All,
I posted this in the off-road section, but I know some of you fellow moto guys are hunters, hikers, or mountain bikers.
If you love trail riding, mountain biking, hunting, hiking, or just spending time in the woods, the recent Big Beautiful Bill involves the potential for 3 million acres of public land to be put up for sale. If you don't want this to happen, below is a link to tell your local reps to block this bill. Included the original PinkBike article for those who want to read it.

I enjoy every off road activity that can be named, ever since I was a kid I just felt at home and comfortable in nature.
This thread is going to go exactly like the one about the tariffs. “No this is actually good because ________”
+100 for saving our land for the people (which includes moto)
I couldn’t care less what your political leanings are - taking land away from us to prioritize industry profits..no thank you.

Thank you for sharing this. It needs to be talked about. America is the best place in the world to ride a dirtbike off-road and this could take that away.
Regardless of where you stand on the rest of the stuff going on these days, make your voice heard.
Some of the land they want to sell off includes some of the best single track riding in the world.
The fine folks of Utah need to turn their brains on at some point and vote Mike Lee out of office, dudes a dirt bag.
We’ve been trying
Thanks for posting this. Sent some notes, doubt it does anything but can't hurt
He must be part of "that thing" that means you get the automatic and unwaveringly loyal support of 90% of the people in Utah?
You mean the land that the BLM has mis-managed since the 60's. And they've shoe horned folks into tiny slices of millions of acres. That public land?
Is Barstow to Vegas still a thing? Desert racing? Trail riding in National Forests on trails developed by local clubs over decades?
Keep voting for the folks supported by all the greenies. It's the ultimate FAFO.
You dropped out of 2nd grade, didn't you?
Way better that those land goes to billionaires, huh, who definitely have our best interests in mind?
Yeah man, I've done like 6 desert races this year on BLM land.
Just got done doing about 150 miles of trails this weekend on Forest Service land too.
But hey..... you keep preaching that doom and gloom so that you can continue to blindly follow your political team and not ever have to think for yourself.
Come back and let us know how much access you have to that land when the politicians that you worship sell it off to their billionaire buddies.....

I'd need a more detailed map but it sure looks like a (big?) chunk of the Juniper dunes might get sold off?
Also, for Tri-City types who like to hike McBee grade, that looks to be for sale too.

Done
It would be great if there was more land opened up for riding. (I don't think BLM actually makes that decision.)
But, selling the land to private owners is going to result in less land to ride on (and other activities) than we have available now.
You being from Mi. I thought it was your state but out west I,m not shocked. In the 90,s hhg drilling in Mi. They hv a awesome trail system. Some job sites where near the trail looked like a blast railing the sand.
Pit Row
It would be like living in NYS….. beautiful 6 million acre Adirondack Park for tree huggers only….

This is a more detailed map of what is potentially getting put up for sale.
That looks like a good chunk of the Juniper dunes to me. And scrolling around it looks like they would want to sell off access to Saddle mountain area too south of Royal city.
We all need to learn about the term "corner crossing" and the huge debate about being able to jump across the checkerboard of private/public land to access one piece of public land to another.
Corner crossing is a HUGE deal. Essentially private landowners claim you are trespassing when you "corner cross". Look it up.
Looks like a bunch of bad ass SoCal desert riding is on the chopping block too.
Thanks for sharing. Emails sent! We only have two weeks to voice concern.
Along with Palomar Mtn. it's all insane. Brought to us by shitbags like you said, such as Mike Lee.
You lost because you couldn't have a conversation without getting personal.
If you really are curious, I'm not a fan of either side of our government. When it comes to land issues I lean way more towards a Libertarian view of things where less government is ALWAYS better. We lost that battle in the 60's and that was my point. Unfortunately, in the grand scheme of things, this is a small issue to most folks because they are more concerned with jobs, providing for their families, and improving their day to day lives.
I'd be very curious to know how many of you that are against selling off the land own a Honda product. For the past 20 years, they have been one of the biggest corporate supporters of the greenies who want to shut down your access to this land, regardless of who owns it. Everyone votes with their wallet...until they don't.
Greenies as you call them don’t want to sell off the land in Utah I can say that much. It contains some of our best natural landscapes and recreation for all types.
So your stance is that rather than having to deal with some environmental issues to keep riding our dirt bikes on the land, we'd be better off selling it to billionaires so we can just be permanently locked out?
Doesn't make sense to me, but to each their own.
As I said, I'm not a fan of either side. That seems to keep getting lost in everyone's emotional responses.
Neither outcome is a good solution. The greenies don't want to sell the land...but they also don't want anyone to have access to it. Private ownership will have the same result.
The time to have had this discussion was long ago. This is a train that has been barreling down the tracks for years...which is my real point. And it's hard to redirect a train in a short period of time. If there were a different administration in Washington right now, we'd just have a different version of the same problem. See the just rescinded ban on gas vehicles in California by 2035 for an example. Neither side is listening. Guess who is one of the biggest supporters of the greenies? It's the oil industry. Wonder why we can't win?
What position has the AMA taken on this? The industry? Who's lobbying for us? Why were the links posted from a bicycle group and not a motorcycle group? See the recurring theme there?
If it stays public, policy and use can change. If it's sold, it's gone forever. Not sure how anybody who likes to do things outside can be in favor of this. Less area for public use, the same amount of people who want to use public land will be using what is left, and that will just cause a whole bigger set of issues. If you feel the "greenies" want to keep you from using the land we have, what do you think will happen if we all have less land to share?
The AMA?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Now that's a good one, you expect the AMA to actually do something that helps us keep and maintain land to ride on?
