Best thing I did was put a bed slider on, so I  put the bikes in backwards, gave me enough room up front for an expandable queen size bed that went over the bikes

Wow Great job customizing & your organization skills are next level .  I had a back injection at a hospital after that I called my chiropractor to adjust a pinched nerve that had my butt to leg bad. He wouldn’t do it then went on vacation. Then I loaded everything up but bike , fuel & tool box in the rain . Next morning I loaded the rest .  I throw gear on the left everything else on the rt .  To sleep I get the bike out lock it to the trl hitch , fuel goes outside. Throw 2 foam mattresses on the flour a quilt ovr that & a thin blanket. I,m bringing another blanket next time I need more wt on my body to sleep .  Race day I ,m so disorganized trouble finding stuff . I used a paint stick to clean the bike , Bro next to me his 2 riders lived at a train camp for 6 months . I,m not a threat to beat his teen boys in the 125 class.  . And no one else offered there pressure washer . So it’s 40 min of scraping . Being organized is the #1 thing .  Sat after racing I locked my bike to a motorhome pu my pal & hit Lake Superior to clean up .  Easy to get around in a van

That’s awesome, I was always envisioning something like that when I was looking to build out a van when seeing some mountain bike builds. That’s pretty cool and great use of space!

I’m guessing we are the only ones on here with a Toyota Granvia (?). RHD. Diesel. AWD . (JDM.) We’ve had the Stark in there, she’s an amazing contraption, odd that Toyota never sold them here….   IMG 3606 5.jpeg?VersionId=ZO9UtvnHIMG 3618 0.jpeg?VersionId=SUAHzuoZbaaDVxfluxfTnlBQwVY5R

IMG 7977 1My newly acquired rig for vintage cross country racing.  Not exactly what I was looking for, but when a sweet deal falls in your lap sometimes you just gotta go with it.  I did add the front plate for extra rizz as the kids say these days.

With a 318 ? I bought a cargo maxi van in 98 with a 318 . Interior I used insulation for a attic & white rubbery type white paneling . No ac & never needed it   , am radio I put a boom box on the dash old school . Haha.  I think I paid 4,800 for it I had to park it at my dads farm on concrete in back of the barn .  He fired it up & drove to the back of the farm . And parked in 7 ft high canary grass all that moisture rotted the body off .  I installed air shocks Fri finally I got rained out 50+ times this summer working on stuff.  I,m missing 4 o rings in the kit for the t fitting to the valve stem .  I bought 3 pairs of these shocks & never had this problem.  Old coil ovr shocks where on there 20+ yrs .  A little struggle to get them off weather was decent tho 85 & muggy .  Now I hv to hit the hardware store & get o rings b4 it rains.

Unfortunately no, it's the 289 V6.  Does ok on the highway, but struggles with a loaded trailer as i criss-cross the Allegheny mountains.

Rupedog, that’s a staw-wa, not a moto van. I don’t care how many stickers you put on it, it does not count as a moto van!

Add Sea foam or Lucas injector cleaner , it adds mpg .  Would a 5.3 do better on mpg ? What yr is your Van ?  I like the look much better than the other newer vans. I took the luggage rack off since the pic & painted the wheels white again.

Seafoam does some magical stuff, good to run it right before you plan on swapping plugs. I agree, new Sprinters are nice but way above my budget. This is a single owner 2015, had under 80k mi and was very clean overall.

I was looking at the smaller motor too, but found this and jumped on it. From what I've read smaller one isn't that much better on gas because it works a lot harder in general.

I've been really happy with it so far.  I will post more pictures when I get the inside a little more dialled in.

You need to post updated pictures without the rack! I will be building a low profile rack that will mostly be for solar panels. Keep it low profile/discreet.

Last Tuesday at Chicago trk yard .  Ty Ya short for her Ukraine name Was all excited saying is that your van all excited IMG 4190 2.jpeg?VersionId=qlGgafaLU YYHS ?  I saw her outside driving up & said looks like a Hot 1 fell from heaven & hoped I,d be working with her. And sure enough her co worker pal is  Hot  too.  Now this has happened a few times & I haven’t figured out why these Hot Ukrainian women Luv these vans. I think 100% they know it’s a shagging  wagon . They get all flirty playing with there hair then get up

Walk across  the room into the hall & turn around. To show me there Hot bod , yeah it’s f ing nuts. She has my spare keys because they hv to move out vehicles .

I originally built this van for rock climbing trips and for work, not as a moto hauler. But life took a difficult turn, and after many years of climbing I had to make some changes . I was extremely fortunate to meet a group of racers in Nicaragua who convinced me to hop on one of their bikes. The second I hit the track, a wave of memories and happiness washed over me, after 20 years off a bike, I knew I was back.

I bought a 2020 KX250 to get back in form, and recently upgraded to a 2024 350 SX-F. Now I’m all in, racing again. The van isn’t the “ideal moto setup” since that wasn’t its original purpose, but honestly I love it for long moto trips. Under the bed is my "climbing garage" with all my gear and camping stuff/ road bike. The climbing gear was removed and it became a "moto garage" with all my tools and bike gear.

This past January I drove it down to Southern California from Canada and lived in it for 6 months. Woke up in the van, hit all the tracks I’d always dreamed of, visited iconic moto shops. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a dream I finally got to live out.

Looks pretty ideal to me!

A small enclosed trailer for big trips could be handy

Nice van. Is your bike carrier on a swivel? Like a ramble swing out? Makes the hitch hauler on a van way better.

Also keep an eye out for any oil leak from that pentastar motor. The oil cooler in between the cylinder banks will eventually start leaking (they all do) and it can cause an engine fire. Ask me how I know.

I bought my foam mattress from IKEA and cut it to the size I needed. I think for the price their quality is pretty good.
