What moto holiday gift stands out in your mind from back in the day?

For me, it's the only one I ever got! Smile

A Torsten Hallman visor with the flip down option. Circa '74..

HiPoint boots from my parents, and Hallman leathers from my grandparents in the same year. I was in heaven.

They were about $75 each, dealer's cost, if I recall. 1975 Christmas.

I got an FMF "Roost Boost" canister for my 82 KX80.

It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen (at that age I had not seen tits yet).

Sad part was I never even installed it because I got an 83 KX80 about 3 months later and from that moment on the 82 and everything associated with it became shit. That freeking 83 KX80 was the coolest MXer ever (to me and at least a few other people).

Also I was 13 years old and it took a masters degree in engineering to install the FMF roost boost canister. The 83 KX80 made me give up on the engineering degree.

I had one of those visors, loved it.

For X-mas my favorite was my Torsten Hallman leathers, the ones with the quitled knee padding. I think they came out with the inserts the next year.

Christmas 1985 was all moto,Santa brought.......

1986 KX 80 (a couple of weeks early)

JT halfbreed gloves

JT blue pants and jersey

Sidi "Carla" blue boots

And a JT ALS-1, that was too big (and I wanted full face anyways), so he took it
back and brought me a Lime Green Shoei.

Maybe Santa heard JT is back and there will be somethin' I actually want under
the tree this year, doubtful though.............

You know how they say "take the trophy, you'll just spend the money but you'll always have the trophy" well..... I still have the trophys.

And the Xmas present ? SCOTT BOOTS.
Don't have the boots anymore but still have the SCARS (knee surgery trophys)

Subscription to MXA and Dirt Bike in 1974. That and allowing me to spend my own money on bikes and go racing was about the only validation my folks gave to my motorcycling.

A close second....The R.A.W. Method casette by David Bailey..

Two decade's later ...A Gary Semics DVD / work book carried me to the next level.
But back in the day I was Jon'sin for the Book and Pshyche Tape !!
Raw Method? Funny coincidence because a good friend recently showed me his lost, and now found copy of the RAW method tape. We were a couple of the original test riders for it.

Still have my original Lackey book as well.

I remember one Christmas Eve that we stayed late at AWARD MOTORS because we sold a ton of Honda kick&go's and delivered them in the evening.

HiPoint boots were the best, I remember everybody getting the Scotts and the vive was that they couldn't feel the pedals.

Gave my HiPoints to my nephew, bet they still do justice.
