Will be on a 250 for SX under 450 team tent and go 450 in MX.

I'm taking this to mean he gets to do his own gear deal in 250sx next year as well

Don’t know what tent…but, this is the Smart Money Method.

Does he race 250 or 450 at the SMX play-offs/finals? I’m guessing the outdoor season will decide that. Again, I’d go with the earnings potential.

Man, Deegs is starting to grow on me. He has won 2 small bike SMX titles. He has nothing to lose by trying to get in at Budds. Even if he has to go through the LCQ at the 450 SMX races he could potentially play a spoiler. I'm not saying he would win but man it would be entertaining.

He’s got to race the 250s in SMX…it makes way too much sense…to try to Three-peat.

That makes no financial sense. Doing that would mean leaving another potential 500k on the table for doing 3 races.

Racing Budds Creek on a 450 would not qualify him to race the SMX through the LCQ unless he won. He wouldn't score enough points to finish in the top 30 in combined SX and MX points to allow him to race the LCQs.

Totally pointless to race 250 SX again but whatever, guess he's scared to move up so hopefully it'll help his confidence some.

Psssst…

Yamaha wants him to run his last remaining 250 year in SX.

I'm mostly trolling but not entirely. I get all the reasons for doing this and with guys racing into their 30s it's no big deal, but I've said many times it'll never not be weird to me that people choose to stay in the minor leagues if they could go be in all star in the majors. And let's not pretend like that family is doing anything because of what someone else wants them to do.

I'll guess they matched Jett's HRC deal...with a 5-year gig.

The number 1 plates means a lot to the manufacturer, and sometimes, but probably not this time, it brings a good pay raise when you get to run it.

Tickle lost out on 400k when he was unable to race 250s the next year.

I'm an American but Haiden will be lucky to get a whiff of Jett's exhaust.

Deegs is amazing no doubt, but God made Jett for MX.

So he didn't have his own gear deal before?

I don't understand. What makes this different?

I’m actually glad he’s racing 250 sx again because he still has some things to work on in sx, but mx, well, we all know how that’s going and how dialed he is.

Totally pointless to defend his title, right?

In 250 Star they have a team gear deal, same as PC. In 450s their riders can wear whatever they want

I heard that has been a done deal for a while.  I am surprised I haven’t heard about it on vital yet.

Blair and others have stated he’ll take time and they’re likely correct, but I would not be surprised if he’s up there at the front right away.

They did  photo shoot with him on a 450 in Fox gear last week.

I'm surprised after that "racing 450's after 250 MX title wrap" debacle that Brian Deegan doesn't come out with "fake news" on this just to stir the pot.

It's all about the $$$$$$$, racing 250SX is easy money.

In a way I would hate to be in Deegan's situation right now- As he moves to the 450 class he will  be going up against Jett who is no doubt the fastest rider on the planet by far, generational talent we may not see again for a while...Almost an impossible feat to beat him.. Is it even possible to be faster than Jett on a dirt bike?!
