But he is a professional Motorsport announcer…the fact that you literally admit he isn’t one, says exactly why people don’t like him in that role.
He’s a great racer and a terrible commentator and we have to listen to him fumblefuck his way through every sentence for hours, round after round, year after year…he adds zero insight and struggles to string a single coherent sentence together.
He couldn’t be any more fake and just not comfortable in that role. It’s just a round peg and square hole type of thing. He simply doesn’t belong in that position.
He actually says it “A-Hunnerrrrrrd percent”
His explanation of Tomac trippling onto the table compared to Coopers sequence was horrendous. Iv no idea what he was on about
He is a former champion who adds color and texture, with Jason Weigandt as the professional announcer. Duh. Same with ALL the other former riders who do it. David Bailey, David Pingree, Grant Langston, James Stewart, and many more. None were professional sports announcers. None were ever SUPPOSED to be professional sports announcers, nor does anyone who understands their role expect them to be. Pingree once said in the middle of an outdoor race broadcast, "It's one of those mysteries of life like why the Roman Empire fell, or why asparagus makes your pee smell funny." I laughed for 5 minutes. Maybe your panties are in a twist because you have a basic fact about the entire situation WRONG.
I, and a hell of a lot of other people, like listening to him and other former champions in the booth. We laugh about the imperfections that they all have as announcers. It adds to the true blue-collar, humble origins nature of the sport and keeps it more genuine in a world of fake news, fake politics, fake money, and real corruption. I personally love coming here during the week after the races to laugh at the circle-jerk threads of gomers all huffing and puffing about, "Can you believe what Ricky said THIS week?"🤡

Feld and or Peacock (NBC) or whoever employs RC they are never getting rid of him. Because of who he is and his accomplishments in the sport he aint going nowhere. So well be posting one of these rants in 10 years if the sport is still going LOL
There’s always 1-2 dudes in these threads saying “I’m better and smarter than you and I like RC therefore he’s fine and everyone just loves complaining”. Pilot dude always does this

No actually he has improved. He still sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles at times and struggles to get phrases out. But he has been a little better.
Overall he went from a D to a C minus.

I mentioned being a lawyer because precision in language is part of my job and despite that, RC doesn’t bother me. That point seems to have been missed, which makes your response more of a reading comprehension failure than a disagreement.
Imagine thinking “I’m trained to nitpick language and this doesn’t bother me” is a superiority play. Quite the opposite. That says more about you and those who downvoted me than the actual comment.
Finally, RC is in the booth for the same reason plenty of former NBA and NFL players are: relatability and credibility... and not eloquence. Broadcasts are about keeping eyeballs on the product. If fans hated him, NBC wouldn’t keep him there. It’s really that simple.

NBC puts him in the booth because he’s a 15x champ and it’s looks good to new viewers which is what NBC cares about.
Among the core audience I would say the majority are indifferent or dislike him.
At this point its literally a humiliation ritual keeping rc behind the mic.... or it's a fukkk you to us fans... either way the quality of our televised events are at an all time low... fn wide world of sports in the 80s was miles ahead of this garbage... both audio and video..
So just double down on the fact you're right and everyone else is wrong, maybe that will work.
We ALL know why RC is in the booth. He's not relatable for the vast majority of watchers, and he is LOSING credibility with his nonsense opinions and so-called "knowledge."
A couple weeks ago he made the points of Roczen being hard to beat at the end of a race, and Anderson isn't the type of rider to ride aggressive. What's your lawyer-enabled, precision language-expert take on those RC nuggets of wisdom?
Yep. And he still got it wrong. He said Craig ran into another bike which was not even close to right. Anderson torpedoed him.
The whole broadcast is NBC’s B team. Producer down it’s all B team. That’s why the broadcast is laughable
Yeah, that one was cringe. Overall though, Ricky does a good job and besides Bailey there's none else currently I'd rather have in that spot. AC's voice is too nasally, and JB isn't a legend of the sport, good in the booth for sure. Of course I'm biased, RC will always be the man to me. I appreciate having him involved in the sport like he is.
Overall he does a good job lmfao. Wow.
All I can think about when I see AC on TV giving his take.
