It is totally true.
They ask you how many socks you might have, how many tshirts, how many pants. It takes hours! I got so fed up with them! I wanted to walk out, but my wife settled me down. The whole thing with the insurance companies was a nightmare. The fire was bad enough, ,but dealing with these fools was even worse!
That sounds like a horrible inconvenience........
Of course they ask you how much stuff you had. That's the purpose of insurance, to make you "whole" again. In order to do that you have to identify what was lost. A few hours seems pretty reasonable when you are talking potentially six figures of loss.
And I don't think there is any homeowners policy that is written for what a house is "worth". It's to rebuild the house. Obviously those two numbers could be very different.
Your homeowners policy states what they will pay to rebuild your home. Did you ever question the amount or tell them you thought the amount was too low? Most people simply want a low premium and forget what the whole purpose of the policy is.
I know its a big price to ask someone to give away something like that but I bet it would mean the world to him.

Skip the rider down and others personal tragedy threads if they're so bothersome to you then.
Anyway, apparently Troy Lee and a bunch of Doug's friends are getting together to help over the next couple of Thursdays. Check this out...

"It has been cool to see such an outpouring of help from the motocross community. For Troy Lee, his staff, RJ, Wardy, and those guys to step up like this is just unbelievable; I can't thank them enough." - Doug Henry
It is called being fiscally prudent... if more Americans were, we wouldn't be in these hard times.
On a different note, this might wake some poeple up to either make sure you have replacement cost ins, and also take "updated" pics of ALL your contents and keep it in a safety deposit box at your bank. All those trophys and jerseys??? Wow, that has got to be a monumental loss, not to mention helmets and bikes.
I know that I sit down with my ins guy every year and make sure everything is covered. I try to put each years pics on CD's and put them in the lock box at the bank. Some moto but mostly family.
Best of luck to The Henry Family.
