Zero competition...that's actually laugh out loud funny. I love how people use the term so loosely when trying to prove a point. You are correct man, there were NO other notable riders competing when McGrath was dominant. Lusk, Emig, LaRocco, Dowd, Albertyn, Hughes, Button, etc. were terrible. Think it through for a second. Your thought process stymies me. Oh Mohammed, reading your clueless, anger filled posts actually makes me feel better about myself so for that I say thank you :-)

Yeah, MC's not that cool. I wouldn't worry about what these guys say to you. MC thinks you need to have a factory honda to win, so he's obviously not that smart anyway.

MC didn't call CP out.. IMO he was simply asked a honest question and he gave a honest answer that is obviously just his opinion. It's not like MC went out of his way to comment on CP. I'm not pissed at you for giving me your opinion about MC's comment and at the same time you can't be pissed at MC for giving his opinion.

Everybody seems to think Top Dollars were thrown at MC his whole career and that's not totally true. Like everyone else he had to earn the right to get top dollar. Do you think MC got paid more than Stanton in 93? Hell no!! After he won the 93 title that all changed. Pourcel from what I've read was offered killer $$ factory deals from both Honda and Kawasaki early on in the outdoor season and turned them both down. I'm pretty sure you could combine the rookie classes ( Metty, JW, TC, and Stroupe) salaries and it wouldn't equal the 1.5 million CP asked for. I'm sure all of them have bonus structures that would allow them to make that kind of money "If they win". I think Dungey only signed for 400k (although Ive heard as much as 600k) salary in 2010 and made as much as(according to some reports) 5 million last year. So if CP thinks he can do what Dungey did he should sign for whatever and rack up the bonus checks.

I'm of the belief that CP deserves top dollar to race but unfortunately for him I'm not writing and checks in the MX industry and the people that are writing those checks want to see how he performs on a 450 before they spend to much on him.
Im not saying I dont believe you, but It's crazy to me that dungey won 2 titles (and dominated one of them) and only made 5 million dollars. Do you know if that number includes endorsements? I would think with sponsors like target and nike, they alone must be paying him 5 mill a year.

Let me see if I can goose this thread along:

Pourcel couldn't carry McGrath's jock strap.

Popcorn!
depends on the series.... Pourcel is an incredible talent just like MC.

It wasn't like CP went undefeated in the regional SX series. He had a pair of rookies beat him. I like CP but it isnt like CP is a dominant rider like RC, MC, AC. If he was I could understand his demands but look at the facts, lost the last 2 years in the outdoors, hurt his shoulder in the last one. No one has seen him ride a 450, let alone after his injury.

No one is disputing CP's talent, we all agree the guy has skills, the problem lies in Mohammed not understanding MC spoke his mind, his own opinion and now he is disrespecting MC, nothing more.

While MC was speaking his mind, he disrespected 3 of our sports best riders, who are all more talented than himself. So whats the difference? Ya know?

The whole money thing falls on deaf ears. The USA is broke. The citizens are broke. We are earning 50% of what we made 2 years ago. We won't buy shit even at 90% off. The mx companies are about to collapse. The MCF's are down 40-60% on mx sales. Dealers are closing. Tracks are closing do to lack of attendance...........etc.

And then this jag off (cp) wants 3 million to show up and be given the best bikes in the world to ride on the best tracks/dirt in the world.

Fuck you CP. Enjoy the GP's. The USA is too poor for your blood.

McGrath won championships as followed:

91-92 125 SX champion

93-96 and 98- 2000 SX champion

1995 MX champion

Lost the SX championship in 97 by a few points due to a clutch taking a shit

Lost the 96 MX championship by a few points to s broken wrist.

72 SX wins.

Time for revolution! Long live the new king POURCEL!! New Blood!!
And the USA is broke, is poor, is pathetic, Idiot all things I don't gonna argue hahahaha but then you don't need to claim that you got the best MX series because you need to buy/pay the best racers ...

That the 4the of your series chooses for the money in Europe says enough! That TLD and others hasn't the money that CLS Pro Circuit Kawa got says enough and CLS isn't the richest team of Europe MX!

If the US economy stays as pathetic as now your MX Series will become pathetic also because riders will get payed and they want to get enough money because they know there MXLife can be over in a blink of a eye. But that are things you rednecks don't think about...

McGrath won the SX Championship his first year on Big Bikes. And I don't see how C.P. can hold out when he is unproven, He lost the only 2 outdoor titles he has competed for and no one has seen him ride a 450. IMO if he gets a ride he will be lucky to win a race let alone a Championship.

Are you serious are you a Motocross fan?? He rode 2 National Championships on a 450cc!

Bloody Hell. And that 2009 National Title is from Dungey but only because that Kawa quited in Washougal! And everyone that saw that championship will remember him that Pourcel deserves that Championship!

You Euros are arguing that CP is just as good as MC and has yet to race a single event on a big bike? Please put the joint down and try to rationalize that to me because I'm having a hard time figuring out your equation.

i'm in.....Jeremy was doing nothing in that interview that we dont do everyday on this forum. He was speaking his mind openly. giving his opinions....He has way more room to talk than any of us do,& he said the same things that get said on here. If you listened to RC on dmxs last nite, he bagged on the crafty frenchman way more than Jeremy did...they need to start a frenchy section for these kind of threads...ridiculous

Also if he deserved it he would of won it. But only one record will be remember and thats 2009 250cc National Champion - Ryan Dungey!

Your little golden french fry does not amount to a pimple on MC's ass in the sport of MX or SX.
When he wins...
15 big bike Nationals.
72 big bike SX's.
14 Big Bike SX mains in 1 season.
7 Big Bike SX Championships.
1 Big Bike MX Outdoor Championship.
Then come talk to us.
Until then, put your hands in your pockets, sit back and STFU.
