I found this and it seems pretty legit, James Stewart coming back to race Chad Reed's 2026 RMZ450 two stroke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGVK_2sSFjY
The pipe looks revolutionary
This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t really mind kicking a bike, who gives a fuck.
Full disclosure, I pretty much only ride moto, so it’s one or two kicks and I’m off. If you’re riding a lot of off-road or trails where you’re more prone to stalling then yeah estart is sweet.
My KTM 300 has left me looking like a dumbass trying to bump start it at Pala because the battery was dead though so there’s that. 🤷♂️
We were promised a pull -start !
i agree, im not sure what the obsession with e start is.

I had a day at the track with a dead battery on my 350 SFX. Was a little jealous of the RMZ parked near me. Now that I've had to deal with it, I kind of prefer the simplicity of kick start.
There was ONE total at River Valley last Saturday. There were Two electric Starks. But who's counting right?
What's the connection here?
Talking about two bike brands you rarely see at that track.
Pretty simple to decipher there Indiana Jones….
My knees are F’d
I got a Kawi for the e start
I still have old RMs in the garage but for my normal practice days it’s the bike with the button
I'm asking what the connection between seeing starks and zooks is, as in why that was brought into conversation. Don't know why you had to be a smartass about it. But, I'd be bored as F too if I lived in Ohio so i guess I get it... dork.
2 long rotten bananas. Suzuki could actually sell some bikes if they dropped the msrp a few grand to get people into the sport. But obviously their ego won’t let them. R&D has been defunct for a decade now.
They have effectively dropped the MSRP by $2k with their nearly perpetual manufacturer's rebate. Which is dumb. If they are always going to offer a cash rebate, they should just officially roll it into the price.
My 2014 RM-Z 250 works perfect for me,..
I’m on my second RMZ 250. Selling my GasGas because I enjoy it so much. Re spring, re valve, and some softer engine mounts make it a very well handling bike. I put 90 hours on my 2015 and had zero problems. I picked this 22 up for $4300 with 5 hours on it. For the money they’re excellent for weekend warriors.
Nice..................Is that a 2014 or 2016? Looks great
Did Suzuki buy a whole container ship worth of BFRC shocks that they can’t get rid of? How much would it cost to throw the 250 shock revalved on it. Even if you spent a couple weeks with a test rider what are we talking 10-20k max. I feel like if they updated the suspension it wouldn’t cost that much and they could advertise “all new suspension” but instead they just walk in and smash the start button on the assembly line.
Absolutely would be a great move, but yes, they must have gotten an amazing deal on some BFRC and have to run them through production.

Bro that bike looks gorgeous with the oem graphics, seat, and black rims. The aftermarket pipe and bars was all it needed to clean it up a bit and now its perfect!
Dude when I bought my 17’ husky fc250 (best looking oem husky year imo, looked like this)
When I bought that bike it was my first ever electric start bike and always needing to leave it on the trickle charger or the battery would die friggin pissed me off. It seemed like that battery died so easy it was a pain in the ass. I could never trust it. I would have put a kicker on that thing in a heart beat if I had the option, it used to drive me crazy.
I’m way too light for a 450 and the rmz250s suck, I’m in my mid 30s now and dont want to get hurt so I’m seriously debating just getting a yz125. Its pretty hard to get going fast on them, but if you really try you can do it and its rewarding. But most of the time its just gonna sound awesome while youre going slow as hell. I live near southwick and its even harder to get going fast on a 125 there so that might be just what the doctor ordered.
Fixed.
Keefer has stated "again" new RMZ model 2027
I'm happy with my 2011.
Here's what I think is happening:
Suzuki brass has decided not to compete in the motocross bike sales market. However, they won't completely abandon the models as long as they are selling in large enough numbers to justify the production. That means no R&D, just marketing efforts and BNG (occasionally, in this case).
For those wondering about the BFRC shocks, I doubt Suzuki has a truckload of inventory. It's more likely that they do not want to spend the R&D time to test with another shock - and yes, they would test it.
Kicking an overheating 450 after you fell in a technical section or on the side of a hill 2 hours into a XC race really sucks.
Does Suzuki even have an R&D team for motocross bikes?
I do not believe they do in the US anymore. But I think they do have some new test riders in Japan according to one of the guys who pops up in here once in awhile and has a couple connections at Suzuki.
I rode at MX2.0 out east of town yesterday (Houston area). Parked behind me was a guy with a late model RMZ450, I’d guess 24, 25 model. I seldom see a yellow bike, if I do it’s older. I have to admit, that dang Suzuki stood out. I walked over and looked at it, it was sharp. It was show room stock but nice looking ride, kick start or not.
The track owner and I were talking, like he said if Suzuki ever comes out with electric start they will sell everyone they make. I’d say he was right.
