Chase Eli Haiden

It’s Deegan’s chance to impress this year. We’ve seen what he can do against an inconsistent, somewhat down 250 class in USA.

Yeah. You know guys like de wolf will want to beat him badly but I don't think at Ironman anybody stands a chance

I like it…if we lose with that team, we take it on the chin and come back next year…no excuses…but without some bad luck (mechanicals coughstaryamahamcough) that should be a winning team…

Deegan is going to want to prove himself and will be racing with a chip on his shoulder and seems to ride to the occasion….If chase doesn’t tuck the front, he should be very close to Jett…and if Eli can get a start he should beat Hunter…

We've also seen what he can do when the guys are healthy.  Which is win.

Really though, it's a lose/lose for Haiden at the MXoN.  If he gets beat, people will say, neener, neener, neener.  If he wins, people will just say he cherry picked the race because it was on home turf.

The strange thing about the MXoN is that very often it's the riders that are expected to win that don't do as well, and the riders that aren't expected to win, come out of nowhere and have the ride of their life. Paul Malin in 1994 would be a good example, though there are many other examples even in recent events.

Fuck that noise. If he wins, hes an American legend to me. I personally value MXdN wins very highly. Thats just me personally.

No matter the results, I love this team selection!

Also, if Deeg’s follows through and rides it I’ll be a fan that he did it.

I'm so happy that Degan is making the sacrifice to travel all the way to Indiana to represent our country this year. What a patriot.

Depending on how the Aussie 250 rider performs will decide if we win or not. Australia is a strong contender for many years to come.

I don't know what other 250 rider could help against this USA team.

Beaton is out, he broke his femur last week.

I'd suspect that Webster will be on a plane right after the final ausmx moto to come race a 250 at Ironman the following week. The timing couldn't be any better, get him familiar with the bike and track and possibly racing Dilla and Budds Creek too. Spend the next 2 months getting comfortable on the 250 ready to go at Ironman again

Yes, but you shouldn't forget about his no-shows the last two years. It's good he's going this year, but that doesn't mean he should be forgiven for the other two. Patriotism isn't a pick and choose type of thing.

I don’t care if they win or not. The fact they are going deserves respect. I’m just saying, Haiden will get sh*t on either way. Herr Lick proves my point.

FFS man. He deserves shit. He used patriotism and the American flag in order to whip up shit against the Lawrences and then came up with highly dubious excuses for not racing MXON twice in a row. You seem to have no capacity to see that the Deegans don't behave decently at all most of the time.

He wants to represent NZ. However, he could rep Aus if he wanted as you don't need to be a citizen to represent a country in MXON. Just have to have a FIM competition licence issued by a National Motorcycle Federation. So If Cole got his issued by the Aus Federation he could ride for Australia.

Yes, absolutely. Anyone that goes, win or lose, gets my respect. And your main point is correct about Deegz getting hate either way

We'll see how it plays out, you must drop the gate, because the event is not decided on paper.  But today, Jett has a slight edge on Chase and I believe Eli has a slight edge on Hunter.  Pretty close to a wash there.  Even if Hunter edges Eli slightly, will it be enough to overcome the rather large advantage that Deegan has on whoever AUS puts on a 250?  Doesn't seem like it.  It was close last year with Webb on a 250...  Just have to think about that to realize how this year is so different.

Best part, MXoN rarely races like it looks on paper which is what makes it the best race of the year by far.

The Belgians have a stud team too with Coenen, Geerts and Coenen.  France always has speed and there will be more that we look at as a threat...

Yes, just need 1 finish out Sacha.  But also need Geerts back on form.  He started this season around top 20, then top 15 and now top 10, but he's also been really inconsistent.  Just don't know what you're going to get.

If Van Doninck keeps out performing him, than I think we should pick BVD instead of Jago Geerts. But we will see, what will happen.

Why, whoever it is, they just have to give their all.

Que sera sera,

Australia will do their best as they always have.

The USA at home are always favourites, I feel bad for their whole team, expectation are always unrealistic.

Webster went 11-19 and got beat by Cooper Webb.  You just have to think about the difference between Webb and Deegan outdoors on a 250 to see why the game is different this year.

Yea, that P11 was good though.

He certainly did, in one moto at least, and that was all we needed.
The concern this year though is Webster isn’t in the same form and there may be some injury concerns. Hoping he can rise to the occasion again.

His family’s calculus of what is best for him. Deegan has been good at marketing, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t make mistakes.

What do you mean his "family's calculus of what is best for him"?

Are you privy to to the choices Haiden, along with Star Racing and his team choose and the reasons they choose them?

You've changed your tune 971. Where are all your illogical tortured explanations from last year? Now, you've settled on 'it's his right to choose what's best for his career? Which makes him even less of a patriot than ever. Additionally, when did it become a respect thing to decide to represent your country? As though it's such an imposition? Anyone with any respect for their county should be representing it. I respect people more who go out of their way to enact their patriotism than those who are clearly 'patriotic' when it suits their purposes. Brian Deegan has no deeper principles beyond profit and clicks.

Put hunter on 250 and CR22 on 450 and make this interesting.

Seriously...... with a few months to prepare, who's your best bet for 3rd Australian? Let reed blow his wad in one moto, give him gate pick, and drop the other...... if nothing else we'd all be entertained!!!
