Is it too early to start talking about a 450 Deegan ride at Daytona?

I mean the lad is ready!  Would be great to see him mix it up with the big boys on a big boy course.

I’d love it!!  But he has said there are no plans to SX on the 450 this season.

Why do people keep bringing this up? He's a chode but his team around him are surely smart enough to know that going to 450 SX this year, in this current environment with his current "form" would be an incredibly stupid move and has no advantage at all.

I'd imagine if he lines up for 450, he'd have a massive target on his back and would risk getting an injury and losing a now certain 250w title and being ready to go for 450 outdoors.

I wouldn’t be surprised cause we seen others do it in the past , Kenny on the 350 , RJ did it last season I think , j mart did it & I think deano did too on reedys two two kawi but knowing how they operate, they locking in on 450 outdoor testing

I would shit on this but I feel out of touch with the shit they do. I don’t think it’s smart, but I also didn’t think going wsx on 450 was going to be smart and was wrong there.

No rush. Make the transition after he’s had time to adjust to the 450 for moto and he is ready to win.

People need to just be patient. Prepare and then make the switch.

Take outs, looking back, acting like a goon, cocky as all hell etc etc. and coming into a 450 race where he's not a part of that championship thinking he's king dick trying to prove he can rumble with the big boys is probably not going to go over too well.

I'd wager a guess that he's not very liked throughout the paddock and any hint of his antics with the big boys would get himself punted pretty quick

Think what other guy is saying he doesn’t have a target on his back yet. No one is worried about him in sx at the moment and I don’t think anyone would go out of there way to put him down in a one off event as things are right now.

I’ve seen a take out in just about every 450 race this season. Nobody cares if someone’s looking back. Goon? Yeah goons don’t win championships , but if you want to keep crying about his singular cross jumping incident than Prado must have a massive target on his back because that’s his bread and butter. Anderson and Ferrandis ride wide bikes as well do they also have targets on their back? Does Eli have a target on his back for punting Anderson? Does Chase have a target on his back for cleaning out Webb? Does Hunter have  target on his back for annihilating roczen? Does Roczen have a target on his back for cleaning out Webb 10 times 10 years ago? Does Mookie have a target on his back for destroying Anderson multiple times years ago? Does James Stewart and Chad Reed have targets on their back in the paddock for cleaning each other out 300 times? I’m just curious

^^
Deagen alone, has taken out more than people this season than have been taken out in the 450 class (some of the examples are 10 years old)

I think Roczens comment on Hunters “take out” (which was far from a deliberate move) says it all. “He doesn’t do that stuff”

The 450s has been great, hard racing and clean. These guys are giving it 100%, but occasionally you see them pull back, because to keep going in, would be “dirty”.

He’s taken out a singular person in Max Anstie this season. Do you actually watch?

Fair enough. Time going too fast. Probably thinking WSX.
I’m still smarting after Davies, and the appalling crap he tried on Jo.

One deliberate take out of his teammate, who was ahead on points, is probably more than the deliberate take outs in the 450 class.

I watch every race

Yeah that Jo stuff. Remember when Drew Adams did that to exact same thing to Kaven Benoit I’m sure you were very appalled at that as well.

Daytona is the most "Outdoor" SX track in the series.  It's has suspension and tuning challenges but a great transition course for Deegs to test the bike, body and the competition.

I also do not see the point in Deegan throwing a leg over for 450 SX. I do have to think he’s been primarily riding the 450 this whole time, though, similar to what Jett did for training during his last 250 SX season. I’m sure Deegan will be plenty comfortable on the big bike and ready to battle at the first outdoor gate drop.

he's used to being the big fish in a little pond and moving to the premiere series makes him a little fish in the big pond. There does seem to be some camaraderie amongst the established 450 guys that have raced together many years now. The new guy will have to earn their respect and not coming in expecting their respect. His history of attitude and some behaviors might make that harder.

I've said this before but he's just turned 20.  Not every 20 year old can do what dungey did and win both 450 titles his rookie year.

He's stepped up his sx speed a notch on the 250,  it was a good move to wait.

He is collecting money and championships.  I think it is a smart move.

He does clearly look ready to move up though.

Agreed, those with short memories he rode 450 in the off season and got smoked, they (Deegans) abruptly changed plans for this season, he brings interest to the series and is a great rider but still is a dikhed imho. (-;

It would be awesome to see him pull up on Friday at press day with a 450. He’s earned it, regardless.

earned it? seems more like entitled to me, without having to struggle and really prove anything outside of a couple seasons beating inferior riders in 1 class.

The only thing you are correct about is that Haiden is beating inferior riders

...because none of them are on his level.

This was by far the funniest thing to happen all year last year. The way it was completely not acknowledged by anyone on the broadcast, the way it was in pretty poor taste during a military ceremony. Couldn't script it better. I was laughing my ass off.
