I am surprised they did it but to be honest its a stupid simple thing to do and if Eli wants it than why not.

It objectively adds no advantage in performance, a different feel yes, but for someone like Eli that can roast a clutch in 20 minutes he can tell when its starting to go and adjust his riding accordingly.

So he got the clutch he wanted, is it safe to assume he got the non-fading "Euro" shock as well?

My guess is: damn right he did.

I’m still getting a kick outta this “clutch issue” being the hype that everyone cares about…

Didn’t someone make a kit for this a few years ago?

Didn’t one of/some of their Dakar bikes run a cable?

There is a huge network of people who know all about this stuff and more, long before the media gets the information or is allowed to publish it.  This cable clutch thing is a perfect example as you can see I confirmed it yesterday.  The "breaking news" media posts today are old news to many people out there, as you just can't stop people from talking or exposing things in public locations.  Every rider has family, friends, accountants, therapists, trainers, financial advisers, attorneys, physical therapists, doctors, electricians, plumbers, etc. and every one of them has the same extended network.  They all talk about this stuff very open and freely because they trust we aren't running to social media or vitalmx to post it, and for the few who do visit here, we usually aren't spilling the beans.  And when someone does spill the beans, you get a bunch of pushback just like you did yesterday.  So the result?  I guess you perceive it as secrecy as you did, because it pushes people away from the rats nest here and they stop sharing.  Because why would you share it with a bunch of ungrateful f*cks who unfortunately ruin it for everyone else?

So information that some of you would love to hear like what Tomac thinks of the bike, the suspension, the power, etc., or how Prado looks on the KTM, or what Chase's first impressions of the bike are, will never make it here for that reason.  So unless you are part of the rider's close network, you'll only get the watered down PR or marketing version that the media is authorized to publish, and you'll be the last to know.

The only person who thinks it’s an issue is Eli(just listen to his answer about it when asked by Jace). And he got himself a cable.

Folks in here were just speculating whether he’d have one or not. Including you.

You guys are circling over some sort of in-the-know victory, I guess. It’s all good. There seems to be some sort of Gotcha-Game & I’m down a pew points….right?

Next thing ya know, El Hombré will show up with a Hydro on his RMZ and I’ll be behind the 8-ball on that…too.

🤣

So, are you guys gonna tell us what gear Garrett’s wearing? Or who the new truck driver at Star is gonna be? Inquiring minds wanna know. Right? 🤔

As a certified Tomosexual superfan, please DM me all tomac inside information and I will swear secrecy at the expense of my new RMZ.

Let's be honest here. This is such an easy thing to add to a bike with the capabilities of KTM. Its an extremely simple mechanical part. Any team should have no problem adding it to the bike. Except those green guys a few years back..

But, the man also said Eli is undecided on cable or hydro. Thought that was interesting.

I like that Roger D said he also likes the hydro and the team doesn’t care which he uses.

I still hate the KTM idea. But as long as ET has a factory bike to ride with a cable clutch and a scoop tire...I'm happy. But NO. I'm still not gonna be changing my avatar photo to the #3 pumpkin @ML512 ....🤣

We've all seen pictures of roger turning handles on the mill. Do the other teams have a competent fabricator on their team? My guess is if they want something one off they have to go through Japan? All the teams have top notch mechanics but mechanics are just that ,not to be confused with fabricators.

Hopefully once he retires he can talk about all the secret test he did at his ranch before signing to ktm. Would be interesting to see what he thought of the Ducati and the ktm at the time he tested it

Yeah he was really tight lipped about it with swap. It almost seemed like he gave don a look like "dude dont ask me that"

KTM has been perfecting the hydraulic clutch for 25 years and probably has millions of hours on them on their factory bikes and how to make them work. Much more reliable option than developing some sort of janky cable conversion deal they have no R&D time on.

Its no secret the KTM design of the actual guts of the clutch is the best OEM design out there, if you look at any of these full aftermarket clutch setups for Japanese bikes they are very similar.

The hydro clutch on my 2018 TC 250 was rubbish. Too short of a throw, it was practically binary. The hydro clutch on my 22 Honda is much closer to a cable, but still doesn't give as much haptic feedback.

Put the Kawi 450 master on and get the Arc power lever.

I sold it, went back to a 2006 CR250 for my 2T. It's my 3rd one, the other two burned up in a fire. Love the CR once you ditch the Mikuni. Oversized rotor and PC exhaust and let the good times roll. TC 250 just wasn't for me, I think the frame was designed for a heavier 4T engine and it just didn't seem right.
