If he had bike dialed from round 1 he would made podiums here and there. Now he is 6th in points while been cruising couple races where havent felt good on bike. When Tomac is dropping from 1 to 8th its just bad day but Prado should leave country...

Please don't compare Prado to Tomac! Tomac is in another league compared to JP. He also won races and titles on a KX.

Top 5s by end of the year this year isn’t that bad.

C'mon man, he was lucky to finish there. Sexton would have beat him easily. Having CW, AP and JA out helped as well.

He didn't beat one rider that was unexpected. He just doesn't have the pace to stay up front.

Here is the rub. Kawi is known for being sticklers on setup and wouldn’t let Weimar change because it worked for RV. They did change some things with Tomac but he still said the window was small.

Prado saw Jett kicking everyone’s ass and thought he is just as good and won at what he thought was the highest level and would be battling Jett.

Got his ass kicked in SX, blames the bike he can’t set up correctly and now thinks going to a KTM that’s completely different than what he rode in GPs will solve the problem?

mentally fragile he is.

That has to suck stuck with a bike you just can’t gel with .  A revalve co turned my bike into a unridable dangerous machine.  Did countless clicker adjustments took the shock spring off that’s for a 40 lb heavier rider.  It kicks super quick left & rt . So bad I catch riders but I don’t want pass them  to crack them with the rear wheel & break there leg .

I’m sure Prado’s Kawi team didn’t use Chicken Licks Suspension Inc to work on his suspension… 😂

Read Not hillbilly's post again. Those F1 salaries were publicly disclosed by the drivers, their teams, or their reps. If ML was told Prado's contract details off the record, then ethically, he can't say numbers. And being ethical is real journalism.

He sounded positive in the post race interviews.   Sounds like they have found the solution to his engine complaints and now it’s just finding the suspension settings to match the new engine character and his improved speed.   Certainly can’t say Kawi is a rigid team as they have bent over backwards to try to make him feel good on the bike.  We’ll see what the rest of the year brings.

Prado wanted to come here way before Jett was even around. Sounds like you may be the mentally fragile one having to make things up to get your point across.

This simply isn't true. Jorge is a four time world champ. If he finished a close fifth it would be understandable. But he was almost one minute behind the winner in both motos. His times indicate he would have had a hard time even getting on the podium against the 250s. With Plessinger and Anderson back, he would be even farther back perhaps. His consistent blame game and insistence there is nothing else he can do is not the behavior of a true champion. He simply isn't performing, this is almost reminiscent of Jeff Emig's post championship year.

Yet until very recently Kawasaki's team has been formidable. They have been winning since John Desoto and Brad Lackey.

No doubt, just my opinion. But I believe it is simply a matter of time and effort until you find the sweet spot on setup with the rider. Yes, each bike has +/-, but they are all good. Work needs to be put in, plain and simple and Kawi is trying to do what needs to be done.

I am actually of the belief that the Kawi will gel with Chase very well. Time will tell, but Jorge and the team just need to keep clicking away

Yes he finished 4th and showed a bit of progress, but he really was 6th. Finishing overall ahead of Chase and Jett was a fluke, he's not close to their speed right now. Look how easily they passed him after he got a good start in the 2nd moto. If Webb, Plessinger and Anderson weren't out, I think they would put him back to 9th.

To me it's more about how far behind the leaders he finished and who he beat. As a Kawi guy I want him to do well. But it's not the bike, imo.

I’m going to give the man some time before I start judging his results.

Spending 3 weeks with MXGP guys every day made me realize just how different the two series are, from food to travel to the paddock to the bikes and fans- the only thing that is the same is the starting gate.

If the US KTM is completely different to his GP bike, explain how Herlings managed a 1-1 on it…

Herlings was definitely in his prime when he came over and won.  But the suspecting question is how did he do it on a new track, different bike etc. ?

He was just that damn good.

He was faster than JC, faster than RJ, 3/10 of Tomac in moto 2. Qualified P4 1 sec off Jett. Thats when they are still working on getting him comfortable.

This shit about him not having speed or pace capability is delusional.

And you can't look at the end time to determine how much he was really after. Because it depends if they push all the way and most don't when there is 10 sec +- to riders around. 12 laps in of 17 he was 27 sec off. Lost 10 sec last lap because he just rode in (2.13 vs 2.23).

If Prado is mentally weak, doesn't have the speed or pace, than you will put Tomac in the same boat. That first moto was just mailing it in, being uncomfortable as fuck. Where have we seen that before, being uncomfortable, leads to slow pace and minimum effort?

I have said it from the beginning. When they fix the power, they have to work on suspension because it's impossible to fix that before. Exactly what Prado now said.

He will get better, and, he has probably lost some high pace race fitness since constant testing and being uncomfortable is a disaster for moto cardio, but it picks up ones you get your settings right.

NESTAAN wants to pay him 700k + bonuses to race MXGP. Source is reliable. But they won't pay a dime to Kawasaki to get him out of his contract.

Kawi might have an ask, but ultimately, it has gone so poorly that in the end I suspect they would let him go with no buyout.

He’s simply not up to speed…. Getting worked by RJ week in and week out has to be a complete embarrassment.

Ironman was an improvement, but still not close.

Is De Wolf moving up next year regardless of winning the MX2 title this year or not? I thought he wanted to go to the 450 especially with how Lucas is doing this year. Maybe NESTAAN throwing that offer to Prado will get De Wolf over here. Shit Kawi should trade Prado for De Wolf.

Forgive my ignorance, but if Prado is out, who takes the second spot at Kawi next to Chase?
