Current model def looks better. The new one has too much plastic on the rear end...

I get the reason why the airbox would be designed the way it is but I can’t help but think a taller rider that moves around on the bike a lot would at some point get possibly snagged? I’m just a slow vet B guy but my side panels get killed by my legs.

Back end is almost identical to a 2007

I'd be more concerned about dirt, water, and debris getting inside.

I’m personally not a big fan of all these open airboxes nowadays. Every bike now feels like it has them, even the 2022+ redesigned YZ two strokes have an opening/inlet for air now.

I don’t notice the .5 extra hp, and now I gotta tape up the openings every time I wash my bikes, or use an aftermarket airbox cover.

That rad shroud sticks out farther that’s those ‘99 ‘00 RMs. Why the long point? They need to shorten the rear fender a bit if they shortened the front.

Don't have to worry about that with Stark 😉

Past 2 ktms I bought, 18 and 24 had closed airboxes.  The vents were an option.

KTMs come with two different airbox covers. You can choose to use the non-vented. It’s not a problem.

With graphics on it, the rad shrouds don’t look as bad. Airbox thing is way too big. I’m not that opposed to the shorter front fender. It would be an easy fix to shave a little off the back fender.

You guys need to stop with this AI slop. “Looks shorter” yeah probably because the AI completely reshaped the shroud on its own and made it shorter than the real thing.

Then the ones posted by aiTim afterwards also just recreated their own plastics. Just stop.

I’m not talking about the side covers. Underneath the seat on 24 KTMs, there are two big grab holes that vent air directly into the airbox. I just tape them up.

Once my bike was caked in mud and I stuffed a rag in there to wash.  Other than that have not worried about it and so far so good.

The 26 fe has those holes plated over in addition to a new air intake. I assume 2027 regular models will be the same.

I’m looking at a pic of the 2026 Factory now, and I’m still seeing the holes under the seat..

The hole under that gap that lets air get to the air filter has a plastic plug in it now

Ahh I see. I’ll have to check that out.

I think the GasGas are more closed off, but I haven’t seen the latest 2026s in the wild yet.

my 450 xcf-w has the same holes but comes stock with a plastic plug keeping it solid. I popped it out once to see the difference and literally felt nothing, so I put it back in just to keep water and dust out.

Don’t have to worry about having friends either 😂. I kid but Caden is rapidly approaching theycallmebryan territory

The 250 FE has that plug too now. The 250 also has a different air boot and filter cage than last year but still the same filter foam.

Here is the parts fiche for the 450 FE. It looks like there are three pieces blocking the underseat vent.

I was told the air filter is the same as 2025 but the PN is different so it is probably different too.

I just checked the parts fiche and the Gasgas has the same air filter and cage as the 26 FE. It also has three parts under the subframe that are marked FIM regulation cover. I assume those block off the vent holes on the gasgas.

You really checked the parts fiche on the 26FE?
