No one ever denied his speed, just needs to not wash the front, not hit the gate, and not go off the track and he is a serious threat to win every time he lines up.
He crashed in the heat, so it’s not like everything is perfect, but he showed when he gets out front and just does his thing, he is untouchable.
Congrats to Chase. He needs to buy Forkner and McElrath dinner.

For real, when the stars align he is phenomenal. I’m so glad he kept his head in the main, we could be lining up a good title fight.

I thought he still looked a little uncomfortable in the main. Stoked he won, though. From the peasant TV view I had, that bike looked like it wanted to fall apart when he put on a full charge to the front in the first bit. After that it seemed like he just got out and maintained his 2-3 seconds, which is good and also uncharacteristic of Chase.
Still really glad they gave Prado’s bike to Marchbanks and Ando’s fast bike to Chase.
Chase has every physical tool to be the best rider on the planet. He is lacking nothing…. His mistakes are very mental. Hitting the gate is probably the best example. He thinks he’s “timing” the gate drop which is remarkably high risk. I do think last year he had some issues with the shock and we often just blamed him, KTM does have a whole new shock this year.
But on those occasions when he’s got it all together, he doesn’t get beat.
Box a chocolates, was on it for sure ! Certainly proved there’s nothing wrong with the Kawi…. Bike or the team! Of course we all knew that ….💯
recycling used bikes as hand me downs for new riders makes for a good chuckle, but brand-new builds are more likely 🙂
Chase's title to lose....imho
Between Chase and Eli, coop is still in it, because both Chase and Eli come in to every weekend and could win or get 7th and neither would surprise you that much
Congrats Sexton, when he rides to his ability and the bike is working well it is amazing how good he is.
He's far from untouchable IMO. Those guys were close to him the entire main and Tomac for one wasn't loving something. Whether it was the track or set up. Tomac and probably Hunter have just as much speed as Chase. The difference is, Chase will hit the dirt when he is pushed. I thought Kenny would continue to be a threat but I'm not sure he has the speed for 20 minutes.
Lawrence wasn’t going to beat him.
As RC said in the broadcast Sexton seemed to be just managing the 2.5 second lead. Allowing them to stay that close, as most of the good guys do now.
I would say this is very much Tomac's title to lose. Chase has proven only that he can win with a good start. He definitely did not dominate though. If Tomac keeps getting good starts, he will be very hard to beat in this championship. He is mentally as strong as any rider on the gate and rarely makes bonehead mistakes like Chase.
RC says a lot of crap on the broadcast that is simply false or ignorant. He was the man on a motocross bike and my favorite but some of the crap that comes out of his mouth is ridiculous. Hunter would have pushed Chase if not for some lappers. Eli was right there until the last couple laps and had some issues passing guys and was just having an off night. You could tell he wasn't happy with something even after his heat win.

I thought that was a pretty cool clip with those two and the track builders. I like seeing the behind the scenes stuff and the different riders interacting with each other.

Yes RC certainly says some silly things but also many insightful things, this being one of them and it was accurate.
