The biggest problem with Cooksey and Slowie is they seem to want to take down MX Sports but have no idea what they are doing. If Cooksey was smart, he would have spent time putting together all of his so-called evidence while he was still allowed in and then posted a big expose, or the better and less greasy way would be to try to post articles and videos that encouraged slight change while keeping in the good graces. Instead, he went scorched earth and posts some true stuff that is messed up along with stupid ass made up and not researched lies like when he accused Jeffery of being a pedo. After that stunt he's dead to me.

Slowie was going down the path of being a Cooksey-lite and they nipped it at the bud.

Slowie didn't really "say" much in most videos. He posts what he sees and experiences. So now we're at a point where we applaud MXSports in banning people that show things they don't want the public to see? I get they hate Cooksey and I can understand why...but banning people that are videoing things they don't want you to see is.......wild. DB makes fun of the "media" all the time...are they gonna blackball him, too?

He was showing a lot more of the "party atmosphere" in the pits, particularly at Red Bub.  Sponsors, investors, and insurance companies see those videos and then that has an effect on MX sport's bottom line.  Slowie only has about 20K subscribers, and Cooksey has 41K, but in a sport like MX that is enough to drive a media story.

In many ways Youtube and social media has really saved the sport SX and MX, but it has also been a double sided sword in some instances.

The party videos were funny at times but I was surprised he wasn’t questioned by authorities when he posted a video of some chick flashing a dude at high point, they said she was 18 but she looked like she was fucking 14.

I'm not saying that I disagree with you. MXSports has shown over their history that they are not afraid to be heavy handed. The fact is they have a monopoly and if you want to be contrary to the company line you need to be smarter or be prepared to face the consequences.

DB is much smarter in how he goes about things and while he is still the favorite of most core moto people the establishment wants him to fade into the woodwork. He is connected well enough and respected in the industry enough that the establishment doesn't have the guts to take him on like they did Cooksey but I doubt he can get a SX pass.

Congratulations to MX Sports for pushing back against these childish douches trolling for clicks.

Having a camera & a youtube channel doesn't equate to immunity from the consequences of one's actions.

I'm with ya.

Can you imagine someone going to an NBA game, filming some drunken nonsense that happens on the concourse and then getting a lawyer letter banning said person from any NBA game? No? That's cause it would never happen.

It's just wild that our industry is perfectly fine tossing people that don't say what "management" wants them to say. Hell, half the talking heads on ESPN are bagging on pro sports organizations for one reason or another...yet they are the biggest talking heads in those sports.

The comparison doesn’t work. The big pro sports league are completely supported by industries that thrive on debauchery and vice. Things like that won’t stop their fans from buying 5 and 6 figure season tickets, $30 beers, and it certainly won’t stop the broadcasters from paying billions for rights. Whereas dirt bike racing? C’mon now, don’t make me explain any further…

I say save your anger for a real issue.

If you had a YouTube channel dedicated to covering NBA games, including game footage in violation of their broadcast rights, and you got big enough that they take notice you can bet your ass you will be hearing from the team or the league. If you respond by increasing your rhetoric and making false statements, you will be banned just like your guy "Slowie".

Please stop potting DB and cooksey in the same sentence. They have nothing in common.

This isn't nearly as complicated as people want it to be. There's plenty of people with a credential that say all kinds of negative things about the sport and the people who run it, but they do it in good faith and don't say things they know to be untrue. The people being denied a credential are shock jock/national enquirer types. Nobody is giving these kinds of people a credential. It's not unique to moto.

What? God I swear the "fans" of this sport that flock to people like "slowie" and all the horesehit fake youtube moto channels are all the same.

Everything is a massive conspiracy, we are going to show the "REAL TRUTH", all the negative bullshit gets so old. Also this fan base is all made up of people who mostly never fucking raced in their lives and probably dont even own a fucking dirtbike.

And this is coming from someone who has been extremely critical of tim cotter and mx sports lol.

Unfortunately there are a lot of baby birds out there with their mouths open starving for this kind of content. Truth or facts don't really matter they just want/need to be part of a movement. The degenerates have aligned against anyone that has achieved any level of success, acceptance or authority in this industry, led by these YouTube types.

Never heard of Slowie, didn't know about the diving incident, nor the bike hitting the spectator. Now I do, trying to control the narrative just makes things worse. You need to address the root cause.

In the manufacturing and design world we have a saying, you can't inspect in quality. What that means is you can't consistently deliver good product merely by looking for defects before shipping, you have to reduce and strive to eliminate defects by addressing them in the design and manufacturing process. If bikes hitting spectators makes insurance too high, keep the bikes from hitting spectators.

This doesn't mean I condone of Slowie or Kooksey, but they don't provide the type of content I consume. Banning them just shines a light on them.

Does the NBA also have a major insurance issue that has the potential to kill the sport all together?

I don't think folks realize how precarious of a spot our sport is in insurance wise.

Dudes like Slowie showing the debauchery and other shit certainly won't help our cause for the future.

Again, not a devout Slowie fan but I’m confused why him and Cooksey keep getting mentioned in the same sentence, I thought one made vlogs at the races and the other made TMZ style breaking news content, both completely different

Hiding the debauchery won't solve anything either. Places like Red Bud that have things like lot B (aka camp drunk and stupid) and then get upset when what goes on gets out in the public are shooting their own toes off in the name of the almighty dollar Wink Nope, we'll just kick out seemingly harmless dudes like this guy over a grudge. I love and hate the sport all at the same time.

