I used those for years. As good as they are if it rains at keeping gear dry, they also keep moisture in and started to smell really ripe after a while and when mine cracked I changed up for a bag. The newer containers like that do seem to be thicker and better made than the old one I used.

I was at HD the other day and they have one that is so big, I bet You could ship a bike in it!!  It has wheels and a handle too. Pop the top off and stand it up and it would be like a portable closet.  image 1940

Polisport has made a lot of stuff out of plastic that I wouldn't have thought possible. Maybe Polisport or one of the plastic companies  will make a Hard gear bag someday that has a built in seat like You said , maybe some liners that are disposable or washable.

I wonder if anything like that exits in the camping gear world? Probably be too big and heavy for camping , unless it could hold everything and more. I keep getting more and more ideas for ways it could be cool and helpful. I think it could be a cool product . Might end up being a bit too expensive though with all of my add on ideas. But people love stuff like the Packout boxes.

Kind of like what you're talking about? Has some little trays but no real compartment partitions

Maybe you guys should just buy vans and keep all of your shit in there?

 -Plenty of space and compartments
-Several options for places to sit
 -Mostly waterproof
- Wheels for easy transport
- Vents, although if it's a good one the heat and A/C don't usually work.
-Can apply stickers to make people think you are a sponsored rider

I know its not photos of the inside, but the descriptions help You know the materials they are using and where they use them.  You can't go wrong with an OGIO though. They will last forever. That said, I've sold a couple Thor bags and the customers have been very happy with them and are still using. They were the generation before this one though so I'm not sure how similar the insides may be.

The Alpinestars bags are another bag I've sold  and it has been more popular than the Thor bag. They have a good assortment of bags that are well made.

1_TRANSIT_WHEELIE_BAG

Cinch straps to compress bag height

Oversized rolling wheels

Durable reinforced handles

Dimensions: 37”L x 16.75”W x 17.75”H

I'll do the same with this bag, image then description. This is new for 26 and I have not seen one in person yet. I checked my availability and its showing they are not in stock until later this month. So they may be harder to find right now. A dealer that pre ordered may already have some in stock.

Specifically designed boot compartment

Micro fleece lined helmet & goggle pocket

Roll-out changing mat

Mesh pockets along both sides of main compartment

Large main compartment is ventilated on both sides

Durable base

Durable reinforced handles

Adjustable padded shoulder strap

500D polyester main body material and 200D polyester lining

Dimensions: 33”L x 15”W x 16.5”H

Metric dimensions: 84 cm (l) x 38 cm (w) x 42 cm (h)

I looked for inside photos and couldn't find any. The Thor bags I've sold  had a mix of materials inside.  and decent number of pokets.

I have had Moose bags in the past , it was the biggest I could find att he time and I had it for years until it fell out the back of my truck on the highway and was hit, and gear scattered across 4 lanes of highway . Only things to survive were 2 single No Fear gloves and my HRP flak jak chest protector. A rivet or 2 broke , but I fixed it. It did look like it had been run over by a truck, so I retired it after that.

I normally  take great care in packing my bed of my truck. But My buddy and I were on our way home from riding and we saw somebody broken down that we rode with. We already had 2 bikes and gear bags, but we moved stuff around to get him and his bike into the truck. He didn't want to leave it to be towed with the Van. And one of us didn't click the strap I used to hold the bag in onto anything so off it went. 2 custom painted helmets  and a ton of gear. After that I bought an enclosed trailer and either brought that or less gear so I wouldn't have so much lost if it ever happened again.

MOOSE PART number 3512-0317

And description copied from the PU site.  ****  Fixed to show the uncropped full images****.

Large internal compartments safely store helmets and gear

Removable compartment inserts for customization

Separate boot compartment

Foldable pull-out changing mat

Convenient mesh pocket with internal and external access

Side accessory pockets for maximum storage

Handles on top, bottom, and front of bag

I wish somebody would make a bigger bag.  All the largest bags seem to be about 18"x18"x36" (give or take).  I want one that's about 6" bigger in each direction.  I also want more pockets, inside and outside the bag.

By the time I put: boots, helmet, chest pro, neck brace, goggle bag, knee pads and pants; my bag is pretty stuffed.  I also like to be able to have some extra stuff in there.  The 36x18x18 just makes all that a pretty tight squeeze.

I ended up buying an enclosed trailer and building a closet. I took it practicing and to the races most of the time. An all aluminium Cargopro . I think it was a 7x14 or so. I was able to build 2 rooms long enough for bikes.  I had a space with my gear hanging and fold down bed up front with tie down points for 1 bike. A work bench and space for 2 forward facing and 1 backward facing bikes in the garage area.

