I stopped by the Triumph tent and asked...yes, he had a big crash and broke his back. Good news, he still has all his mobility and feeling, no issues there, but he needed surgery.

Wow that's terrible, hope he recovers 100%.

That might slow him down finally from riding & racing.

Man, read that too quickly and read “he doesn’t have any feeling or movement” before I saw the issues part.

Same, had to read through that part 3 times before it stuck.

Still the highlight of all my mid to late 90's racing at Muddy Creek. Getting to watch Brownie burn thru everyone in 125/250 pro. He was lightspeed on that track.

I think he'd race 7 days a week, crisscrossing the country, if he could. He's an animal.

Brownie is a tough SOB. Anyone make sure the track was ok?

Just to keep the Brownie thread going:

I've lined up multiple times with Brownie racing ENDUROCROSS. One time in particular that sticks in my mind was an endurocross race in Idaho. I never practiced gate starts, the only gate starts I'd ever done at the time were EX starts in the early 2010s. I picked the gate beside Brown and watching his body positioning beside me made me think I should try to copy that, and I tried. Most my starts have been dead engine, and I'm generally a good starter with that.
Anyway, Brown took the holeshot that race, I was probably around 6-8th if I remember half correctly. I think Hakker won the main event, but thats a stretch of the memory bank.

Another time was at the Everett Endurocross in a Subway between morning practice and afternoon qualifying. He was in Subway by himself ordering a sandwich with a Starbucks coffee in hand. Turns out he drinks coffee and eats food just like us regular folk 😅

What’s going on guys, Corie here from Anchor. Super close with Brownie and the boys over at triumph. Mike has always been so solid to me and supported Anchor for years now. I made this shirt a while back to mess with him and everyone seems to love it. So we are going to give all the sales of this shirt to Brownie to help out any way we can. So feel free to click the link and hop on the site and order up your shirt of Mike Brown and Ryan Hughes going at it from High Point 2003. https://anchortapeco.com/products/unisex-t-shirt-2?_pos=1&_psq=the-brownie&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Mike is the epitome of the guy that just loves riding. Absolutely loves seat time. I remember talking to him after one Pro Challenge as he his mechanic/buddy loaded up their van. "Where you headed?". Mike: "There's a race at Muddy that I think we can just make if we leave now".

All you need to know.

GWS Brownie!

@browniemx Injury Update 🙏
“Hello everyone,
I want to take a moment to sincerely thank you—for your prayers, kindness, and generous support on my Road 2 Recovery page. Your encouragement means the world to me.
I wanted to share a quick update on my progress. Recovering from this injury has been incredibly difficult, but I’m making small steps forward. I’m now able to walk, with a walker and someone by my side because I tend to lose my balance. My stability still isn’t great, and I’m dealing with ongoing unbalance and dizziness.
We’re still learning the full extent of my injuries, but I’ll continue to keep you updated as I learn more.
The good news is that tomorrow, I’ll be transferring to Shepherd Center Hospital in Atlanta to begin intensive therapy and rehabilitation. It’s a major step forward, and while I know the road ahead will be long and challenging, I’m committed to pushing through.
If you’re able and feel moved to support my recovery journey, you can do so at Road2Recovery.com or through the link in their bio.
Thank you again—from the bottom of my heart—for all your love, prayers, and support. I’m beyond grateful.
Sincerely,
Mike Brown”

I wonder if he has health insurance or if R2R is taking care of the bills?

Just more evidence downvotes shouldn't be anonymous. Own it. You think you're a hilarious troll, raise your hand and be acknowledged.

I agree in principle, but down votes are anonymous for the same reason we use screen names instead of our actual names.

There are psycho people out there who take things way overboard.  It's for safety sake.

What's with these crash induced strokes? I've never heard of it before and now twice in a few weeks....Get well Brownie.

Higher speeds causing harder hits to the head? I found it weird we had 2 within a week and it's something we've never or rarely heard of before.
