Really between this and a 450 coming off a 250 2 stroke. I was a bit apprehensive after seeing the italian videos but these videos from Neville paint the bike in a different light

That 79 was a good buy for me, though.. I disassembled the whole thing, cleaned it and reassembled it with some trick parts The bike looked like it had only been trail ridden a few times and put away for 45 years.  The only bolts on the whole motorcycle that ever had a wrench on them were the chain adjusters. The bike runs great and is surprisingly fast even compared to a modern bike.

A fuel pipe carries fuel from the tank to the carb….

And this sounds like no KTM 125 I’ve ever heard. Not everything is a conspiracy, would it have hurt just to say cool video?

Seriously? Even though the fender is the same? You can see the decal on it. Or do you think it was swapped so he can make a video to confuse the people of Vital?

I like Neville Bradshaw and 999lazer, who doesn’t? It just surprised me. You can keep saying it sounds like a 350 all you want but it doesn’t. It may be one but it looks but sounds like a 125. He’s not trying to confuse anyone. It’s just odd

wow! Bike looks amazing. Congrats and keep us updated with your review!

I got a chance to ride my 300 RX, but haven’t put a lot of time on it. The day I rode it, it was not a great day at the track to be testing a new bike as I arrived very late in the day and the bumps and ruts were some of the worst I had seen the track probably due to all the rain this summer.. there wasn’t a square foot on the track that did not have at least a 5 inch tall bump which made the Beta almost unrideable for me due to the unusually stiff suspension out of the crate. When I weighed 165 lbs, almost every new MX bike I bought needed stiffer springs. I now weigh 192 without gear and the rear shock doesn’t move when I push down on the rear seat.. It feels like SX suspension and I felt like I was riding a Harley hardtail around the bumpy track.. I was literally getting hammered and it was still too stiff after backing off the low speed compression 4 clicks. I wondered if they accidently put the wrong spring or wrong shims in the shock as it is valved quite weird. I need to get the suspension working to really get a feel for the bike and it may not be as simple as backing off the compression adjuster. I will try backing off several more clicks next ride. I have never received suspension like this on a new bike. I heard some say the Beta suspension comes with tight tolerances and needs to break in.

As for my other comments, I should mention that I have been riding a CRF450 with a lot of factory parts so the feel of all the controls, brakes, suspension on my benchmark bike is as good as it gets, and my last two stroke was a 2001 CR250, so a high bar to compare to and I am fussy.  The engine is decent although the hit comes at a fairly low rpm and then flattens out a bit, where as most 2 stroke 250 engines I have ridden like the YZ, RM and CR have more mid to top power. The Beta 300 RX is not a stump puller by any means, it just gets the job done. The thing is that since the hit comes at such a low rpm, you end up wheelie-ing out of many corners.  I tried the rain map setting and it was not a huge change, but it tones it down a bit. The exhaust valve is also easily adjustable to tone down the hit and extend over-rev.

The bike has great ergonomics, is extremely light, flickable and turns quite well, although the chassis felt busy which is probably the result of the overly stiff suspension. Given that Neville is much faster than I and was riding a track that was glass smooth compared to what I was riding, he didn’t say much about the suspension. The 350 RX may be sprung/ valved lighter than the 250 and 300 RX's which are targeted for pure MX racing.  The 350 RX is not targeted for serious MX racing.. it is targeting a vet rider that does some occasional MX practice riding and some trail riding.

The transmission felt a bit notchy and it makes it harder to know what gear you are in. I heard others mention this and they say that it gets better after a break in.

Two of the issues I had with the Beta were also mentioned by Neville Bradshaw on his first ride of the 350 RX. The stock seat foam is fairly hard and makes you feel like you are sitting atop the bike and also it is uncomfortable for me. I prefer a softer seat where I can sink in a tiny bit and feel more like part of the bike. I quickly changed to a guts seat with their soft foam right after I brought the bike home. The other issue that Neville mentioned is the wide fuel tank right at the knees.. the widest I ever felt on an MX bike.  People were right when they told me that you don't notice when riding. However, the problem I ran into was that the shift lever and brake lever are underneath the edge of the fuel tank. There were too many times where I couldn’t find the brake pedal or shift lever.  My solution is a longer shift lever with a bigger tip. The stock shift lever has a beautiful CNC arm, but the tip looks like a 5th grader hammered it out in shop class. It is super slippery and many times I missed the shift as I couldn’t grab it to upshift.  As for the brake pedal, I am putting on a bigger titanium tip and lowering the brake pedal below the foot peg level. It was a serious issue for me trying to find the pedals and I blame the fuel tank for it. A couple of times when I came into a fast corner right after a big jump and I went to stab the rear brake pedal and my foot went right past it like there was nothing there. After that I learned to turn my foot inward to catch it.

I didn't have a problem at higher speeds, but at slow speeds, I found the front brake very touchy. I will probably replace the front brake caliper with a Brembo or Moto Stuff caliper.

The clutch felt great, and the electric start on a big 2 stroke, the push button seat removal, and the tool-less quick change air filter, will spoil a cranky old mx rider fast.

The Beta is definitely one of the most stunningly beautiful bikes out there, has a lot of high quality parts, but for me it needs some work on the suspension and foot controls before I can really start to enjoy the bike.

