends, family, and Jesus Christ) and focusing on things I have control over.
The bible in 1 Corinthians 2 calls our natural inclination to focus on ourselves as the "natural man"...the natural man is an enemy to God....and God commanded us to love our neighbors as ourselves and if we do that he will make our burdens light. Those biblical principals have proven true in my life...For me it has made a world of difference in my attitude, joy, and happiness.
You guys have helped me a whole bunch already. Just reading some of the replies here have given me more strength to push on forward.
What myself, my family and my animals are facing ain't gonna be nice. The next couple of months will be a life changing event and if we can find a cheaper place to live then we have a good chance of rebuilding.
The fear I face is real, a cheaper place means living in an area which ain't safe. I worry about my daughters getting r*ped....that is a legit concern.
The key to us getting out of this mess is for my wife to land a job but as I've mentioned before, it is not easy when you have the wrong skin colour..
I have another month left in my current house which we have been in for 17 yrs and we will fight as best as we can to pull a rabbit out of a hat...
I'm alive and in pretty good health, except for my head which is congested with stress and anxiety...I have to keep reminding myself that there are so many families out there that are in more dire position than myself.
All I can do is keep pushing, hoping and praying that my wife lands a job.
Cheers you all. I'm going try and sleep now...its the only time that sets me free.
Good weekend to ya all. When I wake up at 04h00 am I'll watch the Indy SX with my beautiful white cat who is always on my lap.
I appreciate the kind words fellas. I've been doing a lot of reflecting myself lately and glad others find some helpful nuggets in my ramblings. Fainting and driving your van into a pole will help put things into perspective a bit, I now know from experience...
You're a good dude @mxdad552. I think men, especially us moto dudes, take a lot of the heavy things we deal with and internalize it - and unfortunately sometimes project it outward indirectly in negative ways. And when you keep everything bottled up, something has to give at some point.
I am really bad at asking for help myself, and I really hate being a burden on others. This is something I have been working on, and allowing myself to open up more and be vulnerable has really improved my relationships and helped me connect with others on a much more meaningful level.
At our core us humans are fundamentally community driven creatures. Our survival, evolution, and well-being are heavily dependent on connection, working together, and shared resources. It is deeply rooted in our DNA. These fundamental elements have a huge impact on our mental health, safety, and our development of identity and emotional stability.
Our societal ship is being steered by a small group of self serving individuals, and it is no surprise we're experiencing a lot of the issues we are today. The ruling elite are predominantly reaping the rewards of our collective efforts, while simultaneously dangling a carrot in front of us and programming us in ways to ensure the tide maintains course.
Pair this with how connected and aware we are with the evolution of information systems and our ability to communicate on a massive scale, it only makes matters worse. Which is incredibly unfortunate, because we have the experience, knowledge, wisdom, and technology to live in a world that works for all of us while also being excellent stewards to this big spinning ball we all call home.
@Titan1's message is a very good one and resonates with me deeply (thank you for that)...Focus on what you can control - yourself and how you participate in the world. Be a good person, and help others along the way. It is amazing how the tide starts to shift when you employ this strategy.
EDIT - @Dudley I love that picture, thanks for sharing. It definitely nails it. A picture is worth a thousand words. As Cool Luke always reminded me, "less words"...Clearly I have not learned yet 😂
Chop saw and, steel studs work wonders. It usually clears the room lol.
😂
I just wish that I could be stronger and make better decisions but my head is fried with these monthly challenges we are facing. I spoke briefly to Chance the other night...I had a bad breakdown...and I ain't been much better.
Both my USA VISA and Passport has expired. Renewal of those has been put on Ice. I need to dig ourselves outta this hole we are in.
I'm hanging onto my home, by working 16 hrs a day, 6 days a week but that's it. Nothing left for anything else. The struggle is real.
Once the missus lands a job then we will be renewing our passports and taking President Trump's offer of Asylum...everything costs, we need to get medical clearances etc but there is a legit way to get to the USA now...its just a money exercise and will take a little time. We gotta do it before Trump's term is over...
Another worry is my animals..I love them and they depend on me...I cannot give them up...for me that will be the ultimate failure in life...
I'm really not well in the head...but I'll keep fighting.
