I kind of assume GL’s problem with Steve is over him being fired for not getting vaccinated. Obviously Steve didn’t actually fire him, but I know at the time Steve was being very outspoken about this issue. I’m guessing GL thinks, even if he has proof or not, that he had some influence on the situation given Steve’s relationship with DC.
I don’t think GL should take every chance he gets to throw him under the bus, but I can understand how that situation could make you bitter.

I’m no fan of Steve, but this is the right approach with Deegan. He (and the mulisha boys) would always try to bully Pastrana back when he was a kid and winning everything in fmx. The question hopper asked AP wasn't in the best taste (politically correct), in my opinion. Hopper had planned that question in advance and kind of blindsided AP with that during a live show. These riders on factory teams are asked to keep mum about these things and AP had no where to go with that question. Talk about backing AP in a corner and putting him on the spot while challenging his morals. No matter his answer or facial expression, moto people are well versed in reading body movements or lack thereof.
On the flip side of things, all of us fans wanted that question and I found it kind of fun. I had the same reaction that Jett had and I was watching all alone.
I guess if Hoppers allowed to ask more questions, the AMA , KTM or Yamaha didnt have a big enough problem with it. But, Im sure there was some displeasure within.
And possible that Methees felt ‘outdone’ with that live moment.