Sounds like a good bike. It’s humorous for him to talk about Beta keeping the price down to 8990 Euros, which translates to $10, 459 usd? I wonder what they would consider an expensive bike. The real question is: how much could you modify it? Betas are known for smooth power, which is another way of saying slow. I also wonder if he meant there was a big lack of top end (not for pro riders) which might indicate a punched out 250. There’s nothing wrong with overbores if you not planning to modify it (imo). But usually having a smaller bottom end mated to a large top end slows the revolutions down, making for less and less top end and a smaller powerband (all bottom to mid). Either way, it sounded all positive.

Different Countries have different taxes etc from others, so, he probably is talking about Italy's price.

Hey,  as an example, as far as I can gather, you in the USA have varying taxes / Sales taxes from state to state.

There's always variables, that  you need to consider.

I think I last saw on the US Beta site, that the 2025 model 300RX is around $9399 msrp, the '25 450RX is $10999.  No pricing for the '26 models are up yet, but, the way things work, I'd say the 350 may well be mid way between the 26 250RX and the 26 450RX. Though, the '25 250 and 300 RR Race Enduro bikes, at $10399 and $10,699 have a reasonable / fair  mark up for the bigger sized engine, so, maybe the difference between the 250 and 350 may not be so great.

But, of course, it could be a Very Much in Demand new bike, and they will charge accordingly...........

Just as a side note, here in OZ, we are charged  $200 More for the '25 300RX, than the 450RX - WTF??????

We've gone through the Bore and Strokes before - with the current 300 being 69.9, the 350 said to be 73.6 stroke, bore being 73 and 78mm respectively. And, the current 250 being 72mm.

They've made, I assume, a base module to do both. Just like the KTM250 4 Stroke and the KTM350 4 stroke ( to give you a larger capacity increase than the typical 250 to 300 2t, and this Beta 300 /350 pair)  share the same , base casings. Relax - I doubt you'll be buying a 350, though, at least it exists, and not that photo shop '390' that you have as your avatar. Though, I really, Really hope that Kawasaki would  make something like that, as, it Could be a truly wonderous thing , with their forthcoming / rumored  2 stroke to come. I'd expect it to be a 300 / 250 combo, if it actually ever happens

I can tell from my experience , i own a few Midsize and Bigbore Twostroke

 21 TC 300, a 97 SX 360, a  98 SX 380, a 90 MX 500. and a 88 MX 550

The biggest difference between my 300 and 360 is not the topend power its very similar ,

but the 360 Engine is much stronger down low that is the big improvement over the 300 and makes it much easier to ride

I know there some Youtube Videos out there but i want to share the first impressions from the BETA RX 350.

I rode Twostrokes for 26 Years now and have some experience, additionaly i own some 80s -90s KTM  Big Bore Twostrokes so i have a good Comparison .

Current Bike is a Carburated Husky TC 300 with 39 Keihin ,full FMF and WP Cone Valve Trax Suspension .

First off all the 350 Beta feels higher than the Husky but the handling is very good .

The Engine i will say its a little stronger 300 motor but not the Big bore  feeling from my old 360/380 KTM.

Suspension was very hard , but this bike was brand new and i think it needs some time to break in .

At the end i feel better on the 300 Enduro , but it was a raining day and only a few laps on the 350.

Thanks for the review.....  at minimum it would be 10h to break in that chassis and suspension.  She'll feel much better then.

There is no such thing as too much power. Only not enough traction. Carroll Shelby.

I think this is why i felt better on the Enduro Bike because of the softer Suspension. It needs more time on that 350 , and another Track . This one was to short , that 350 needs a wide Open Motocross Track

Smaller rear sprocket will help with the wheelie-ing out of corners.

Good review. Not a lot of positive though unfortunately. Not sure how many people will be going for the 300. Quite a few issues.

I still have only one ride on the bike as the local track has cancelled practice at the last minute 2 weeks in a row. The first ride was less than ideal conditions exacerbated by the fact that the rear shock has way too much compression and rebound dampening. I am riding it again tomorrow after making many changes. I now have the shock LSC out 17 clicks and the rebound 18 clicks before it started to feel like a normal shock with the garage push down test. I may have to back off the rebound even more.. I have no idea what they were thinking, but I seem to be the only one complaining about the shock factory dampening settings. There is still a lot to like about the bike.

Re the 350 RX, I have noted inconsistent feedback from the riders.. Neville Bradshaw was saying it was soft and another guy this week says his was way too stiff. Even given that body weight and riding ability can be factors, they both seemed to indicate it was different from what they might normally expect on an MX bike out of the crate.

For $9500, though. Yeah that’s probably cheap compared to…

riders often mistake soft suspension for being too stiff because they are riding to far down in the stroke. I know you know this but they could be feeling the same thing just one guy knows how to describe it correctly. Mosiman thought it was soft as well.

Your shock wouldn’t be the first to be assembled with the incorrect valve stacks maybe there is something off in there?

Yup, I realize that, but you couldn't even move it more than a few mm by pushing down on the rear, after the sag was set. At the same time, the crazy slow rebound will cause it to pack and make it worse. I need more time with the bike to figure out what is going on.
