#18: MXGP of Turkey

9/7/2025 9:46am

The Netherlands must have a decent squad for the nations if they’re got Herlings on the bench 🤯

That whole story that Herlings isn’t selected by the Dutch federation is bullshit.

A very tight end season in WMX. It's a shame about Kiara and Daniela's point penalties this weekend.

As long as there’s racing like that who really cares about attendance!! Lot more people at charlotte yesterday and zero battles during any race!! There wasn’t too many riders lined up at the gate but still some kick ass battles in both classes!!

Impressive that Langenfelder and de Wolf both raised the bar this race. Next two races should be good!

Someone on the Netherlands team needs to have a visa issue. We are really missing out not having Jeffery in the mix at Ironman.

Exactly my thoughts. I was thinking attendance was in the hundreds, not even kidding. Sad, for a world class event

Love the Swiss track. Big throwback.

Attendance is really low, the racing was again top tier though. Coenen looks so silky smooth, such an impressive season for him. I really would love to see Febvre take the World Title though. I cannot comprehend how hard this mentally is for him after missing the title in 2021 with a few points and being in this battle for most seasons since 2015.

Adamo really threw away his title aspirations this weekend, which I didn't really expect. It's now up to De Wolf to take any points session for the win. Not sure what is better in this scenario, hunting or being hunted?

I just saw this. The MXGP highlight on YouTube didn’t do justice to Herlings pass on Febvre. Just wow.

Herlings is looking really good on this comeback. I hope he stays healthy. The racing is so much better with him and Gajser in the mix.

Anyone who thinks that there is no team strategy is wrong. Herlings job is now to keep Febvre as far away from Coenen as is possible. And hes doing that.

I have a feeling that Garcia will have a better MX2 career than both Reisulis and Zanocz

Imo Reisulis hurt his development by staying in EMX250 this year, he showed last year he is a title contender before getting injured, should have raced MX2 in Elzinga's place.

Garcia has improved a lot and is really young. But must say i am impressed with all 3 of them. Hope Garcia and Zanocz get a good spot in MX2

It sucks but these races have always been these type of numbers. I mean back in the day in the 80s and 90s the top 15 in championship got a travel fee and were the only ones making that trip.

To me its more an issue that we have awfull numbers at races in Europe. Sardegna, Netherlands, Sweden, France, UK, Spain, Portugal etc all less then 30 riders and often less then 25. I'd be very happy if they would fix that

There is absolutely no way the attendance was 32000, don't know where they got those numbers. There is no motocross scene in Turkey, and motocross is not as sexy and easily approachable for "normal people" as road racing for example.

Racing was good, track was a lot better than I thought, but the atmosphere was lacking for sure.

Quick question: Did the racing suffer from only having a ‘sparse’ field?

For the tv broadcast not apart from the startshot. And since there were no spectators it didnt hurt them as well.

Racing is always better without the 20-40 riders and excessive amount of lappers. Fucking hate when first guy comes up to lapper where there is two lines, and second guy has to back of 1-2 sec because the lapper doesnt do what he is supposed to do and section is one lined.

Tracks dont get as beat up either so they can race each other and not the track. Having 40 riders + WMX + EMX classes wouldnt be good for tracks. We see how sketchy they get anyway.

Tracked looked really good and allowed for good racing. Australia track looks a bit more narrow. Its impossible it was 32k people there, 16k per day. Would really like to hear sponsors and media question that number.
