It's the right decision for both sides
Not surprising. I really was rooting for him but tbh I’m not sure I’ll be much of a fan of his regardless of bike color from here on out.
Absolutely ridiculous to not line up because he's unhappy and being a crybaby about the bike. In this case just state your parting ways instead of this charade.
called it (as did many others). Was no way to mend this relationship to make SMX make sense. This divorce should be finalized asap so all can move on.

I remember months ago I was calling for him to win the outdoor title.
That idea aged even worse than rotten milk ha
I know Lewis and Kellen love to defend Prado because's hes from MXGP. And of course, Prado is riding no where near his potential, but that does not justify the character he has shown.
He is a rider who is disrespectful and arrogant, while refusing to take any blame. He also sounds incredibly rude in interviews and honestly like a guy I'd hate to be around if that's his form of being honest. There's one thing being blunt like Ferrandis, and there's another to just act like an asshole and make snarky remarks in every interview.
That is why, I personally will never be a fan of him moving forward, simply because of his poor character/personality.
He also is a reckless rider, who shows no care for others. Cross jumped Herlings, resulting in him getting injured. T-boned AC for like 12th place at A1 when everyone knew AC was dealing with the nerve issue, resulting in AC breaking fingers and missing races on what was supposed to be his retirement tour.
The next post from Kawasaki related to this will be the dissolution of their contract with Prado. I would assume Kawi is trying to leverage their position to best protect them from a PR and financial standpoint. Prado is wanting out as soon as possible to be able to move on but unfortunately the power is in Kawasaki's hands related to what the release looks like.
I was so happy he was coming over here to add to our series but I have lost all respect for him
Question is, how soon will he be riding the KTM.
What a kick in the balls for Kawi ... no bikes on the gate at 2025 SMX 😒.
Wow, I can’t imagine Monster is very happy. They gave up probably the best marketing they’ve ever had in Adam Cianciarulo for this. Couldn’t be more opposite in how they represent the team.
Is it a given that KTM wants him? They have a solid lineup, presumably with Eli heading over. At a minimum, this has to be "complicated" for KTM. If Jorge can be competitive it looks great for the bike. From a brand image standpoint, this has to be a tough sell at the moment. Or is that over thinking it?
most pathetic thing ive ever seen in the sport. hope he gets back on ktm and gets dog walked next year
Kick in the balls for Kawi, Fox, Monster and everyone else that invested heavily in that mess
I wonder what his results will be on another brand. Sometimes a bike just simply doesn't work for you and all you need is a fresh start. I hope he can resurrect his career, because we all know he's far better than this.
So you don’t understand that Kawasaki has benched him?…
Prado had turned in to a complete dumpster fire…. And now it’s approaching the expected nuclear explosion. Kawi’s had enough.
Will he get a contract anywhere that isn’t just a bonus deal. It’s insane…
He just wants to run a SAFE pace, on the couch.
Pit Row
This guy might be the biggest flake that has ever hit the US national circuit.
Imagine he been on Honda this year and we will be talking about guy who did win front of Jett.
If I had never raced SMX before. id love to get experience even If I hate the bike..
Guess this means 1 more privateers getting paid tho. Damn good deal.
Disappointed for sure.
The turkey dance has begun....Ole George has himself in quite the pickle....contracts are contracts and getting out of this one is going leave ole George with some pretty good scars....
WTF you talking about bout Willis?
If he goes quickly, he can make it to Turkey for qualifying 🤙…..(just kidding). Poor kid, i’m sure out of all of his thoughts, fears, nervousness, anticipation, this result was never never on his radar for this season ending
So I assume there are legal issues to not just come out and say he’s no longer going to be employed by Kawasaki?
Or are there family health issues that are keeping him out?
The drama is ridiculous with this whole situation.
I was a fan.
Prado turned out to be a joke. And this clown was an MXGP champion???...lol. I have never heard of anything like this before in MX or SX.
"but...but...I don't like the bike...it's not right...I feel unsafe." Give this asswad a binkie to suck on and send his whiney ass home.
I was actually more shocked earlier this week when I saw that he was racing. I thought he had already said Budds was his last race. Maybe I was just reading between the lines.
Kawasaki should just eat the $3M and keep him under contract until he quits, even if it takes all 3years with him sitting on the sidelines
I thought that Kawi had to have riders at the race per sponsorship requirements. I'm guessing they negotiated with Monster and other sponsors and decided this was the best decision.
Next question is when will be the next announcement on leaving Kawasaki - mutual parting ways?
