Could be the new Beta RX 250f. Looking at the images, the timing chain appears to be on the right side, which on 450 RX its on the left.  Also, the cylinder looks shorter, so potentially a smaller displacement. I'm hoping for a high-revving RX 250f!  😎

It is.

Potentially a tough choice between this bike and the Ducati.

Different frame, engine mounts, stator cover completely different, unique headpipe, etc...

If not a 250RX (I'd say it is), it's still something completely new for Beta.  A lot of test riding on that chassis based on the paint missing from the lower frame rails.

Or it's a KTM dressed in Beta drag for comparison testing purposes! Ha!

It's hard to see but up on the shroud by the gas cap. It says 250 in the graphics.

Rear brake pedal is there. Can see the pivot and master rod attachment behind the boot. If you look close you can see the black outline of the pedal arm under his boot. Just happens to match up perfectly with the edge of the clutch cover.

Does it say 250 or 350…? And, no, not tryin’ to be a smart ass.

Answer: inquired with the Beta Brain Trust…it’s a 250.

I thought the same thing initially, but looking closer I think it's camera angle and the bike leaning.

I think I saw on gatedrop.com that Beta was testing a 250. Would be cool to see a guy or two on one in sx.

I’ll probably go Beta if available this fall.  Really good Beta dealer in the Houston area.

Would you rather see him on the 250 or 450 outdoors?

I would rather see the 450, and unless beta lines the pockets of ama, or releases it before June/july the AMA homologation would rule out the possibility of the 250.

What did Honda do when the brothers showed up on “Next Years” model a coupl’a years ago?

I’m thinkin’ there’s a way…

As for why I’d rather see ZachO on the 250? Because I’m pretty sure he’d have more fun. Hell, I think he should race the RX 250 2T at a coupl’a Canada 🇨🇦 rounds.

Hence the ‘line the pockets of the AMA.

Although I suspect Honda just showed up with it and said yea we are racing this. No way the AMA would have the stones to tell Honda they couldn’t race it.  The tail wags the dog when it comes to professional moto.

Hopefully its a 250F but i also hope beta knows they need to move away from their "rideability" mindset when it comes to 250F's. All of their lineup is down on power compared to the japanese and the austrians. A 250F with no motor is a surefire way to fail.

I have a Beta 450RX and it's not slow, definitely in line with other 450's I've owned and ridden.     The power delivery on the Beta is nice though, less spinning and less tiring than the Yamaha I was riding before it.

If you want to go with the HP charts, the Beta is ahead of Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki.

Here's the 2024 peak HP from MXA and Keefer says the Beta peaks at 57.8 hp.

What's it like to ride and how's the reliability? I like the way the ergos look on them and I've been thinking about getting one. Also do you notice the ecu being a bit janky? I've heard a few different people say it feels like a quickshift when you clutch it

I really like it. I got a new '24 leftover last May and have 70h on it.

It Rides Great!
-Plenty of power, but smooth power, no jerkiness like other EFI 450's. (Noticeably less arm pump and fatigue)
-Engine is very mid range, smooth down low with not as much overrev as the Jap bikes. It's also geared WAY too tall. Stock was 13-50, I went to 12-52 and only need 4th on rare occasion.
-Excellent stability, well balanced, corners really good, front end tracks through chop better than any bike I've ridden.
-Ergonomics are slightly taller than Jap bikes, makes it easier for me to go from sitting to standing, but took a little more time to dial in bar and fork position for cornering. I like the stock bend but the bars are too wide, had to cut.
-Clutch is holding up good (still original) and hydro system working well
-Brakes are really good
-Suspension is great, forks needed a little more bottoming resistance, so I added 30cc of oil.  Didn't touch the valving.
-Checked valve clearances at 35h, within spec but shimmed 2 to be closer to the middle of spec.

IMO the overall quality is not as good as Yamaha but better than Kawasaki.

The Bad
-Stock Footpegs were terrible (updated for '25 and newer)
-Rear brake pedal / clevis has too much free play (FASST clevis fixed it)
-Stepper motor (EFI air flow regulator) was defective, caused inconsistent running issues and stalling (Beta dealer helped diagnose and they gave me a replacement part for free) I suspect most of the ECU issues people experience are because they need to reset the stepper motor (start cold bike and let it idle for 10 min, no throttle input. Otherwise, the stepper motor will adjust while riding, but runs weirdly for ~30 minutes if big temp/humidity changes from last ride.
-Motor mounts come loose, I added a crush washer to take up extra space between the frame at the 2 lower mount bolts, haven't come loose again.
-Small burr on radiator cap had to be removed to get the cap off
-Waterpump impeller was too snug, found coolant in the oil, added a washer under the acorn nut for a little free play and it works great now.
-Paint on the frame isn't holding up well
-OEM Parts availability could be better, if I break something Sunday, replacement won't arrive by the next weekend. - Thankfully my local Beta dealer has a good stock and many parts are compatible to other Beta's. Most parts have been priced normally, but 450RX throttle cable is $141 😅 (Aftermarket parts availability is adequate)

I’ll take a 6 speed enduro version along with a second mortgage please.

Not hit on Beta prices. A new dirt bike is just not in the budget but maaaaan it would be gooood.

Id like to hear more about this water pump impeller thing. You said a washer under the acorn nut, assuming that would be between the nut and the impeller, how does this give anything more "free play"? Ive serviced hundreds of water pumps across all of the major manufacturers, i just cant picture in my head the problem you found and how your fix resolved it.
