I don't think even Jett can best him, let alone tetering on retirement tomac..

Deegs can push for 30 minutes.... Jett can only go warp for a half lap here and there... seriously... Jett will need to figure out how to go wfo for 30 or he will not beat deegs...

Jett is plenty fast, just rides with a much smoother style. I bet HD will be up there with him though.

Haiden will be a podium contender a few races into the outdoors if not immediately. He looks ready for the 450 outdoors now. I will be surprised if he has a lot for Jett at least for a while but I think everyone else will be on notice.

I honestly thought Jett would have a little trouble on the big bikes because of how thin he is. He has the technique and rides flowy but I thought he’d be better with a little more mass. Obviously I was mistaken.

Jett is sort of thin but built like a brick shithouse especially now as he gets into his 20's. I think he is as physically strong as anyone on the starting line including Eli. I think it is something that is overlooked when we discuss the young man. I think it is a big contributor to his ability to ride the way he does.

Let me guess.  You probably think that a kid from NZ with two regional sx wins is generational, but Haiden who has a regional sx title, two smx titles, and is in the driver's seat for his second outdoor title is Believe the Hype 2.0?

You and Paul333 should have a pajama party and talk about how much you dislike DNGR DEEGZ.

The first SMX title was hardly won in dominant fashion. The regional SX title was hardly won in dominant fashion. Cole Davies is already a better SX rider and is improving rapidly.  Haiden is a great outdoor rider and both titles were well deserved. But he is not Jett. As Eli Tomac is presently finding out, Jett Lawrence is in an entirely different category.

I don't believe Deegan will beat any top 5 guy his first 450 year in SX or MX. There is a lot to learn about the 450 class that will take longer to adapt to with his riding style than in the 250 class.

Jett, Hunter, Ken, Eli, Aaron, Cooper, Chase, Justin, RJ, Malcom. That is 10 riders who will not be easy to beat so next year will be interesting to watch and how well will Eli and Chase gel with their new bikes?

To be clear, I have NOT been a Deegan fan up until now.  His big mouth and arrogant attitude have been a real put-off for me.  But there is not denying his winning and obvious determination to be a champion.  I'm curious why you would say that a dominant 250 rider and multi-time MX/SX champion will not beat any top 5 450 rider in SX or MX, when the previously dominant 250 rider (Jett) beat EVERYONE his first year?   Why the double standard?  I don't really like Deegan and think he's acted like a punk in the past, but people are CRAZY (blinded by their dislike of him like I was?) if they don't think he is going to be well-prepped and come out fighting in the 450 class.

Because Jett is a better rider than Deegan. He is the FMOTP.

History may have taught us a thing or maybe not.
I remember when Jett was coming into the great outdoors for his inaugural year of 450’s. There was some debate here on vital on how he would do. Win a moto, win an overall or a title. I dont think anyone seen him having an undefeated season.
One thing Ive learned is that I wont bet against Jett.
On another note, I dont want to bet against a phenom in the lights class of the caliber that Deegan is showing right now either.  I did that with Jett.
Do I think Deegan could go undefeated? Hell no.
Do I think he wins a moto? I do.

Do I think he wins an overall? Not sure.  I think if he does it will be by way of a 3-2 moto score due to the competition he will be around.

I agree with many on here that he wont intimidate and family man on the gate though.  Them boys are racing to buy diapers, house mortgage, retirement and pride.

I think Haiden will have the speed but we've seen no indication he'll ever have Jett's starts. Jett got ok starts on an underpowered Honda weighing 20-30lbs more than the other 250 riders. Now on a powerful 450, hes the best starter in the world. Haiden weighs nothing on the fastest 250 on the gate and hes still not holeshotting most motos. So I dont see the improvement in starts, like Jett, on a 450. Haiden could have similar speed to Jett but I dont see him running down Jett 10sec back from a midpack start. No way

I’m not certain you’re correct on this, but it certainly would be great to see someone push Jett week in and week out.

Deegan isn't even in the same league technically as Jett. All we are going to see if Jett pull bike lengths each corner using technique while Deegs spins on the spot while grabbing a handful

pro riders, media guys, coaches,  and persons who critque riders skills, flaws, technique on youtube etc disagrees with you lol deegan spinning his way through corners from mid pack to first and dominating round after round.   seek help, you need medication.

Going to be interesting to see how the Deegan's handle their brand not being the alpha dog of the class and no longer a little kid anymore.

Haiden won his title a round early, had the most wins in the his class, won the E/W shootout with ease, and more often than not, set the fastest times.

Yet somehow you, along with the 6 sods that liked your post, are convinced Cole is better. You don't have any actual facts to support that so I'm led to believe that it's not because it's the actual case that he is better, but because you want it to be true.

The last time I checked, this was a discussion forum, and that person replied to me. The interesting thing about discussion forums is that they have reply buttons. Imagine replying back to someone who replied to me. Go figure.

Didn’t Davies lead substantially more laps in SX than Deegan before his injury? Serious question - thought I saw that statistic somewhere.

You did see that. And it tells us very little. In fact, it would seem if a rider led more laps, but has less wins, that they were passed more often.

Not to take anything away from Cole because he's phenomenal with a bright future, but exactly how does one come to the conclusion that he's better than Deegan at sx when Deegan had more wins, more fast times, and a title?

Could he end up being better?  Absolutely, but the claims are a bit premature at this point.

So any talk of Deegan dominating on the 450 would be a bit premature?
