With how crappy the CAN dollar is, Callus Moto is a great deal for you guys down south. Owned by Canadian MX legends Mitch Cooke and Tyler Medaglia.

Callus™️ Moto – Callus Moto

I purchased a set of the techstar stuff last year on a sale and its okay. Honestly the best gear I have is my fox 180 kit that I got for less than $100 shipped. Pants fit great, dont move around. The prices in this sport are nuts.

Well…my wife plays pickleball. From the racket to the shoes and the pseudo tennis-outfits…all of it…

Makes the price of our gear look like a smokin’ deal! 🤣

Their riding vest is AWESOME! Just reached-out to Tyler to discuss a jacket based on that vest.

Thanks for sharing that. I’m kinda laughing at the fact that I had no idea! 🤣

When you go to their site you get a discount code (15%) and shipping is free over $199. The vest, some nice hoodies and casual wear for the fam…some MTB shorts…BOOM! 1st order done!

Thanks again!

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I coughed up $40 for the One Industries gloves (The golf style with the strap on top) and absolutely love them. I really want to try the One gear, but I just can't get myself to spend $380 -tax on a set of gear. Leftover Fly stuff from last year off the clearance rack for me...

Yes. Freaking expensive! I rode a friends 25' KX with tusk tires at the track a few weeks ago and they felt good. I think I'm going to try them next tire change.

I love the vest too. Light weight, easy to wash and good pockets. I wear mine skiing and running all the time too.

AJ their designer is a great dude too.

Wow, that's actually very interesting. It would be a funny video to see someone test 90's fox gear compared to 2026 fox gear lol

Do you have to “keep time” at the event? If so, are you doing it with a wrist-watch?! 🤣

If you are…that’s soooo Canadian and soooo…jus’…bad ass.

Hmmmmm…Gooderham in September? That’s sounds like a blast!

Pretty much everything I buy comes for motorcycle closeout.  I’m cheap!

Inflation is real and moto gear is definitely way overpriced. If I didn’t have connections for deep discounts, I would have a tough time justifying the current cost to purchase new gear.

Part of this problem, is the gear companies paying out millions to the riders to wear their gear. While I’m happy for the riders to be pulling in 7 figures, it has really taken a toll on the average Joe, purchasing gear for him and his kids. I can’t imagine how Alpinestars or Fox can turn a profit, with the money they put out in rider salaries.
Deegan just signed a $10,000,000.00 deal, how much gear has to be sold at full retail in order to recover just his salary ? Add on Roczen and all the other Fox athletes and it’s crazy they can turn a profit.
Alpinestars has to be the absolute king of salaries… with so many different Motorsports athletes being paid BIG money and the hundreds, maybe thousands, of athletes that they pay to wear their gear, I can’t imagine that they are profitable.
Have you priced a new high end helmet lately ? They are now in the $1000 range after tax and shipping even with a discount, it’s expensive !

The Alpinestars one has been especially tough for me to figure out.  If I'm not mistaken, they basically have like 4 of the top 10 450 racers?  (Tomac, Jett, Hunter, Sexton and Anderson).  And I rarely see anybody wearing Alpinestars gear.  Sure, lots of A-Stars boots, but not the pants and jerseys.  Maybe they only care about the riders wearing A-Stars jerseys as a way to sell more boots?  That still has to be a lot of boot sales!

In the 90s, high end gear was made in Finland.

Honestly the last Fasthouse stuff I bought in 2020-2022 is some of the only gear I’ve bought in the last 5 years that was worth the money. I believe the pants are the Grindhouse model and the jerseys vary in models. I do primary off-road and the stuff is tough as nails.

Just think of how much gear you'll be able to buy when we get the 2K from the prez.

Riding gear was significantly more durable and lasted much longer in the 90s than the thin, lightweight stuff that is prevalent today.

It was also not very comfortable and super hot to ride in. Pluses and Minuses.

I think you nailed it.

Alpinestar boots are everywhere, a lot of guys I know seem like they’re unaware of any other brand of boots. And they look down on my Sidis..

I never noticed that riding pants were too hot in the 80s-90s, but I sure notice how easy it is to destroy them now..

I completely agree.

And the durable pants they sold back then actually offered more protection than the modern stuff, as well.

This... i paid £125 for JT Bailey Honda pants in 1986.  and that was trade.  I just got a TLD kit for £75.

Kit is for free now, as long as you buy last years model in the worst colour.

This is actually so true. It’s hilarious, a basic fox moto pant I got passed down to me from my dad…is still in pristine condition today. I’m talking about 25 year old pants lol that he wore constantly when riding. Pure leather around the knees and good fabric. There’s not one whole in the pants…although the zipper did break unfortunately.

Fast forward to today I have to buy new pants every 2 months because the rip on the inside of my knee from squeezing the bike 🤦🏽‍♂️
