Interesting affect of Monster, Red Bull, and Deegan

Their advertising is working. My boys are 4 and 6, I haven't pushed moto on them at all, but this year my oldest has really grown to like it after watching races.

He is quick to point out Monster or Red Bull at the grocery store (we don't drink them). He also said he wants a chain, wants to change his hair color from blonde to brown to be like Deegan, and wants a Deegan shirt. My younger boy pretends to be "Diggin" on his bicycle. 🤣

My older son knows Jett has been dominating the 450s, but seems like the Deegan's marketing has him more of a fan of Deegan than Jett. He does see the #1's on Deegan's bike which I think helps, while Jett has been running 18 this Summer. Curious to see where this goes...I would probably prefer he like Jett over Deegan, if it's between the two, but that's just my preference.

It’s funny how it works. When I was a kid I ran handguards and wore no fear because I wanted to be Pastrana.

You gotta get them to a race, they’d lose their minds!

You're never too young to start blasting white monsters and skipping breakfast.

My 7yo grandson likes Jett, my10yo granddaughter likes Tomac and my 13yo granddaughter likes Deegan.  We made up shirts for each of them and they love going to supercross every year.  On the other side of the coin, I haven't seen any real interest in the sponsorship brands like you are seeing.  I'm just glad they like the sport in general.  My wife is a Chase fan, my daughter just likes to see Jett get beat and I haven't really picked anyone since Zacho retired...  Probably cheering most for RJ these days.

Yup.

Begged my parents to bleach my tips like MC, wanted handguards like TP and begged for NoFear gear because of both.

My 9 year old is a fan of Haiden because he watched all of Haiden's 65 videos when he was younger and all about moto.

Mine too, but I might suggest cold pizza for breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day!

I love white Monster!  Only 4-8oz / day though.

I noticed the Deegan effect from some of the young riders during their podium interviews at LL.

I remember I rode a CRF150R in Fox Gear with a black Fox Chest protector with no logos to be like Canard when I was a kid...

I also remember wanting to buy energy drinks but my parents wouldn't let me...jokes on them now since I've been drinking one a day for the past 15 years (I don't drink coffee).

Curious what made you a Zacho fan? It took him so long to finally get going in his career and then it was over. I liked Zach but for years it seemed he wasn’t all in. Hard to believe he turned pro in 2006 and got his first win 2017. He’s one guy I think Aldon turned into a winner and champion.  Not bashing, genuinely asking.

Don't get me started on the Scott Venturi during the Ron Lechien days! I didn't even take it off at the dinner table.

I added a small “x” to my number plate on my 77 YZ80D, to be like the racers in “Minicycle BMX Action”.

Other kids would ask me what “30 times” meant.

Made replica “EC” (Birt) stickers out of contact for my White 79 YZ80F. Probably no one else in Australia had a clue….

I drink an occasional sugar free Monster, black & green can, and my 3 year old asked to try it once. I had to explain to her she couldn’t because it was “daddy juice”. Now everytime she sees the Monster logo either on TV or at the grocerie store she gets super excited and had to yell out “look they have daddy juice for you”. And also any Yamaha rider is me 🤣

There is a reason Haiden has a replica adult and youth helmet.

Fun fact: Sigma is the 18th letter of the greek alphabet. What else is number 18?

Haiden is great with his young fans, and brings a new level of excitement to moto that we haven't seen in a long time.  Bob Hannah 2.0.

I saw Bryan Myerscough at the ‘75 NMA Championship with a Scott face mask cut to go around his Jofa. Promptly went home and cut my Scott mask the same way. My Dad just shook his head and said, “now you have no excuses…” 😂
