I think after him and his wife split up he pretty much went offline.
Last I remember he had to leave the homestead in afton and was living somewhere up in the mountains between greenville, tn and asheville.
I am not sure anybody that has been here less than 10 years could survive a hillbilly rant.
Man, if somebody got him and pro125 on a podcast a lot of heads might explode.
Loved me some hillbilly rants! Hope he’s doing okay. That last sentence Joe…absolute gold! 😂
Has hillbilly and pro125 ever been seen in a room at the same time together?
Edit:sp
His rant about the drunk entering his house at 2AM was epic. I wouldn't mind hearing it again.

Miss Dave. And Lenny.
Another good one was his experience racing the “Super Bowl of Motocross” in Atlanta Fulton County stadium.
Love Hillbilly, great insight and a definite old school mind!
All I know is if he was still around those kids wouldn’t be messing around on the golf carts at mini os…
WTF is wrong with you?
A Motodrive legend. IYKYK
I raced Dave a time or two. He's one of my own kind. Len and I both love moto. He's a James fan. I'm a RC fan. Just like my best friend was a Tripes fan and I was a Hannah fan. Did we take it too far with the bickering? Sure we did. The thing about Dave and Lenny, beyond the love of moto, is that they would tell you what they think. No filter. No subterfuge. Definitely NOT politically correct. I can respect that.
One story of his I remember was that he had a problem with air getting somewhere in his shocks that he was rebuilding, I believe it was a husky but not sure.
How did he solve his air infiltration?
Put the shock completely submerged in oil, and put it all together submerged!
Hillbilly was a genius! 😂
Pisto~
I can tell you, back in the late 80's early 90's, he could go pretty good on those cagivas.
Then he would load them up in his school bus. I got behind him once on the interstate, and he had the old bus running better than those cagivas. I always wanted to see him wheelie the bus up a hill on a bet.
He is core old school moto.
He came to my track, parker valley, a good bit and always made a point to come by and say "hey" and thank me for a fun day, even on a muddy day.
Hey gave me a jar of his moonshine probably at least 15 years ago (maybe 20 years?) at Muddy Creek when I drove down there to race. Cool guy and enjoyed hanging out with him! And the shine was good!
Do you have any of that shine left? Hillbilly was wild!
Hillbilly was all about his open bike Huskies and Cagivas.
Pro125 thinks his 1993 CR125 was the fastest bike ever.
Don't think they are the same person, although they tell similar stories and type with the same grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors. But Hillbilly was a good dude.
Good shine don't last long. . . .😁
Good shine is SMOOTH, almost like drinking water. . .almost
Earl May got busted up this week at the Mini O’s. It’s tough getting old
Pit Row
I met him once at the Atlanta Supercross when he was hanging out in TFS’ motorhome; great guy.
Dave is/was a good dude, and made it interesting.
Can't help but thinking about Dave's Loretta's stories every year during the buildup to LL's, also the DV white helmet every time his name is mentioned brings a little chuckle.
I had a couple of mason jars show up from UPS my own self....
Billy Hill was an OG motodrive member, a real character and a good guy who was not afraid to speak his mind. He could spin some rants that were epic and he was usually down for meeting up in person. Thanks for bringing up his name, Tim.
I don’t get in here much these days, but it’s nice to see a few of the old gang still talking smack and NOT pushing up daisies. That said, it’s just not the same without an occasional BobbyM-ism to stir the pot. Is he banned for life, or what’s the deal?

Bad moto the next day
What happened?
I sent him a bunch of pads from my old skate shop for his kids or grandkids that were just getting into skating. I shipped 'Slaw-o' a pair of Etnies skate shoes to Germany around the same time. Both were guys I never met in person, but they felt like friends.
I hope Hillbilly is in a good place.
Good crew of people around the old Bushwood & Motodrive boards back in the day.
"Hammertime" here. Those were fun times back at Bushwood. Lots of laughs and cut downs were allowed.
Yep. My buddy Earl is in the bidet protocol.🙄 He's tough as nails and will be back.
Someone neglected to turn left just before the drop into the pit at Gatorback on lap one and Earl was on their outside. Instant highside. Damage to both arms.
YEP, EARL BROKE HIS ARM BUT HE'S ALREADY GOT IT FIXED. HOMER IS TOUGHER THAN A $2 WAFFLE HOUSE STEAK, HELL BE BACK ON THAT 450 SOON.
