That team is full of allstars and Ohtani still stands out.
How many teams have a 102mph pitcher with 55 home runs? Crazy.

What a performance tonight.

I’ve seen people describe that as the best performance ever by a baseball player in most any living person’s lifetime. 

I don’t think that’s hyperbole. 

Lots of pitchers have batted before the 2022 rule change that brought the DH to the National League. Some were decent hitters, but nothing close to the level of Ohtani and their hitting wasn’t enough for them to be in the batting order on the days they weren’t pitching. 

One guy that I wish would have given it a try is John Olerud. I went to school with him and got to see him up close when he actually had an argument for being both the best pitcher AND the best hitter in all of college baseball before he had his aneurysm. 

Went to the game last night. It was incredible. I witnessed history being made.

The only bats in the Brewers lineup were Caleb Durbin and Jackson Chourio. Dodgers pitching silenced Yelich and the rest. 

I do miss the old National League rules. Forced the teams into way more strategy involving double switches and pinch hitting.

Yup. MLB has been trying harder and harder to push me away over the last few years. The rules changes are one thing along with the cost of attending a game at Dodger stadium. It's about $400 for a family of four with parking, 4 hotdogs and drinks. They still sell more tickets than any other team in MLB.

MLB attendance and viewership overall has been trending up the past several years. I agree that some of the rules feel like a step back for older fans, but overall it's brought the numbers up as desired.

The wife and I attend just 2 dodger games a year or so, but didn't get out to a regular season game this year. This past Tuesday before game 2 I had a feeling about the sweep, so I bought tickets for game 4 and basically justified it as "You know we will regret it if we don't go!"... So glad it worked out!

As a Phillies fan ,I cant think of a team id I rather see clean out their lockers then the Dodgers. 

So, you'd like to see the Phillies clean out their lockers first THEN the Dodgers?

He speaks English relatively well.  He uses the interpreter mostly because he's afraid of missing nuance and creating misunderstanding.  Ichiro was similar in that he could speak English but was really worried about making a mistake that might sound offensive.

I didn't realise he spoke english until after they won the WS last year.
He has given speeches in english a few times.

A buddy at work is a big Phillies fan... I had a great time in the office a couple weeks ago. 🤣

 My son has gravitated towards baseabll pretty heavily and is a huge Harper fan. We decided the phillies would be our team . I'm also Bills fan and they have disappointment written all over them this season its starting to look like

I’ve been a fan of the dodgers since I was born I feel like, it runs through my mom’s side of the family, except a few aunts and uncles being angels fans. I’ve watched and went to more moto/supercross races than i have a dodgers game in the past 3 years. That said, I still follow along with the scores and catch a few innings when i’m visiting family if there’s a game on. I was so happy for shohei and absolutely in shock when he hit the 469 foot home run or however long it went. Insane, I feel like we are watching a legend and this generations GOAT do amazing stuff right before our eyes. Shohei and Jett are not human, they are aliens.

 My bad...I saw one press conference for a minute and jumped to conclusion.......

He'll be 10 in January.  Everyday he asks to go out and practice ,I told him I would never say no but I would also never force him to practice. To be honest my knees have been killing me from playing  catcher while he pitches.

Question for the baseball fans. 
I had never heard of a pitcher being pulled out of the game, but is allowed to become the DH still ? When and why did this happen ? Weird rule

Been to dodger stadium many times back in the day matter of fact.My mom told me once that I was at opening day.The first gameThey played when they moved from brooklyn and played temporarily in the Los Angeles memorial coliseum. Not many people know that as it was/is an olympic stadium more suited for football, but they configured it and played there two years I believe before dodger stadium was built in chavez ravine 1958 and that's a whole nother story in itself.How they kicked out the people that lived in that community. Anyway, my mom told me once that I was at opening day in her womb as both my parents were sports fans.

 I actually loathe the los angeles.Sports teams, as it seems, they always get the best players cuz.They want to be close to hollywood.And all the money.

Also, it seems like they're always in the championship rounds.I was spoiled in my youth with very successful dodger, and laker Showtime Teams and now that i'm in arizona, it's brutal being a zonie sports fan, as we've only won one championship in 2001 against the yankees.That was the 9/11 series. 

Going to diamondback and Suns games.The LA fans can be very obnoxious as half the stadium is filled with them.There's a lot of californians who have followed me out here unfortunately..... 😬

Yep been a sports fan my whole life and he's the best baseball player I've ever seen.

To be able to have 10 strikeouts and 3 monster home runs in a playoff clinching series. My gawd what we saw was history! 😲😳

His first inning alone was the stuff of legend. He established dominance immediately— striking out the side and then hitting the Leadoff homer . 
I was lucky enough to be in attendance a year ago when Shohei came to Pittsburgh and faced Skenes .  It was a draw , Paul punched him out once , but Shohei put one in the river, too lol. 
It was really shocking to see how big a dude Ohtani is in real life . Very Intimidating size.
 

Especially for a Japanese player.  The average height for men in Japan is considerably lower than here in the US, and it seems that tall Japanese men are a real rarity so it’s always notable to me when I meet someone from Japan who is as tall or taller than I am. I got to meet Kazuhiro Sasaki back when he pitched for Seattle and he was really close to 6’4 or maybe taller. He was probably wearing cleats still and I had on regular shoes, but I remember thinking that I’d never actually seen someone from Japan in person who was that tall!  I’ve seen a few taller since then, but it sure seems like Japanese men seem to have their height more concentrated around their average rather than the random outliers that we see so often here.
