Gear bags, which one?

Not really a cheap option but hard to go wrong with An Ogio 9800 

^ I like that bag too, but it doesn't have much of a partition system. Just throw it all in the same huge space.

I have a TLD bag from 2004 that is the best I've ever owned. It has vented boot compartments on each end (and I can fit a pair in each, if I want!) separate goggle/glove pouch, main compartment with vented pockets for dirty gear, and a fold-out changing mat. Too bad they don't make those anymore; mine's about due for a refresh.

Not a roller though. I have had the same astars roller bag for like 15 years and love it. 3 compartments and the inside is bright yellow so you can see inside. Their newer one isn’t as good IMO. 

I know its not photos of the inside, but the descriptions help You know the materials they are using and where they use them.  You can't go wrong with an OGIO though. They will last forever. That said, I've sold a couple Thor bags and the customers have been very happy with them and are still using. They were the generation before this one though so I'm not sure how similar the insides may be. 

The Alpinestars bags are another bag I've sold  and it has been more popular than the Thor bag. They have a good assortment of bags that are well made.

I looked for inside photos and couldn't find any. The Thor bags I've sold  had a mix of materials inside.  and decent number of pokets. 

I have had Moose bags in the past , it was the biggest I could find att he time and I had it for years until it fell out the back of my truck on the highway and was hit, and gear scattered across 4 lanes of highway . Only things to survive were 2 single No Fear gloves and my HRP flak jak chest protector. A rivet or 2 broke , but I fixed it. It did look like it had been run over by a truck, so I retired it after that. 

 I normally  take great care in packing my bed of my truck. But My buddy and I were on our way home from riding and we saw somebody broken down that we rode with. We already had 2 bikes and gear bags, but we moved stuff around to get him and his bike into the truck. He didn't want to leave it to be towed with the Van. And one of us didn't click the strap I used to hold the bag in onto anything so off it went. 2 custom painted helmets  and a ton of gear. After that I bought an enclosed trailer and either brought that or less gear so I wouldn't have so much lost if it ever happened again.

Can't argue wth this. 9800s set the standard for moto gear bags. Pricey, yes but they last a long time.

OGIO also has the Trucker bag which sounds like it may be what OP is looking for?  Individual zippered storage compartments inside the bag. Better pricepoint at $199 too. However it doesn't have the SLED system the 9800 does. Part of what makes those bags so durable.

I used those for years. As good as they are if it rains at keeping gear dry, they also keep moisture in and started to smell really ripe after a while and when mine cracked I changed up for a bag. The newer containers like that do seem to be thicker and better made than the old one I used. 

I was at HD the other day and they have one that is so big, I bet You could ship a bike in it!!  It has wheels and a handle too. Pop the top off and stand it up and it would be like a portable closet.  

The 9900 was the king of all bags, I was a rep for Ogio in early mid 2000's and that thing was money.  Is the Trucker the cheap version of the 9900 w out the sled?  

The bag you're probably thinking of is the Dozer. That thing is massive. And it does not have the Sled.

Trucker is smaller than both Rig 9800 and Dozer. It's the lowest price point in the OGIO gear bag lineup.

MSR/Tusk has a knockoff of the 9800 that's kinda the "good nuff" edition. A shame they don't make then 9900 anymore it was the mac daddy, occasionally they roll across the flea-bay. I think the MSR model is a 3 compartment like the old 9900. 

My 9900 had to be at least 16 years old!  Still looks good aside from dirt on exterior from a couple weeks ago when rain caused bikes mud to fall on it in the back of my truck. I think they quit making the model a long time ago.

I do the same with helmet and boots.  The Ogio trucker isn't really cheap but it is quality and works great.  I use the helmet section for some spare parts, enduro jacket, base layers and random stuff.  It would nicely do goggles.  The vented upper section holds my knee braces.  The small section bottom left holds two sets of gear.  Lastly, the boots section holds an USWE hydration pack with spare bladder, chest protector and some spares a 

I really like the Fly Racing Grande gear bag.

Yeah I’ve left gear and goggles in one for like a month on accident and the damn goggles got mold on them. I tried to wash them and clean them up but it was too late, the foam started separating from the lens. Lol. Live and learn.

I want an OGIO gear bag but how the hell do you clean the inside of them if they get nasty?

Ohio 9800 and be done with it for good. 

Hockey bag 35 bucks

I have used for many many years from Army Surplus store the pilot bag. No dividers but a nice heavy duty bag. You can find them on eBay as well.

Get a regular Ogio 9800 if you care about lasting quality, large capacity and easy rolling. They are cheap used too and can last many owners.

Whatever you do... dont buy the OGIO T3 bag. That thing is about 5 lbs heavier than a regular 9800. Its insane how heavy it is just empty.

I went with two of the MSR gear bags - one for me and one for my son. One bag goes in the front seat and the other goes on the rear seat between the two front seats like a divider or armrest. Something to keep in mind with gear bags is that they last a very long time. I’ve had the same bag for 20 odd years. In comparison to gear it’s a longer term purchase so worth the extra spend.

I keep a trash bag or 2 in the bag for dirty gear. And bag the gear in the trash bag before putting it into the gear bag. That keeps it cleaner, and the  I just used a hose and scrub brush outside and some shampoo or dawn dish soap.  And then let dry in the sun  I wash helmet liners with the same shampoo I use . Sometimes just take them in the shower with me.  I've done it to avoid any possible rashes from using a cleaner that I had a reaction to.  I always try to rinse off my helmet and boots before putting them away after a very muddy ride.  And I never put a dirty helmet directly into a gear or helmet bag. I'll either bag it in a smaller trash or plastic bag putting dirty goggles inside the helmet and same with boots, or leave the boots out of the bag and in the bed or trailer. When Clean, I have always put all my gear into a bag.

 I have not been riding regularly for a while now. So I don't have a real gear bag right now. I've got some bags that look similar but are all open on the inside and only have a couple compartments on the outside of the bag for smaller stuff .  Similar in size to the smaller Alpinestars bag. I've been thinking of having a bag made to sell under my own branding at some point. So I've also been trying out some samples I've gotten.

I have not tried any of the new stuff that they make for deodorizing .  Pooph is something that might work, that I'll try when I'm able to ride more again. I've used it on some pet odors and some random dirty socks and clothing to see how well it worked and it works amazing. 

I am surprised some company don't make one for moto, be nice to have a place to sit, have some vents that could be opened and closed, dividers that could be moved around.

I'm still rocking my 1999 Fox Gear bag - it might be time to pay attention to this thread.

Yah that would be pretty cool.  They could even have it have fans to pull air out and keep it fresh . 

  Polisport has made a lot of stuff out of plastic that I wouldn't have thought possible. Maybe Polisport or one of the plastic companies  will make a Hard gear bag someday that has a built in seat like You said , maybe some liners that are disposable or washable. 

 I wonder if anything like that exits in the camping gear world? Probably be too big and heavy for camping , unless it could hold everything and more. I keep getting more and more ideas for ways it could be cool and helpful. I think it could be a cool product . Might end up being a bit too expensive though with all of my add on ideas. But people love stuff like the Packout boxes.