I towed it with a half ton GMC and it was like it wasn't there. Cruised down the highway , it towed amazingly. Wish I never sold it! But I got a 5th wheel toy hauler and duramax after that. Sweet closet in the garage, by that time I was injured and was helping other racers get to races instead of riding and racing myself. I went to a race every weekend between March and November for  10 or more years, 6 AMA nationals a year and tons of local races in NE.   Now I have a small 8.5x12 that is just big enough to fit my biggest toy and a class a RV. But I don't get out at all right now.

A sprinter van. Well Ford Transit would be my choice if I didn't want a giant billboard to wrap my brand on. I've wrapped a bunch of vans and the Transit seems to be the favorite of most people. Less complaints and issues reported by the owners when I asked.  Not having to unpack after every ride made it easier to get out and ride and not be unloading at 10PM. Just back the rig in and park it and deal with it the next day.

But it was the biggest I've ever seen.   That Moose I posted with the Thor bags earlier in this thread  is 35.5" X 20.5" x 20.5" Pretty big but not a lot bigger than most.  This Moose bag I saw 34.5X 20 x 16 . Not much different than most others. But the retail is only $109.95

Ironically, im using a basketball bag(that holds the balls). Three way split. Helmet one side, boots the other. Gear in the middle. Fits my chesty too. Very tight fit. Looking for a new gear bag though

I found this , It would need some adapting but the main part of it isn't bad for the price.  It folds up to store when empty and has a removeable tray. Would just need to make dividers or some sort of system to organize inside better. image 1948.png?VersionId=UHfN1BZPs192Y4p0pHx image 1949  I just noticed my screenshot clipped the price off so I grabbed another with it. At $139.99 its not bad. If its really good quality and durable the full price would still be decent.

The main reason I brought so much gear with me was I forgot some stuff a couple times or fell and got soaked really early on during a day of riding.. And nobody else was close size wise.

I was able to squeeze into some pants that were 4 sizes too small one time, but didn't have any boots. I had forgotten my gear bag, but thought I had my Boots and helmet so I had borrows some pants before finding out that all I had was a helmet. I rode a couple laps in work boots and stopped .

I crashed into one of the shallow pounds between lanes and slid along on my stomach . Got up soaked, with water inside my goggles sloshing back and forth and saw the flagger almost fall down he was laughing so hard! I only had 1 of everything back then, and it was practice or first moto. I took my gear off and rinsed in off and hung it to dry. It was so crusty I went out and bought a couple sets of gear the next day. and eventually got multiple helmets and pairs of boots.

Wearing a 16 , I hardly ever had a choice of color, most of the time I was lucky to find a pair my size . So I started to buy a pair whenever I was at a dealer that had my size. And had 3 pairs at one point. Things are so much easier these days, being a dealer myself, and being able to order a 16 pretty much whenever I need a pair of boots. Colors are limited, and Tech 7 is my only option brand and model wise.

I have the exact same bag and love it. Was actually looking to upgrade also but it seems that don’t make that style much anymore.

I think a bag is a lot cheaper. I’d love a nice motovan. But after buying, building it out, I just can’t afford it. I have my pickup truck I use for pretty much everything, and when I have the money, I’m getting a small toy hauler.

As much as I’d like the van, I can’t afford a van AND a pickup truck.

I am surprised some company don't make one for moto, be nice to have a place to sit, have some vents that could be opened and closed, dividers that could be moved around.

 -Plenty of space and compartments

 -Mostly waterproof
- Wheels for easy transport
- Vents, although if it's a good one the heat and A/C don't usually work.
-Can apply stickers to make people think you are a sponsored rider

I think a bag is a lot cheaper. I’d love a nice motovan. But after buying, building it out, I just can’t afford it. I have my pickup truck I use for pretty much everything, and when I have the money, I’m getting a small toy hauler.

As much as I’d like the van, I can’t afford a van AND a pickup truck.

I was being a smart ass.  Imagine if these guys put as much effort into riding their bikes as they do packing their clothing......

Its funny, out of my riding group I was one of the few to not get my Pro lic. And the faster guys seemed to be the least prepared. Always borrowing stuff, and so on. I was trying to be solid at the full picture, have everything I needed.  Meanwhile my buddy is bumming gas and goggles and anything he can at a National.

I guess I was too organized to be as fast.

Rocky MTN house brand gear bag, best bag on the market, fits all gear comfortably ($125)  Why did I buy the $400 OGIO that doesn't fit all my gear?

I had an Ogio 9900 for 15 years. Last year it finally came completely apart, and i replaced it with the Albek Meridian. Great bag as well, but I highly doubt it is built as well as the old Ogio and will last another 15 years.

FOX X-Large Gearbag Vintage (1999/2000) Tasche Motocross | eBay.de

Mines Still gong strong!

Since 99, at the least - though perhaps I used it in 98  going to the Mont Sainte Anne World DH Champs - I think I got it early with my / my Teams Fox deal at that time . Used it for a lot of OS travel, too, until I (really) needed something with wheels.

