got 6th.
21 points done.
Is it time to panic? He looked off most of the night and we haven't seen his trademark intensity and racecraft at all.
#1 plate holders don’t panic. They adapt. Don’t write Webb off.
I’d agree. He looked fast at A1 but had a touch of shit luck. Last night he was a little off… getting taken out didn’t help his cause. No need to panic yet.
After Chase passed him and he went down, he didn’t have any fire in his belly. He rode ok, nothing embarrassing, but it wasn’t a good night for Webb.
I was across the stadium from that pass, couldn’t see any detail. But two went into the corner and only one came out..

15 points out of second place with 15 more races. He is fine.
These tracks are too fast for him imo, he doesn’t have that Eli/Chase/Kenny pure speed. You see this out of him with these hauling ass tracks, he’ll be better once they’re on the east coast/rutty/tighter tracks. But damn he’s gotta stop the bleeding quick.
He’ll be in championship contention at the half way point. Happens every year.
Webb is cooked
Just wait till around Houston. He will climb his way back into it. He’s only 13 back of Ken. And we know Eli will have an off round or two.
Yeah, this is concerning. There are signs of life and speed, but the first two rounds of 7-8 are pretty hard to crawl out of.
15 races to go, 375 points available to grab; no need to panic.
Webb is exactly where he belongs. He is a second tier guy who often gets great starts and never throws points away. He wins when all the stars self destruct and hand it to him. Everything he has won is more an embarrassment to the top guys than an accomplishment for him. And he is disgustingly arrogant about it too.
He should probably try arenacross. Might be a true top guy there.
😂
I'm not really a Webb fan, but to say 3 SX titles got handed to him? That's just idiotic.
Great starts and not throwing any points away is certainly something he's got going for him, but facts don't lie. What true star of this sport has ever been completely and entirely irrelevant in one of the two disciplines in the premier class? Holistically, he is squarely in tier 2 territory. If you want to talk SX only that's fine, but I see SX as just a money making side show to the real sport in the summer.
How come no one is crying about sexton taking Webb out but they are pissed about Deegs taking Antsie out?
Not taking a side but in regard to the question I would say it’s pretty obvious one of those riders has established a pattern and the other hasn’t.
Pit Row
Anstie gave Deegan room to let him pass. Deegan still couldn’t manage to make the pass clean.
Would you say the same about Sexton?
Taken out both races.
Because sexton put a move on him 10x worse than deegan did to max...
Am I crazy to think 21 points back after just 2 rounds is actually kind of a lot? He was only 4 points out of it after round 2 last year and only 10 points out after round 3 last year. To me, it is concerning when his main competition seems to be clearing him each week.
No
This year is different .
For him to claw his way back into it at this point he would need Roczen , Tomac , Hunter, and Sexton all to have bad races , on the same night , or multiples, and that likelihood is extremely low , imo.
It is a lot, specially with the speed gap looking bigger than usual imo. But who knows, Webb is a gamer and a lot can happen in 15 rounds.
Nah, one bad race or mechanical from each guy in front of him and the gap is gone.
I believe a top 5 would have been probable last night if he wouldn’t have been Chased. It’s not a stretch to think he could have passed the 21 and the 17 to get into 4th and an incident-free pass by Chase would have still been a top 5.
I would say precisely the opposite about Sexton. He is a star with all the speed and talent to dominate everybody every time he is on the track. He's been a true contender right to the end in every championship he's contested. He unfortunately often gets terrible starts, and makes dumb mistakes and throws away points in droves. So yeah, exactly the opposite.
Had Chase not taken him down, he’d have followed him all the way to the top 4, and who would bet against him putting on a last lap pass to get 4th?
It was a shame he went down.
