It's tiresome that a professional sport still considers 'banged up' to be a suitable explanation for an injury of some sort. Every other professional sport would come out and say exactly what the problem is. FFS.

And of course for the moto 'media'  - they can't deepthroat riders and teams and asks questions at the same time. It's too much for their mouths.

Okay, perhaps that was hyperbole. But for starters: Rugby Union, Rugby League, F1, MotoGP, Football (soccer), boxing, MMA...

Chase seems to be being intentionally aloof, which is fueling the speculation.  I imagine he knows that.  The speculation could stop, with a statement.

That's correct. However, you're expecting the sport to act like other sports, organisations, institutions...

All the rules of media relations are seemingly of no concern to moto.

Not trying to fan the flames, but I would say at least 90% of the time you have a rider crash and pull off of the track, within two days when you get the "he's a little banged up" it pretty much always follows with "but will be at <insert track name> this weekend.

While health is obviously a factor Chase has never won a championship where the dominant guy di not get hurt. 2019 he won 1 250 East race His SX Championship was due to Eli getting injured and he won last year because Jett and Eli were out. IF he has signed a deal why come back and risk injury Maybe 202 but that class had no one in it

Fast racerman69,

Why are you not racing pro mx?  You dont have the speed? Just go faster, wait, then you may get injured.

Jett crashed causing one injury.  If he slowed down that wouldn't have happened.

This coming from a jett fan but damn…

The asterisk clown show gets old.

It's almost like being able to finish a series healthy is crucial to winning a title. Not sure why thats so hard for some fans to understand. Chase dominated the '20 East Coast sx also. They always conveniently leave that out because it ruins their narrative that he backed into every title

You probably need to go look at your own posting history there is nothing to refute, its all there in plain site...you are either a narcissist or a troll because the facts are the majority of your posts are exactly as I have stated....and the majority of people on vital feel the same as I do based on your ability to garner the most downvotes on here....

our friend Cooksey is reporting that CS is "not getting all of his bonus money from ktm" and thus, the friction and him not riding. This will be another moment where Cooksey either has a scoop, or has shit the bed again as Lewis is reporting the exact opposite: CS will return asap and will be on KTM. FWIW.

I think it's possible both are right: He is pissed at the team thus the backwards hat, showing up Harrison on social media, and slow playing his return, but also will return at Red Bud on a KTM as Lewis heard.

Certainly wouldnt bode well for them signing Eli if it came out Chase isnt getting paid. Like Chase wouldnt drop a bit of friendly advice to Eli if that was the case? I'll believe it when it comes from Chase directly. Cook-sey likes the throw shit against the wall and see if it sticks. Everyone already thinks hes a clown so there are no repercussions to him just making shit up

Kooksey was losing subscriptions after his Mirtl fantasy so he had to release some more clickbait....

…Chase is such a nice kid, I just hope that before his career window closes, he figures out that his problems are not with his motorcycles….

He races against some of the best guys to ever ride a dirt bike, so sometimes second place is ok…

What I remember from the Keefer HRC test, Chase wanted a hard midrange hit compared to Jett’s bike that was more linear in power delivery but none of them were rocket ships.

So maybe he will be okay with the engine as long as he gets the midrange that he wants.

The whole Kawasaki lacking power thing feels a bit over exaggerated just because Prado is a freak in the HP department.

looking at Dirt riders 2025 450 test where they dynoed all the bikes, the Kawasaki is a clear second behind the Yamaha in stock form, beating all the different colors of KTM and the Honda.

So I doubt that a factory Kawasaki 450 is THAT bad that some people thinks now just because Prado wants more out of it.

All of this thats going on with Chase has me rethinking what happened in SX.  I thought he was cracking under pressure of being a title favorite after Jett and Tomac were gone. And how he threw it away by crashing. But now I was thinking perhaps he did it on purpose if he is that unhappy at KTM. His contract could have a clause that it renews if he wins a title.

Depending on what is Chases issue with the KTM, the Kawasaki might be a better fit. Might feel more like the Honda he had gotten so comfortable on before leaving. The Kawasaki chassis has to feel more like a Honda than a KTM right? Didn't they model the KX after the good parts of the 08 CRF450 chassis?

The Kawasaki was great for Jason Anderson when he switched from Husky to Kawasaki. Maybe it will be a good fit for Chase? I just hope he gets on a bike he's comfortable on and we get some battles. Imagine the 450 Nationals next summer with a healthy Jett,Hunter,Chase,Eli, Haiden bumping up, maybe Prado getting the hang of things by then too.

I have said this before. Chase is turning into the Aaron Rodgers of MX. Nothing is ever right...and it's never him that is the problem.

If he isn't getting all of his bonus money I'm sure it's because of fines or terms of contracts related to the backwards hat etc. Highly doubt it's because of financial constraints. JT has been making a big deal about the hat. Maybe he knows this is going on and just can't say.

This wouldn't surprise me, I have heard Daniel Sanders hasn't got his Dakar win bonus or salary.

not saying by any means it's the case. But more of an open discussion.

But it's a shame that mental health is never really spoken about or acknowledged much in our sport. With the amount of effort, pressure, social media and the way fans can voice opinions now must make it pretty dam tough to be a modern-day athlete. Add in how small our niche sport is and the type of demographic people who follow it.

Especially for someone like Sexton who has had some pretty crazy up and downs.

An individuals mental health shouldn't be front and centre in the media IMO. Yes all of those things are real and have a massive impact but it's up to everyone, the athletes, their teams, families etc to handle these things in the best way possible without putting it out there for the public to scrutinize.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't talk about mental health and how to get help when it's needed, just that I disagree that professional athletes should be expected to share any of this with the public.

Also consider we know he had a concussion back in '23 that kept him out for a month. Dont they say the repercussions of concussions get worse the more the get?

This is correct ,they get more severe and it takes less and less to get one. I remember Troy Aikman Dallas Cowboy QB had to retire because it got to the point where the slightest knock to the helmet and he was concussed and out of the game.
