You guys are always asking what type of content we would like to see. I would love to see Deegan’s and Kitchen’s heart rate information from tonight’s main event race, synced up to a lap chart. Can you make it happen? Never hurts to ask.
I also think the broadcast should incorporate all the riders heart rate bpm into the rider legend during the race.
I love this idea.
Cool idea. But...I can 99% that they won't give us their heart rate data, though.
They should incorporate everything that F1 does while they're at it ...
Speed, G-forces, live POV cameras. That would be so awesome.
So you’re saying there’s a chance? 😀
Maybe someday feld will step up and improve the circus by implementing this. Our athletes might eventually get some respect from the general public who thinks, “Athletes? Oh please, they are just riding bikes”.

What i’m about to say may be slightly off topic, but I did two speeches about different parts of the sport for an online public speaking class, one being about differences between sx and mx(track design, track building, etc) and the other being about how there needs to be less off weeks and a more balanced schedule. The feedback i got from both of those were people mainly saying they were suprised at how little off days the riders get and how different the tracks are. As well as their training and how they are always at risk of injury when riding the bike. I got my info from some trusted websites, and my own knowledge from podcasts and videos, etc.
Hey, ya never know until ya ask!
Yes, all the riders are being beat down by this meat grinder schedule, it's absolutely insane. As far as the general public, I can't tell you how many times I've been in places where I'm the only rider amongst a bunch of jocks, we start talking about Supercross or Motcross, and they make asinine claims about how easy it is to ride a bike (as if they could do it with no fitness involved), and how baseball/football players are such more extreme athletes, etc etc. And then I ask them if they want to come ride with me, and the excuses start flowing.
This has been said for 2 decades... u just don't understand feld dgaf about a good product... all they care about is cash... off of someone else's spines and minds
Maybe if other sports and motorsports continue to bring this data to their audiences Feld might get the clue. At minimum, we should have all seen Levi's and Deegan's heart rates last night on the broadcast ticker. Would also be nice to see the HR spikes for times like when Hunter took Roczen down.
Can you imagine RC trying to tell you about heart rates. Screen would say 160bpm and Ricky would call it out at 1600rpm
There was a time 10-15 years ago where we would get some HR data during races. I’m sure trainers probably wanted to put a stop to that.
Honestly I would settle for lap times and segments times. They can’t even give us those anymore.
cheers for this. Gave me a snort!
are riders actually wired up with devices to collect that data and transmit while they race?
Can someone tell me why this is? I’m sure it’s for training but I’m ignorant on the subject. What advantages could be gained from it?
I could see a case where Deegan, Jett, or someone else possibly has a noticeable lower or higher heart rate than everyone else, then everyone would start claiming PEDS or stimulants, cheating, etc. But, if Feld would mandate it, every rider participating would have no choice but to wear one and be included in the live feed.
They have been doing this in downhill mtb worldcup for a couple years I think and the data is so off or delayed somehow.
25 year old world class athletes with something like 156bpm in the middle of a max effort 3-4min run...yeah right.
🤣
Well you would be telling your competition about your endurance and when or why you start getting tired.
Pit Row
We need a camera to get live onboard views. MotoGP has very tiny cameras in the helmet.
Wasn't it a few years ago when LitPRO was more involved they showed us heart rate during the broadcast?
I thought they showed heart rates at some point as well?
I think we should start by asking Deegs what brand of bow he uses . Maybe incorporate it into the broadcast for a shiny new sponsorship LOL
Several years ago they showed the riders heart rates during a SX race..
Would be interesting to see telemetry in the outdoors…