The sport also needs to take a long hard look at safety of the participants especially the youth/minors. I have a feeling that is the domino that will take things down anyway and not the partiers.

Because regardless of whether they are right or wrong, MXSports sees them both as public enemy #1.

Fair point.

I don't know much about Slowie at all, I was under the impression he posted a bunch of crash reels/highlights too.  Doesn't Burkeen do that as well?

That stuff as we all know is part of the sport but I don't think blowing it up all over social media is doing us any favors.

You don't consider the video in this thread a TMZ style (attempted) hit piece?

Kinda wondered why they always denied Burkeen a media pass. Honestly from reading all this it makes clear sense on them not wanting the footage out there he posts. Also, his whole following is looking for that type of footage so makes sense for him to keep at it and draw clicks by claiming no access.

Not arguing but that's the world we live in. There is no hiding anything. Just ask the two cheaters busted on camera at the Coldplay concert recently lol!

The one clip of Ryno obviously high/drunk or whatever exposing his pubes to some chick made me laugh and want to hurl at the same time. He's pathetic.

In his eyes he is trying to show viewers in his eyes 'core fans' aka the rednecks who will chug 12 cans of beer and act like morons at every outdoor race, warm up in the morning by chugging white monster and punching dry wall.

They are the only people to watch his content and leave comments saying fuck mx sports, fuck Coombs.

They simply aren't fans they are the type of people who would put a spoon under a tap full blast themselves and blame the tap.

No it’s definitely a hit piece, but not nearly to the same extent as any of the Cooksey videos I’ve seen. I watched it last night while I was crumbling breadcrumbs and chopping parsley so I wasn’t locked in the entire time but he seemed to more damn this sucks than conspiratorial

That’s a shame….

7/29/2025 12:29pm

Slowie is just an east coast dude who missed the boat on being an insta banger filmer in SoCal 10 years ago. Dude just posts false info all day. People on Facebook seem to love it though

I skimmed this thread. Are there any examples of the content that got him banned? Like has Slowie himself or MX sports come out and said THIS is the stuff?  Or are we all speculating?  I would like to hear MX Sports specific reasons for booting him.

I can understand not wanting to promote the wild nightlife part of the sport  and make it seem like everybody is hammered and fighting.   I could see it impact ticket sales, I know that in the past I have had people tell me they would never have brought their daughters to Unadilla in the past because of how wild it was. MX sports could be worried that Slowie putting out this content is also contributing to it getting more wild. That the videos are attracting more people that are going to races to try and get on his videos by doing something dumb. And giving Insurance companies more reasons to increase the rates they charge.

Perhaps MX Sports is trying to land some bigger sponsor deals that his partying content is impacting their deal?

Who knows, I have had limited interaction with MX sports , DC and that crew . But its all been positive, . Its mostly from years ago at this point though. I think that they must have some valid reasons for kicking him out.  If something he's doing was not causing them trouble, Why would they want to stop him from doing what he's doing?

I've only seen a very little bit of his videos, Its not the type of content I enjoy . So perhaps I've missed him saying something . But I remember hearing DC talk in a podcast or interview of some kind about talking to Slowei about LL last year or some point in the past. I would hope that DC or somebody from MX sports would have reached out and talked to him before kicking him out. And give him a chance to change up the way hes doing stuff.  Let him know he is causing them trouble.

Maybe he could follow Hoppers example and shift his coverage. Highlight the amazing family aspect of the sport more.  That part of the sport is one of the big reasons I think it is so amazing. Yah his current audience might jump ship. But he could also end up gaining viewers . I enjoy Hoppers stuff now that he is no longer putting out the negative BS he was doing while hanging with Cooksey.

I used to think he wasn’t that bad. Now I feel like he’s another Cooksey. Says he loves the sport but tries to paint everything in a negative light for views and clicks. This is the video that made me think, ugh. He refused to take it down, even though he was flat out wrong. He just edited the description after being called out. Just my .02.

I was one who commented under his video and basically told him he needs to remove it since he was spreading false information. That was a pretty big false claim in his part, the right thing to do is remove the video and post a new one clearing it up / apologizing.

So shocker, when you say something false and damaging about an organization, don’t properly fix it, you’re probably not getting approved for a credential at their events.

I remember seeing that Instagram post and I knew it wasnt Jeremy Hand who caused the red flag. If I knew it wasnt caused by Hand, this dude should have known. Plus many in the comments were saying he was incorrect.

I do raise the question of what MC Sports issue with Matt Burkeen is. Denied him press credentials for High Point and Southwick. He's not a TMZ style content guy. Not saying who's right or wrong. Just curious

Yaa I was wondering the same about MattyB, his videos are actually pretty cool.

Slowie: making videos only some folks see
DC: We don't like your videos cause they hurt my feels
Slowie: .............
DC: AHA! You've been banned for LIFE!!!

Everyone: Who is this slowie guy?? Let me go watch/subscribe to his videos!!

Mission accomplished?

Agree 100% !   If you are afraid of getting your insurance yanked because of ridiculous nighttime activities, crack down on those activities!!!  Not rocket science.  However, MX Sports doesn’t want to piss off a significant percentage of these type fans as it will cut into their gate money.  So, they’ll just turn a blind eye to it until something really bad happens and then they’ll just do their best to “sweep it under the rug”.   Ya can’t have it both ways…..
