Fellers, I'm old and retired.  Military retirement, social security, and couple of small pensions.  Fixed income they call it.  More than enough when I retired in 2021.

I went to the commissary on base for my monthly meat stock up.  SON OF A BITCH.😵

Chicken costs more than pork used to...pork costs what choice beef used to...and beef costs more than gold.  And that's at the COMMISSARY.

What's a poor boy gonna do?  I guess I'll have to go back into the chicken and rabbit bidness to have meat in my diet.  OK, got that off my chest.🙃

I’ve seen meat and produce cheaper at Costco.

What really surprised me was finding gas cheaper off base than on base: $3.97 v &4.09 (San Diego area)

Also…beef can be had from local ranchers for great prices…but, ya might need a good sized freezer! 🤣

Crazy prices are for things like Honey! It’s gone bat-guano crazy since The Virus 🙁

Lowest price at the pump in four years.

Bumped up a dime around here lately.

Still sitting at $2.69 at quality (shell) stations.

Some out on the hwy's are gouging travelers around $2.89 and up.

Still below $3.

Stop waiting, get out and go somewhere.

Gas was almost $3.00 a gallon all through Georgia when I was driving through it last week. That's usually the cheapest on the East coast. It hasn't moved in 2 years.

Eggs are $4.50 a dozen. Chicken breasts are 4.50 a pound regular price for the cheap stuff, ground beef $4-6 a pound.

Houses are staying on the market long, dropping 5k but still overpriced especially at 8%loan rates.

Steel, aluminum, plastics, and composites are as expensive as ever.

Copper went up as well. We have jobs we obtained six months ago and, had to make adjustments to the bid with the rising cost off materials.

What you're seeing is currency debasement, and it's happening all over the world.

This is why I have such a huge problem being forced to pay into Social Security.  If you're going to not only force me into a non-yield bearing government sponsored savings account, but at the same time debase the currency while robbing me of the opportunity to invest that money into an asset that tracks the inflationary rate at an absolute minimum, you've now stolen from my present and future self just to keep the ponzi scheme going.  Just imagine, had you been allowed to invest all that money you wasted on SS into a very simple S&P500 tracking ETF like SPY you would have close to a $1million more in your retirement fund then you do playing by their rules.  These people do not want you living a comfortable life and they damn sure don't give two shits about your happiness or ability to provide for yourself, their actions prove it.  You'd have no problem paying for whatever meat or groceries you'd like with that extra chunk of change.

Knoxville:  Gas hasn't gone down a bit$ 2.69-2.89.  Been getting grass fed beef for 3.99lb for the past few years, just went up to 4.99lb.  Typically buy it from Costco for about $5.30ish a pound.  Chicken breast normally 3.99 and organic for 5.99.  Hopefully we see gas come down, it never went down here even though oil dropped from. nearly $80 a barrel to $60s.  In my opinion we need more refineries to meet demand.  Please ty of oil, not enough refineries.  Govt needs to lease some space on an old military base for a new refinery, skip the 20 years it takes to get permits approved.  Govt makes money from lease and we get relief from fuel prices.

Shell station in Dixie lee junction (west of watt rd) is usually 10-20 cents less than the average.

(Sometimes not)

Ingles in lenior city is always 20+ cheaper than average.

If you're out in that area.

Christy from Guts…texted us that she’d paid $1.89 …the next day I was in Nor Cal paying $3.89…I was reflecting on that and laughing…tho, I did pay $3.47 in Nevada the day after…which is nice!

Gas Buddy shows cheapest gas in the area at $2.49…? So, maybe she mis-typed or it has gone up. All I know is I was hatin’ on Cali when I read $1.89…

I've called Trumpy out on things on here but he's a legend as he's helped the Oz dollar gain 10c on the American dollar.

Why couldn't his happen last year in Sept when we were over there.

Some but not all shell stations also participate in Kroger rewards. Use it all the time. 88 has been 3.40-3.60 in UT for a while it seems.

Here, this will get me a full ration of shit…

An amazing “go to” when you’re somewhere that only has the center aisle stuff…

Folgers Black Velvet. No shit. I got it in a pinch…in Baja…I make my own coffee when we’re pre-running or racing down there…and…no shit…it makes a good cup of coffee. We make “Bullet-proofs” in the morning when we ride. My team-mate that ONLY drinks it straight…and strong…asks me to carry it on the road now. 🤣

On the road I use a one-cup drip maker that is easy to use, clean (clean out the steel mesh basket between cups), easy to fill with water and makes big 12-16 ounce cups quickly. I’ve been fooling coffee snobs with it for years.

And, yes, I even have a French-press…for the true snobs.
