Testing. Its the one thing I got to enjoy being a part of and seeing a handful of times. But if I could have 1 thing a factory rider has its the ability to pull up to the track and have a techs ready to help dial it in.

This is what I would want. Constant testing and availability of parts to make the bike perfect!

I've had the privilege to ride a set of spec tires and you immediately feel the difference which equates to a bunch more confidence.

It's very hard to pick one perk of a factory rider but overall, it's being in the position of arriving on race day and everything is catered for.

Funny how over the decades they've made "factory team" such an elite thing.. when it's NOT anymore.. it would amaze you how little some of these factory guys get.... look at the Star team.. where if you aint the cringe lord, you aint getting ANYTHING cool... hell, remember when they benched Dax?? kid needed starts, but his team was like "naw, we hired you but because you had some bad races, we are gonna just bench you".. when what the kid needed was race time.... LOL.... heard of many a factory bike that wasn't even as good as stock... hell Macklewrath holeshot a national on a bike straight from a dealer a couple years ago...

now, back in the day with works bikes... then you actually had factory teams... now days its more like you have a pit crew and a free bike... loved it this year when ET3 was like "i feel like i'm on a real factory team" when he switched to KTM... same for DF and Ducati....

oh and.. if you have a serious injury... just watch how fast your "factory team" runsssssss away from you...

Monster girls.

🤪

Ya, just ask Josh Hill about his trip to a SX in South Africa (2014)

His hotel room was next to mine and he had three monster chick's in there all night.

He won the SX and pulled all the Monster chicks.

Monster SX 2014. Loftas Stadium, Pretoria. South Africa.

Two new tires everytime you toss a leg over the bike would be awesome.   Factory Suspension if I could make 2 wishes!!!

Tires are the ONLY part of the bike that touches the ground.   "Hopefully".

Not needing to have any mechanical sympathy because a factory tech is going to fix whatever I break and I won't have to pay a dime. I'd be so much faster.

Bikes fully prepped, by people I can trust, every time I ride.

And the girls, but I’d want them to bring their moms… and the moms would probably still be too young for me…

And likely too plump at their current age. 😄

A private track available year round...no-brainer for me! I would ride every day of my life if I could.

That's why the light switch has an "OFF" position. 😆

I've rode with them to. Its crazy how you can have an issue with bike handling and throw a set of specs on and it can make your issues go away or sometimes make it worse.

So many times my wallet limited my pace. Not like im super fast but there's been times where im like i can do that no problem but if it goes bad. Me and the bike will be throw aways.

The Bike

12/19/2025 12:46pm

As an old slow guy that doesn't need a great bike to have fun. I don't know how many years I rode and never rode new tires on a track. We rode mostly desert until I had a "track" bike. And by that time whenever I had new tires on the bike my son would ride them first, and by the time I got them, they had no sharp corners. The first time I rode with new set of tires, I was blown away, I could not believe the difference. I'd love to feel that every time I ride. Do I need it? No, would it be awesome? 100%

Private jets for travel. Being a top athlete in a major sport and flying southwest is a joke. Being on a factory team and having travel completely taken care of and not having to deal with general public airports would suck.

I am not in the "insider" club at all, so excuse my ignorance but are private jets still a common way for the factory guys to get to each race? If so, do they group up and share the expense or just take their personal entourage?

I recall back in the "big money" days of JS7, RC, and Reed they were playing ballers and flying private.

But other than special occasion races or events, I didn't know private jets were still a common option for the top guys?

I guess I know Deegan often flies private because he brags and posts it online, but the other guys must keep it more private.

Most of your factory guys still fly public, and they're given a travel allowance per their team contract per round. It's not even close to enough to cover a private jet flight.

There's the end of the thread right there. It'd also be nice to have a perfectly set up, professionally prepped bike with fresh tires, a factory ECU and A Kit suspension for every ride, but I don't want to get greedy.
