Not a joke. He was happy with the bike.

Bike this weekend had Showa stickers.  No way that happens on KYB components.   Plus, the focus has been on motor, not suspension.  With the motor now apparently set, I’m sure they will find good settings with the Showa stuff the factory rides.

No way that happens? Like the WP stickers on the KYB internals and lugs the KTM group is running?

Happens a lot more than you think!

Your comparison is as relevant as using a vet race that someone won on kawi last week so bike is good.

Did you miss that Phil has basically said his bike isn't competitive in AMA? He literally said he would get smoked because of the bike.

If the bike is slow, didn't Jorge go through a negotiating process and sign a contract to race that bike. He chose the bike, it took effort and thought for him to get on this team, involving lawyers, advisors, and agents, nobody forced him to race this alleged "slow" bike on his alleged shitty team. Nobody put a gun to his head and told him to race this slow bike, the process to choose or decide certainly took weeks if not months. He is not some 17-year-old rookie, he is a four-time world champ, an international level multi-millionaire athlete, a cosmopolitan sophisticated individual, he could have chosen any manufacturer he wanted to race for, and he chose a "slow" bike with an unresponsive team not even good enough for a Canadian championship? Funny how the PC250s seem to have motors to pull Garrett Marchbanks to podiums and Drew Adams to top fives but the 450 is a supposed slug.

Why is it so hard to accept that the bike sucks, and it took until now to get it better? If Eli was saying the same things Prado was, it would be ok.

Everyone wants Prado to fail in some sort of, look at how trash mxgp is and America is the best dynamic it’s wild to observe.

Spin it anyway you want, but this has been an unprecedented failure for a multi time MXGP champion. There are probably several different reasons why the performances have been so poor. At the end of the day the majority of the blame rest on Prodo’s shoulders and it does leave a bit of a stain on the MXGP series, so suck it up buttercup!

Just remember nobody is sending you a check when your team wins… that’s the exact sort of posturing that is fueling all the hate coms.

I think its a situation where both are kinda true. The bike stuff is potentially nonsense. It also is potentially the problem. The real issue is that this forum has no concept of "let the athletes talk, we'll listen, everyone will wait and see". That's why it never goes away.

It's the same reason Tomac is either the best ever to take down Jett, or he is a washed out boomer that needs to retire depending on his results over the weekend. Remember, this sport attracts the most hedonistic, selfish, and unintelligent people on earth. Don't be surprised that recency bias overcomes most. Personally, if I gambled I'd have no problem betting on Prado for a title next year.

But I'm sure this doesn't apply to you right?

Nope. May not apply to you either, or anyone in this thread for that! Who knows. Sounds like the shoe fits though😂

“Failure?” Maybe a bit much. He may not have seen the podium, but he’s shown decent speed (qualifying in the top 10 in 8 of 9 rounds so far) and despite having 3 really bad motos, currently sits in 6th place in the standings. I’m not sure you can call that a failure when expectations shifted after he got hurt in SX. But you do you.

I was one to think it’s pretty close to a failure, but more like well short of expectations is a better assessment.

I'm rooting for him but he's never been on the podium. And there's quite a few other folk that aren't racing. Seems pretty bad to me...

Kenny's been with Red Bull since at least 2006. That's gotta be the longest sponsored Red Bull athlete? 20 years, that's pretty crazy.

I would have to disagree. Prado is a four time world champ, beating a pretty deep field in the process. He himself as others, have stated his goals coming in to the season was to win outdoors, and he still insists he can beat Jett if his bike was better. No matter how you slice it, if you set goals and do not achieve them, though harsh, you failed by definition.

Flatland bmx rider Terry Adams has been on Red Bull for over 20 years if you weren’t talking moto specifically.

I think it’s fair to call a 4 x MXGP champ riding a factory bike getting beat by mid-pack riders operating out of box vans a failure.

Kenny has already beat Tomac a lot outdoors, so no! The very simple fact is that the pace here is much higher and George is still adapting.

It’s so much higher that Jeffrey came here in 2018 and absolutely made the entire field look like they belonged in the b series…

At that time, there was no denying that a healthy Herlings was the fastest motocross rider in the world just as Jett is today.  That was 7 years ago and things have changed.  If AMA racers don’t dominate MXoN this year, I’ll be happy to eat my words.

It wasn’t that he won, it’s that nobody was even close. Gasjer beat Jett last year in England, it’s not like they aren’t close?

I’m not saying mxgp is better than ama but the top guys are in the same ballpark besides maybe freaks like Jett or Herlings on their days.

It just is mind numbing to read the intellectuals on here using Prado’s struggles to completely bash mxgps and completely blow the ama as if they aren’t comparable on the pointy ends.

I think it’s a failure when a 4 time MXGP champion comes to US MX with expectations of winning the championship and ending up not even getting a wiff at a podium. Sitting 6th in the points in it’s self , surly isn’t bad. That said , it’s an epic unparalleled failure for a 4 time MXGP champion, when the expectations were so high. Washougal, was a complete disaster that Apollo Creed would be proud of.

I think he’ll squeak out a podium at dilla or budds. Not saying that makes it a success but we are seeing some signs of life and improvement. That’s success on some level.

Perspective folks…. If Jorge gets to where he is on the podium regularly all this will be quickly forgotten.

I would think Unadilla would be a great opportunity for him.  The race endurance won’t be as much an issue since it won’t be as hot.  That should allow him to push harder, longer.

I’m not in the camp of his endurance being the issue. But yea I think he can do well at the final two rounds.

I agree with you but bringing up one race from 7 years ago isn’t relevant to 2025. Especially when he lost a few weekend later to ama riders. However I do agree with your premise overall.
