Deegan 450 At Budds

If he clinches and races 450 the last round.......I would bet on top 4.

But this is great. Stoked he's putting it up and not taking the safe/easy path of collecting another 250 win bonus/playing it safe before SMX. Top 5 all day.

This will be awesome if it happens, totally unexpected. Would have one to be one of the most anticipated gate drops in a while IMO.

He be GUUUUUD at Budds too. I think it would be a good day to finish right around J-Coop. I imagine 4th-6th. Maybe even a podium if he stays up and gets good starts.

Ride a YZ125 in final race. Win it and achieve legendary status. Lose it and was just having fun. 
He has the rest of his career to ride a 450. 

Assuming Jett, Hunter, Eli and Chase are racing, I think I'd put Deegan in the 5-10 range - battling Hampshire, Cooper and Prado.

I would rather see this as well.  It would be great for his socials as well as it is a no downside situation as Kurt says. Loses, the bike is under powered. Wins, legend.  A can't lose situation. 

And I would rather see him rip a 125 on a personal note. 

Don't think he could challenge Jett or an "on it" Sexton for a whole moto, but I could see him dicing it up in the 3-5 range with the likes of Tomac, Hunter (if they aren't having "on" days) and JCoop/Hampshire.

Top 10 easy. Would take a DNF for him to miss the top 10. 

I think he runs between 4th and 7th. Decent shot at top 5. But there’s enough quality on the track he could miss out. I think he probably has Hampshire and Cooper covered. But roughly that level is where I expect him to be.

I bet he chalks it the next 4 motos & doesn’t clinch early. Jo is on a roll & without his rear brake issue it would be 3 wins in a row.

“IF” it happens he will still be back on the 250 for playoffs. I think its doubtful but still a hell of a good PR story

I have said before that he could be the 2nd 450 for MXoN just like Jett did.

Some "Believe the Hype #38" shirts are in order for Budds. 

Gotta respect it if he does line up, no ducking or dodging there. 

Is there any chance he'll be on a 450 for Supercross?  I hope so, because I think it will make the 450 and 250 classes more interesting if he's on a 450.  Would a good performance at Budd's Creek help to decide about SX?  

Or is there just no way Star would be able to have him in 450SX in 2026?

I think there is a solid chance Deegan lines up for 450 SX at A1. Remember his rookie season on 250’s he planned to do Futures and moved up early after a dismal showing in the first Futures race. That worked out well for him, so I could see something similar here with him jumping into 450s head first. 

Edit to add: I can totally see this playing out last minute and the Deegan’s loving all the attention. He will be racing for 450 SMX points next year so it would make sense to do the entire season in 450 class rather than 50/50 like Schock has done this year. I know the plan is Deegan on one coast and Davies on the other. But I could see it happening. 

He’s not nearly dominant enough to win on a 125. James did it when the disparity in performance was much closer. I still would expect James to win on a 125 today against modern 250s.

Came to comment this.  Would be cool to see him on a 450 at budds just for the excitement but I don’t think he will clinch early if Jo can keep putting it together like he has the last few weeks 

What would add to the silliness even more is if Jett clinched the 450 title early and raced a 250 at budds to fuck with deegan.

Haiden will smoke em all on the 450.

I kind of look at Hayden like an RJ situation where the 450 will smooth him out, Hayden is always wanting more from the bike so the 450 will take care of that and give him what he wants. Just get used to the gyro and heavy weight, and have a good setup.
