when he realized he still had to race even though he didn't post a qualifying time.

I don't think very many people here care what the fuk he thinks anymore after he keeps saying its the bike, like Sexton did with the Honda when he couldn't beat Jett, then did the exact same thing with the KTM the first year, then he (Prodo) pussies out half way thru the race and just cruises it in.

I'm sure Kawasaki AND the sponsors love his bullshit, as the lines for people to buy a new KX450 remain empty, however, I for one will be first in line to buy one when they have a half price or 2 for 1 sale.

I think he made an attempt to not qualify intentionally.  I think kawi found the provisional rule to “force” him to go race.

Maybe it’s just my neck of the woods but I see a ton of kx450s locally.

pulp reported he thought he had gotten out of racing, learned of the LCQ rule, and kawi MADE him decline to ride the LCQ cause they suspected he wouldn't try in the LCQ. Total shit show. His boss KNEW he was gonna quit the LCQ so forced him to the line for the main.

Come on guys he must have been trying, he went from 45th in timed qualifying to 43rd, if that's not progress, well....

"Timed Qualifying" sounds so weird.

I finally watched this segment on Pulp and it definitely made me change my thinking about the situation. One change was I am no longer able to happily accept them reporting what they say are “rumors” as unattributed facts. But I know they won’t stop this practice.

I admit this: if true, it’s reprehensible. Not wanting to ride the last 2 motos of the year, and trying to get out of it by sandbagging qualis? Unthinkable. But once forced to race, scoring 10th overall without even breathing hard? I was there; I saw him ride. He has great form on the bike, looks a lot like Jett. Definitely looks (and was) a lot faster than the guys who finished behind him. I hope his next situation works out better for all involved.

I watched the race, there were places he was just cruising around.

Okay, but his cruising speed was at a pace that 29-30 other guys couldn’t/didn’t match. Or were they all cruising?

Thats likely either because they are 2024's or because the dealers are selling them new for only $5,000. I'm sure that for the vast majority of non pro riders, they are decent, especially at nearly give away prices.

We certainly agree, as I suspect most do, we hope his next situation works out better for all involved. But how can you possibly think he was not sandbagging the qualifiers? He is a four-time world champ, he could have qualified on a TW200. I genuinely think this is personal at this point, somebody is an asshole to Prado at Kawasaki, or he is an asshole to them. There is a deliberate effort, obviously, to embarrass this team and its members by Prado. This is genuinely weird.

The fact Prado can supposibly only qualify 43rd but then finish 10th overall should be the nail in the coffin proof to show he wasn't trying most of the mx season.

Regardless of an imperfect setup we all know he's capable of more. His riding ability hasn't been the problem. Its his give up attitude.
