What is the other side of this story? I understand Cooksey and his hard on for mxsports but this seems a bit excessive unless I missed something. Ofcoarse mxsports could do better, as every company in the world could also do better, but seems like they are over reaching here to me. Am I missing something?

I used to think he wasn’t that bad. Now I feel like he’s another Cooksey. Says he loves the sport but tries to paint everything in a negative light for views and clicks. This is the video that made me think, ugh. He refused to take it down, even though he was flat out wrong. He just edited the description after being called out. Just my .02.
Unfortunately some of these media outlets are like the mainstream media, just looking for a way to get likes or followers. Instead of Trump Derangement Syndrome, they have MX Sports derangement syndrome.
I was one who commented under his video and basically told him he needs to remove it since he was spreading false information. That was a pretty big false claim in his part, the right thing to do is remove the video and post a new one clearing it up / apologizing.
So shocker, when you say something false and damaging about an organization, don’t properly fix it, you’re probably not getting approved for a credential at their events.
Slowie looks like he smells for a living

This paints a slightly different picture. I can’t see what the original post said but should a lawyer be involved in this if this is the reason? Is this similar to the matt burkeen issue? I’ve never watched slowie or whatever his name is videos and don't care to catch up on them so be easy on me if I’m missing something. I like Matt’s video's and my kids enjoy his commentary but it seems he has been banned as well. Is this a copyright deal or mxsports doing?
Who the fuck is that, and why would anyone care what he thinks or says? And what does this thread have to do with Lorettas? So confused lol
I remember seeing that Instagram post and I knew it wasnt Jeremy Hand who caused the red flag. If I knew it wasnt caused by Hand, this dude should have known. Plus many in the comments were saying he was incorrect.
I do raise the question of what MC Sports issue with Matt Burkeen is. Denied him press credentials for High Point and Southwick. He's not a TMZ style content guy. Not saying who's right or wrong. Just curious
😂 ok thats funny. And accurate
I mean, don’t you need to be press to have a press credential? Doesn’t Matt just go around shooting videos of dudes falling and saying the same thing over and over? Maybe not? Idk I don’t follow him.
Yeah, he does that.
But I think he's likable, got a good perspective, and would be a good trial run for a press pass. I love his banter. Feels like me & the bois talking shit in the truck on the way to the track.
Slowie come across like an attention seeker.
I believe he's had press credentials before so what changed?
Don’t think he has. He always shot outside of the fence as far as I know.
Perhaps my memory is failing me. Wouldn't surprise me
Not a post on whoever these folks are, just Lorettas in general..... I watched a few clips today on Vurb of practice, and that place looked empty compared to years past. Usually a long the county road, semi trailers, folks on golf carts, people standing in the infield area..... and that was including practice day. Anyone there that can tell if it is down this year? Even my 80 year old Mom noticed it..... She texted me and said "looks like the times have caught up...... place looks down this year". Not bitching, just curious.......
the lawyer letter he posted accused him of defamation. for something to be defamatory, it has to be harmful and false. it doesnt seem theyve specified what was harmful. complaining about the rise in costs to go to mx sports events? if so, that's not untrue. i'd like to know what it was that triggered tim cotter or whomever, otherwise it just looks like politics. getting the wrong rider for the red flag isnt great but isnt per se harmful.
I’m not sure why everyone is downvoting an honest discussion about the curiosity surrounding a permanent ban of a Videographer/blogger that goes to races lol. I’ve been watching his videos for a while, he really doesn’t talk horribly about MxSports, sure he’ll have some criticism or opinions, but he’s not really the type of guy who is trying to defame them. He’s made some claims that were false before because he genuinely thought that was the case (I.e. claiming Jeremy hand was the reason for the red flag 🚩 at shougal) but he’s very quick to admit when he was wrong and correct himself. Look at his instagram. He doesn’t even comment too much of his own opinions, he literally just takes his camera, goes to all the nationals, and captures as much as he can on video. Then posts it. Just raw footage. Whether that be interviewing people , genuine conversations he has with people, or partying at redbud, porta potties being blown up, fights that happen at races on amateur day, crashes and etc…. In no way is that defaming MXsports intentionally. He just records what he sees 🤷🏽♂️ but apparently they don’t like the fact that he shows the side of the sport MXsports doesn’t like, the true moto fans lol or the partying culture. Just my two cents though. I find it crazy that a racing series bans a guy with a camera who just presses play.
I agree with your take. I don't follow his social media but do watch some of his videos. Ive never heard him bad mouth mx sports. If anything he gives them free advertisrment. Cooksey getting banned on the other hand I can see why. I can also see why they worry about insurance and some videos but fix the issues and you'll never stop everyone from making videos. To me this feels like mx sports (mostly Tim) just throwing his weight around because he can. Im not some super fan of the guy but he always seems positive and gives a decent view of what goes on at the events.
Pit Row
The letter he got for reference.
Exactly, I’m not even what you would call a “fan” of his. I’ve met him once in real life, chill ass guy and genuine, loves racing and humble. I watch some of his videos. But anyone with a reasonable rational brain could see problems with the ban lol. What cracks me up the most though is how the “lawyer” addresses him as “Connor Slowie” 🤣 they don’t even know his real name.
That letter looks like a template against "defamation" lol. Just fill in "Person's name", "Events" and click send.
Agreed again. I should of said I'm not even a fan of his. Ive also never met the guy. As a guy thats had a track and worried about stuff I still don't see the need for the ban. Talk to the guy first and tell him your issues. This is just going to give people like cooksey more bashing content. They had that letter made up that day and it was pretty amateur. Again I hardly follow the guy and I know his last name. But I'm not really shocked. Ever since I was little the mx sports staff has gave me bad vibes. I'm not saying every single one just the ones I've came in contact with. Ive never came in contact with Davey either so the only things I know about him is what gets posted. So he could be a great guy or a bad guy I don't know.
If the website run by the couple who are not journalists and just wanted to go on an extended moto vacation, then put out content calling everyone racists and talking about how the patriotism at opening ceremonies made them uncomfortable keep getting a credential, then I'm not sure how anyone gets denied a credential.
"slowie" and cocksey are the same person. never have liked either of them. its all about clicks and views. both dumb as hell.
How are they the same?
i really hope this is just a disingenuous take and not a small brain attempt at gatekeeping. everything is about clicks and views. cucksy and slowie aren't even on the same axis.
i had an odd dispute with DC on here in the past. he took the time to issue a reasoned reply, but his -- what i'd term -- emotional reaction/response to the dispute came across to me as rather coarse and boomerish. though the way he handled the drone guy at hangtown was reportedy reasonable. i wonder if that guy ever actually got popped by the FAA or not...
Charging people crazy amounts of money just to park their car and stand along the road fence to watch can have that effect, apparently.
basically,
he fucked around, and now hes found out,
Call me crazy, but banning this dude from any future SX or MX event because of that video is excessive.
