I'd love to try one, but if I had to guess, never.
I feel like Triumph or Ducati is the best chance. I’ve read more than a few times the Japanese are stubborn and aren’t as willing to try different things. They did all go electric start though (minus the bananas) so maybe there’s hope. It’s really mind blowing though why no one else has jumped on the 350. The proof is there they will sell.
How many do they the KTM Group sell?
If say Yamaha were to step up, how many could they steal from the KTM group, and how many could they entice from their current clientele, or other brands?
I don't know exact numbers but I have heard it's one there best selling bikes.
I think with ktm's current situation now would be the best time for another manufacturer to jump in with a 350.
Just in my small group of riding buddies 4 of them would buy a yz350 if they made one.

If Yamaha made a 350 with their current platform it would be the best bike ever made, and they would sell every unit they produced.
If Yamaha made a YZ350 the vet gates would be full of them. I think there is a legitimate business case there.
We were just having this conversation at the track on Sun. Three of my buddies bought new Yamaha 450's and love them but I'm allset with getting back on a 450. Yamaha couldnt even keep a 350 on the showroom floor they would sell so quick. I'm done daydreaming about other manufacturers making a 350. Until I see an actual bike in a dealership, I'm a KTM guy. Even if Triumph puts one out, I sure wont be buying the first generation of it seeing the issues guys are having with their 450s
Same with my group. There would be a line outside waiting to buy them.
Just because another manufacture makes a 350, does not mean they will get it right the first time…KTM has many years of development on that engine…although I would enjoy seeing Suzuki blow everyones mind with an all new 350 and then fully commit to it by racing the it in the 450 class….
I said as much above. I wouldn't be in any rush to buy the first couple years of another manufacturer's brand new 350. As much as I love my KTM, it would be nice to have some other options to choose from. At this point if I wanted to change it up, I would sooner go down to a 250 than I would go back to a 450.
I've already told my dealer if he hears anything I want my name on the first one he can get ha ha.
I hated the first and second gen hermaphrodite Yamahas. So I wanted to hate the current gen. A buddy of mine has a 2025 yz450F, I ride a 2023 KTM 350, KYB converted forks, revalved shock, x trig linkage, full AKRO, GET ecu running a 2nd injector by HP Race Development. A typical Vet bike. I’m 39 and ride Vet B. I love my bike. Best bike I ever owned.
We swapped bikes one night at the track and I wasn’t expecting to like his Yamaha at all. I ended up completely falling in love with it. Handled so nicely, felt comfortable, ultra stable, but it had way too much power for my liking. If Yamaha came out with a 350, I’d wait at my local dealership with cash every morning until they received one!
I've been a long time fan and owned every generation 350 and loved them all but just getting a bit stale with ktm.
Just ticked over 10hrs on my TF450 and loving it so far. Definitely a bit scared about some of the stories I am hearing but. Don't think it will be a bike I'm confident to put 100hrs plus on.
Makes me feel like I'm taking crazy pills. The bike has been a huge sales success for KTM and everyone else has just allowed them to own the whole demographic, and with a lot of the 250s and 450s sharing a frame and the majority of other components it doesn't seem like it would be some huge manufacturing/parts undertaking either. R&D an engine and you capture (or recapture) a whole new customer base. Like everyone else has said, there would be a waiting list, I'd drive over to my Yamaha, Kawi, or Honda dealership today and buy a YZ350, KX350, or CRF350, like first to make one gets my money, but instead you guys literally don't make a bike for me. I mean I have loved every KTM 350 I've had it's just weird now that that's 100% my bike of choice I only have 1 option if 3 color choices, and with this whole KTM/Bajaj deal I'd really love to have another option just in case.
Triumph would be the most likely and earliest we will see. Yamaha seems to be considering one but as of a few months ago, there wasn’t one in the works yet.
I hope you got a good one. I say that in all seriousness not being a sarcastic prick. My buddy has the new Triumph 450 and loved it, coming off his '24 KTM. Well, I'm pretty sure he's in the middle of Triumph giving him a new motor right now.
The 350 is about the most popular size bike in the vet classes in our Hare Scramble series but lately a lot of YZ250's have been joining the ranks with the primary complaint is they wish it had a bit more power. Yes, a YZ350f would sell like hotcakes.
Lol, do you know how expensive it will be in ‘27?
Pit Row
Any chance you could pass onto the guys at yamaha how many people on here would buy a yz350 if they made one 🤣
Ohh I hammered the R&D and research group a couple months ago about it. I spent half my time with them pitching it. 😂
There’s a reason KTM went broke. Just sayin
You're a good man
Ha ha very nice. On behalf of all us 350 lovers thankyou 👍
Can you give me the correlation between making a 350 and going broke?
This is the one I’d like to see. After putting in a lot of time on Triumphs 250 model, and loving it, a 350 model would be a Moto weapon.
There is. And having the 350 option for their customers was not the reason.
It's funny, when Travis Preston was on Pulp the 350 subject came up and he was totally not getting why people would want a 350. Uh, duhhhh just because you have the talent to wring a 450's neck doesn't mean us normies do.
Triumph will have one by December, but won’t be out until ‘27.
My first choice would be a yz350 but I'll happily take a TF350 to go alongside my TF450RC 👌
Woo woo
Do you race/ ride them or just have them in your trophy case?
Post a reply to: When can we actually expect a 350 from another manufacturer?
