IMO, they are not going to do it because Jo still won and it didn't affect results, but to set a good precedent, AMA should still penalize Deegan to say "hey that is beyond the threshold for dirty riding." (HUGE difference between 1-2 takeouts versus trying to injure him and messing with him the whole race)

They definitely shouldn't forget about him just because he DNFd, completely agree with you.

Vialle really just dodged that question like a pro lol.

He is technically moving up to a 450.

No shortage of opinions on this. Deegan's impact not nearly what RJ's was. Slow speed, poorly executed block on Jo, and he accidentally hurts himself. If you think Deegan shouldn't have done this, then you probably think RJ shouldn't have tried to pass Hammaker, or Osborne pass Savatgy. Ugly, but that is the time and place to be ugly.

This needs to be a very big learning moment for Haiden and his career.

What kitchen did is not even in the same category as what Deegan just did. No idea how you don't understand that......

You really think he had a plan?  Didn’t look like much thought was involved.

Yeah smart answers, he knew that question was coming and had his answers ready. If it’s his last time racing here let’s tip a cap to him, came from GPs and aced supercross

Joe needs to buy Kitchen a steak dinner for this championship

Had Jo, not crashed in Charlotte, and won the race (which he clearly was on pace to do given how much faster he was than Hammaker and capacity to charge through the pack), Jo would have been tied with Deegan going to St. Louis.

There's always what if's, end of the day Deegan may have been dealt a shitty hand with Levi but so was Jo with the Hammaker crash (Hammaker slightly cut him off causing handlebars to tangle)

The difference was - Deegan crashed again and missed out on the position needs to keep it within 9 points heading to Vegas, while Jo didn't make another mistake, and charged all the way up to 3rd.

Did Joe also have no front brake?

Jo rode with composure - looked like a champ. I get trying to do what you need to for a championship but the ama would have docked Deegan if he successfully took out Jo and won after that. The damage to his reputation plus his injury plus a possible point deduction penalty - just the worst possible outcome for him. He could have finished 2nd in this series and taken home 250k and gone home healthy. I don’t like that he’s injured but damn - to use RC’s lingo, this has got to be a learning lesson for the kid.

They’re just gonna ignore the Kitchen comments and not even comment on it.

Shit happens, it’s racing. I like Kitchen, sucks he ruined Deegs championship for no reason, but for people to just shrug and turn away from that incident but to crucify someone for doing anything they can to win and putting on an absolute hell of a show trying.

Imagine how many people were just tuning in and are absolutely hooked on seeing the villain (Deegan) trying to take out the good guy (Jo).

Lots of new fans of the sport earned tonight. I’m stoked on some awesome racing and ready for the 450 race!

Kitchen grenaded the title picture with a boneheaded 1st lap pass attempt. Deegan was forced into a position where simply winning wouldn't earn him the title. Any self-respecting man would do what he needs to do to give himself a shot of winning the title, especially in the scenario where he is by far the most deserving.

I full expected and understand why Deegan would try something, but that wasn’t how you do it. He was playing bumper cars out there. He took his shot and Jo outsmarted him. He should have just left it at that. Instead he just kept trying and it was crossing a line. That wasn’t racing.

The only thing Deegan is likely to learn is when you're taking someone out you don't hit them with the front wheel. Had Deegan been a few feet further forward when they connected, Shimoda would have been on the ground and Deegan would have ridden off.

If Jett goes any freaking faster on the back sweeper section, he’s going back to 1955.

I'm surprised Jett isn't cutting into this lead more.

Yep. I get messing with him to try to force a mistake. But once he started the contact he went way too far.