So, a 9800 is now my travel companion, but Ol Blue and Black, still is used for most 2 wheeled events.

As a side note, scrabbling around my workshop last night, I saw my original, mid 70s Yellow and Orange Fox Gearbag up on top of a cabinet. A surprisingly small thing, like a Duffle Bag. I know it's got a pair of original Yellow and Orange pants, leather panelled knees and all, in it, and a few Jerseys, including a 'Roxie' , And, 'Elephant Ear Handlebar Muffs, as well a a few other Vintage Motocross Fox treasures. I worked at the first Moto X Fox Importers , in OZ - Competition Deveopment - in the 70s and early 80s, so I've got a lot of that era 'heirlooms' hidden away! Well, lost in the confusion of decades , more accurately .

I'll have to get my Monkeys - Grand Nephews - to climb up and get it down for me, sometime.

Guess the 9900 is long gone, but 9800's had/have a warranty on them. Not sure if it covered the issue with your one.

Called up Ogio/Cali Golf a few years back as my wheels disintegrated. They offered to replace the whole bag, only problem was I am in Aus so by the time I pay for postage I might as well just buy a new one. No complaints about by bag, but that type of customer service sealed the deal on any other bag I get being an Ogio.

I'm looking to clean up the truck a bit and keep my stuff more organized. Who makes a decent gear bag that won't break the bank? Looking to keep everything outside of boots and helmet, so a couple kits, knee braces, goggle case, socks, that kind of stuff.

2003-4 era fox bag.  The new ones are garbage. God bless private equity

MSR makes that exact bag.  Must be a generic manufactured bag and people put their logo on it.  I have it with an MSR logo.  It's fantastic.  Big, durable, easy to tow around, lots of pouches.  Great bag.

I believe MSR is owned by Rockymountain now.

Ogio 9800 is the answer. Kinda pricy but you can find them used, plus someone offered a 40% discount above!

Yup, Rocky Mountain bought MSR the gear brand ,  back when Tucker was first starting to have money issues. I wanna say around 2018ish. Whenever MSR gear disappeared from Tuckers catalogs , RM had bought them.

At the time Tucker held onto the MSR name for Hard parts, I don't know if that has changed at all since Turn14 bought Tucker. .

Why do you guys want your boots and helmet in the same bag as everything else? Unless I'm flying or having to unload into someone's elses truck or something its a pain in the ass.

Helmet stays in the nice bag it came in, Duffle bag for everything else, goggle case or just goggles in the bag for a practice day, boots thrown in truck or if im in camper or wifes car I use my boot carrier.

These have helped a lot and keep shit from sliding all over the camper or whatever and he makes them himself and the quality is awesome.

I had riding buddies that loved pranking each other so keeping everything inside a closed bag made it harder for them to slip something into my boots without me seeing it happen. After riding I had trash bags for dirty gear and boots to go into before going into the gear bag. If everything got super mudy and I couldn't rinse the boots off I might put them in the bed. But most of the time I kept everything together and have had less problems as far as forgetting anything so I just stuck with it.

I've always had Short bed trucks and had to have the tailgate open. I clipped the bag handle around the bike and bungee cord for the gas can.

These days I'm not riding regularly and have only ridden on my property . So My gear is in my closet hanging ,boots in the attached garage and helmets in my Office. So stuff is scattered. I am the primary caregiver for my mom and the only person physically able to help her with certain things because of her lack of mobility ( Sorry if I seem to constantly talk about that,I just assume that most people are not reading everything I write and do not know me). So I'm unable to go too far away for much more than an hour or 2 MAX . So for now I'm speaking more in the past tense than what I do currently.

After owning a Ogio 9800 it's really hard to recommend anything else. It's a great bag and has been VERY durable for me so far. Although I don't ride like I used to these days mine is 7-8 years old and still shows like new. It's well worth the investment.

I do the same with helmet and boots.  The Ogio trucker isn't really cheap but it is quality and works great.  I use the helmet section for some spare parts, enduro jacket, base layers and random stuff.  It would nicely do goggles.  The vented upper section holds my knee braces.  The small section bottom left holds two sets of gear.  Lastly, the boots section holds an USWE hydration pack with spare bladder, chest protector and some sparesScreenshot 2025-08-07 182315

My Ogio Trucker is by far the best bag for organization I've ever had!

https://ogiopowersports.com/products/trucker-gearbag

I can put, helmet, boots, knee braces, neck protector, jersey, pants, socks, gloves, several goggles, gopro setup

All very organized!!!!!!!!!

I like to minimize the chance that I'll get to the track with everything except my boots. Or everything except my helmet.

When I pack my gearbag, I do it the night before leaving for the track. Everything goes into the bag, clean and ready to ride. When I load up, all I need to check off my list is "gearbag."
